Been using Panamax products for years. The Panamax PM8-AV is the greatest. Secures more than just the 8 outlets. Very easy to put up with supplied screws and collars to assure the correct distance from the wall for the drop down installation. Very pleased with item and bought another one.

No issues at this time, i like the fact that it has control on power spikes /surge to protect my TV,Cable Modem, and Router, layout is nice on the PM8-AV room for brick power supply and room underneath as well. Enjoy

There is no shortage of protective power strips that cost less, however the generously-wide layout of the sockets and the LAN/phone arrangement, the compact size and most importantly that Crutchfield recommends this brand over so many others, gives me the piece of mind that impartial experts have reviewed it long before I did.

Can't say anything bad. Maybe I'm imagining somewhat better sound but this rig seems to help. Not sure about surge protecting ability but that's not that common anyway. Plenty of outlets.

Nice design

Works just as it should. There isn't a lot that can be said about a surge protector but here goes. Panamax has always been a great manufacturer and the fact that Crutchfield is an authorized dealer means if I ever do get any damage to my components their warranty will cover it (unlike other retailers) The best feature this unit has is the offset outlet orientation so large plugins don't get in the way. I like the fact that the cord that plugs into the wall is also long enough to reach a fair distance. The mounting locations are also nice and easy to access. Overall it seems to be a great unit. Hopefully I never need to test its capabilities but if I do I am confident in Panamax.

Perfect receptacle placement

I had regular surge protectors. Yes, plural. The receptacle placement of this device made it perfect for the odd Transformer plugs. I didn't realize that having a conditioner would make a noticeable difference. Definitely surprised and would highly recommend.

This replaced an older Antec product. I like the Panamax because the plug spacing is better designed...no problems fitting all components and their different sizes.

Looks good. A black version might be nice. 90 degree outlets are great for having room for various sized equipment plugs. Wall mounting ability helps aid in keeping wires neat and tidy. A template for wall mounting would have been nice but it isn't hard to make your own. Hopefully I never have to put their 100k equipment warranty to the test.

PANAMAX PM8-AV Review

Panamax has a good reputation of quality products. I needed a power surge solution for a basic system. This was just what I needed. Of course, with higher end components, a more upscale Panamax unit will be needed, but for now, this works just fine. Easy set up, good indicators for power & grounded outlets. Thanks!

Impressive

Great protection. Improved (Slight) picture quality from my 4K TV. I used 7 of the outlets from my components. 2 of them are transformers. No problem fitting them on the surge protector. My only knock is the plug is right angle. Not a deal breaker. Didn't benefit me.

We had a power surge, and it took out the PM8, but it protected all the equipment! It did its job and Panamax stood behind their lifetime guarantee and provided a free replacement with no hassle. That is the experience I paid for when I picked it. Very pleased.

Works just as advertised. Electrical plug in form side and top is particularly useful and the ability to easily mount on the wall or the back of the cabinet provides super access for connections.

Another Great Panamax Product

Been using Panamax products for years. Always good value and whenever there was a problem (like a lightning strike) Panamax has stood behind their products. I have the larger Panamax M4300-PM and needed more power outlets for a turntable, DAC, external hard drive and phono preamp so I picked this up. Works great and operates quietly giving me good sound and peace of mind from power surges and thunder storms. I would recommend this to any such application and a larger Panamax for any high current components such as amplifiers and receivers.

I initially rolled my eyes at the thought of a power strip costing more than $20 but I was so desperate to get rid of the fuzz and feedback coming from my speakers for years that I bit the bullet and bought em. My speakers have never sounded better!

So far so good...

I've only had it a week but I'm very happy with my purchase so far. I like the design of the outlets because it allows thicker plugs the space they need without blocking the others. The green lights remind me that it's doing its job without being too bright. But my favorite part is having piece of mind knowing that my equipment is protected.

Works as expected

This is my second Panamax power strip with surge suppression. It has 8 outlets, LED status indicators and keyholes with mounting hardware. It's wide enough to accommodate all of your power cables and thin enough to mount to the back of your cabinet or wall providing necessary space.

Were running new 4k TV off of 9 year old Monster surge protector, and picture was vibrant, clear. When we plugged same Tv into PM8-AV, clarity was lost and colors looked faded. We connected TV into an old Furman surge protector and vibrancy along with clear pictured returned. We tried this 4 separate times and same results, even plugging directly into wall plug resulted in better picture quality. We sent PM8-AV back for refund.

I haven't had any surges, but take comfort with having a premium surge/power conditioner for my equipment. The location of the power switch and outlets are very helpful. Nicely designed. The 6' cord is helpful too.

After some research I determined I was not protected and this was recommended by CRUTCHFIELD. Tech support even clearfied hook up of cable. Could have spent a lot more and of course could have stayed with a lesser surge protector but this unit seems like the best solution to protect my 5 thousand plus dollar investment.

The Panamax PM8-AV is a nice compact unit. the outlets are spaced well to accommodate 8 plugs and enough room to allow those clunky transformer type. Has two coaxial (cable type) inputs with outputs. One phone line. It's function is unseen so I won't know how well it protects my equipment until it happens. It is a comfort to think I am protected.

LIVING IN THE LIGHTING CAPITAL OF AMERICA, I KNEW IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO PURCHASE A GOOD SURGE PROTECTOR. SIX YEARS AGO I BOUGHT A PANAMAX, AND AFTER MANY LIGHTING STORMS, MY SONY BRAVIA NEVER GOT DAMAGED. WHEN I RECENTLY PURCHASED A NEW FLAT PANEL FOR OUR BEDROOM , I PURCHASED ANOTHER PANAMAX PM8-AV FOR THERE. I FIGURED IT DID NOT FAIL ME THE FIRST TIME, SO STICK WITH WHAT WORKS.

Awesome Product

Very reliable product. There was a storm a while ago and the surge protector did its job. It powered down until the voltage was stable and I was amazed. Thank god I have this product protecting all of my AV gear and I feel confident it won't let me down. Also the picture quality did improve for anybody wondering about that part. Theres warranty on all the gear that you plug in as well.
