An aluminum alloy speaker basket with built-in venting provides a solid, smart foundation for impressive performance from this 7" speaker. Hertz employs a "Boundary Free" rubber surround with its enhanced pressed pulp and cotton fiber woofer to move more air with accuracy. The woofer's V-cone design improves dispersion and helps provide lows you can feel. how come this woofer does not fit as a 7" but the Focal VW 180 which is also a 7" does fit in the front location of a mk5 vw golf R32 ?

Greetings Neo, and thank you for your question. Possibly the Focal is designed for certain VWs only, and the Hertz is universal. I would really need the year of your Golf to take a harder look.

My Tahoe is a 2005 with Bose system. And whatsa good clean amp?. And r the factory crossovers good. I am use to focal components but gonna switch. Hope this is the right choice.

Focal is always the right choice Russell, but if you want to take your custom setup to the next level Hertz is a winner. It is also crucial to setup your amplifier and crossovers properly for the best performance. These Hertz ML 1800.3 Mille Legend midrange speakers would need to be custom installed as they will not fit in any factory location on your Tahoe. If you are custom installing all your speakers, you would need to pair the ML 1800.3's with the Mille Legend Series 1-3/8" tweeters in the first link below. The matching Hertz ML 2000.3 subwoofer (or two) in the third link would cover the low end. For a high-quality speaker setup like this you would want to bypass all factory amplification and run your own new, fresh wiring to all the speakers. Will these fit in a Tahoe with old Bose setup?

Does this driver require an enclosure? And also is the RMS rating per driver or for the pair?

The RMS is per driver. These are free air drivers and do not need to be installed into a box with a specific amount of airspace
