This CPK 165 PRO component speaker system employs an innovative venting structure that promotes cooling and prevents distortion. As a result, Hertz gets superior low-end performance from the 6-1/2" pressed paper woofer and butyl rubber surround, while the Tetolon fiber dome tweeter with its 1" voice coil effortlessly provide satisfying highs. Included external crossover systems ensure each driver receives the frequencies it was designed to handle.

Klippel Verified: The Klippel distortion analyzer, a device that uses a laser and computer software to do large-scale analysis of drivers in motion, helps Hertz optimize the speaker's motor structure, voice coil alignment, and suspension to yield the best possible performance.

Crossovers: Each crossover has a tweeter output level switch; choose between -2dB, 0dB (flat), and +2dB. The crossover point is 2.8 kHz and the slope is 12 dB/octave (low pass and high pass). They have screw terminal inputs and outputs that will accept bare wire or spade connectors up to 0.315" wide. The woofer has quick slide terminals, so crimp-on terminals can be added (item number 120FQS10PK, sold separately) to provide the needed terminals.
