Features
Overview: The Audison Prima APBX 10 DS passive loaded enclosure blends Audison's APS 10 D 10" subwoofer driver with a perfectly matched ultra-low profile sealed enclosure, for crisp tight bass from in a compact form. The 10" driver features a water-repellent pressed paper cone and a heavy-duty motor assembly, both developed with FEM (Finite Element Method) analysis and optimized using Klippel Scanning Vibrometer technology. The sealed enclosure is constructed of thick MDF and covered in stylish black carpet.
Power: The Audison Prima APBX 10 DS can handle up to 400-watts RMS (800-watts peak power).
Impedance: The APBX 10 DS driver features dual 4-ohm voice coils with two wiring options available:
- 2-Ohms: Jumper plug in place; single 2-ohm input on the spring-posts.
- 4-Ohm Bi-Amp/8-Ohm: Jumper plug removed; dual 39" speaker wire inputs provide two 4-ohm inputs for bi-amping the sub. The speaker harness can also be wired in series, providing a single 8-ohm load to your amp.
2S2 Enclosure: The APBX 10 DS features Audison's 2 Sides/ 2 Sounds design that lets you mount the subwoofer enclosure laying flat in in an up-firing position for more punch and definition, or in a down-firing configuration for increased low-end. The APBX 10 DS includes four mounting feet and hardware for down-fire mounting. The enclosure has 5.75" of height with the feet installed. Velcro pads on the bottom of the feet provide a no-slip grip on vehicle carpet.
Inputs: Sub Smart Plug (SSP) technology features dual connection methods for attaching speaker wire to the enclosure:
- Spring-Posts: A pair of spring-posts can accommodate speaker wire up to 12-gauge in size, and provides a single 2-ohm connection to your amplifier. When using the spring-post inputs, an included 4-pin Molex jumper plug on the harness input must be used, providing a parallel connection for the two 4-ohm voice coils.
- Harness: A second 4-pin input lets you use the included Molex speaker harness with 39" bare-ended wires for making a bi-amp connection to your amplifier. The parallel-wired jumper plug gets removed and the bi-amp harness installed, providing two 4-ohm speaker wire connections.
