Features
Overview: The Audison SR 5.600 5-channel amplifier features Audison D-Class Technology (ADT) to deliver high-end performance and efficiency. It features a heavy-duty aluminum chassis in a compact size that's ideal for installation in tight spaces.
CEA-2006-A Power Output: The SR 5.600 is compliant with the CEA-2006-A Amplifier Power Standard, which makes it easy for consumers to compare amplifier power specs from one brand to another. The amplifier's CEA-2006-A ratings include:
- RMS Power (4Ω, 1% THD+N, 14.4 volts): 75 watts x 4 + 300 watts x 1
- S/N Ratio (ref. 1W output): 83 dBA (4-channels) & 75 dBA (sub-channel)
Additional Power Output Specs: The following additional power output specs are taken @ 14.4 VDC, 1% THD:
- 5 Channel: 75 watts x 4 (4Ω) + 330 watts x 1 (4Ω)
- 5 Channel: 115 watts x 4 (2Ω) + 550 watts x 1 (2Ω)
- 3 Channel: 230 watts x 2 (4Ω) + 310 watts x 1 (4Ω)
- 3 Channel: 223 watts x 2 (2Ω) + 550 watts x 1 (2Ω)
Auto Remote Turn-On (ART): The SR 5.600 features ART (Auto Remote Turn-On) which automatically powers on and off the amplifier when an audio signal (or lack of one) is detected on the speaker-level inputs. This is especially helpful when connecting the amplifier to an OEM radio. It eliminates the need for running a remote lead from the head unit to the amp. ART is only available with Speaker Level inputs.
Universal Speakers Simulator (USS): The SR 5.600 features Universal Speakers Simulator (USS) technology built into it. USS is a dynamic load circuit that presents a speaker channel with impedance low enough to keep an OEM head unit/amplifier from muting its output, but not low enough to cause over-current or heating problems. This makes the SR 5.600 amplifier ideal for OEM integration.
All Channels Driven: Incorporating Audison's "All Channels Driven" design philosophy, the SR 5.600's power supply is designed to handle the cumulative power demand of the amplifier, meaning the amp can deliver the rated power on all channels simultaneously.
Optional VCR-S2 Remote Control: The Audison 5-channel amplifier can be used with the optional Audison VCR-S2 Remote Volume Control (sold separately). This lets you adjust the level of the Subwoofer channel from the front of your vehicle. The rotary control has a point at 0 dB to mark the normal amp output. From there, you can turn the amplifier up to +6dB or attenuate the volume down to -20dB. The VCR-S2's 16' connection cable plugs into a 2-pin socket on the amplifier.
Amplifier Controls: The Audison SR 5.600 has a full array of filters and controls to help you configure your audio system for maximum performance. Each of the three output sections of the amplifier - Front, Rear, and Subwoofer features its own set of filters and adjustments. The controls are protected by a removable cover.
- Front (3 CH):
- Mode: Push-button switch (Hi & Full); determines if the Front filter will be active or if a full-range signal will be passed.
- Level: Rotary control lets you match the input of the amplifier to the output of your head unit. The amp will accept either line-level or speaker-level inputs. The sensitivity range is 0.2 V (200 mV) to 5 V (line-level) and 800 mV to 20 V (speaker-level).
- Hi Pass Filter: A rotary control determines the frequency cutoff for the high-pass filter; range 50-500 Hz. A corresponding Range button (x1/x10) lets you increase the range to 500 Hz-5 kHz. When the Rear filter is set to Band-Pass mode, the Front filter becomes the low-pass and the Rear high-pass. The Front filter has a 12 dB/octave slope.
- Rear:
- Input: A push-button On/Off switch enables/disables the Rear input channels.
- Level: Rotary control lets you match the input of the amplifier to the output of your head unit. The amp will accept either line-level or speaker-level inputs. The sensitivity range is 0.2 V (200 mV) to 5 V (line-level) and 800 mV to 20 V (speaker-level).
- Filter Mode: A 3-way switch determines the Rear channel filter type; options for Full, Hi, and Bandpass; in Bandpass mode, the Front filter becomes the low-pass and the Rear filter the high-pass.
- Hi Pass Filter: A rotary control determines the frequency cutoff for the Rear high-pass filter; range 50-500 Hz; 12 dB/octave slope.
- Sub:
- Input: A push-button On/Off switch enables/disables the Sub input channels.
- Level: Rotary control lets you match the input of the amplifier to the output of your head unit. The amp will accept either line-level or speaker-level inputs. The sensitivity range is 0.2 V (200 mV) to 5 V (line-level) and 800 mV to 20 V (speaker-level).
- Lo Pass: A rotary dial lets you select a cutoff frequency from 50-500 Hz; 24 dB/octave slope.
- Bass Boost: A rotary dial that lets you add up to +12dB of boost @ 50 Hz, letting you add extra punch if running a subwoofer.
- Subsonic: A push-button switch lets you activate the Subsonic Filter which removes very low, subsonic frequencies (25 Hz and lower) from the speaker outputs to prevent damage to your subwoofers. The Subsonic filter has a 24dB/octave slope.
- Common Controls & Indicators:
- ART: A push-button switch lets you activate the Auto Remote Turn-on feature when using speaker-level inputs. ART should be turned Off when using RCA line-level input signals.
- Amp Mode: A push-button switch determines the amplifier channel configuration;
- 3 CH: Lets you run a 3-channel (Front + Sub) configuration. In 3 CH mode, the Rear filter settings become disabled and only Front and Sub settings are active.
- 5 CH: Lets you use all five output channels (Front, Rear, Sub).
- LED Indicators: A Power LED on the top panel will light Blue when the amplifier is powered on and operating normally and Red if the amp over-heats or sees a short-circuit.
Connections:
- Power/Ground: Set-screw terminals are provided for the power and ground terminals, accepting wire up to 4 AWG (recommended).
- Note: A 4 AWG amplifier wiring kit with an in-line 50A (or higher) fuse at the battery will be required for installation and is sold separately.
- Fuses: The SR 5.600 includes two 25A ATO fuse installed on the side of the amp chassis; two spare 25A fuses are included.
- Remote In/Out: A 6" 2-pin harness provides a 22 AWG Remote In wire for activating the amp when using low-level input signals; a 22 AWG Remote Out can provide a 150 mA trigger output for activating an additional amplifier.
- Speaker Outputs: Five pairs of set-screw terminals (Front, Rear, Sub) provide the speaker outputs; terminals can accept wire up to 12 AWG; bridging terminals are identified on the amp.
- Low-Level (RCA) Inputs: Three sets of stereo RCA inputs (Front, Rear, Sub) are provided for connecting an aftermarket head unit to the amplifier; accepts signals ranging from 200 mV-5 V.
- Speaker-Level Inputs: The SR 5.600 includes three 6" 4-pin speaker-level input harnesses; accepts input signals from a factory headunit ranging from 800 mV-20 V.
- Remote Level Control: A 2-pin socket on the amp chassis lets you connect an optional VCR-S2 remote level control (sold separately), letting you adjust the Sub output volume from the front of your vehicle.

Great sound, lots of power, and bass is insane. I have it driving front door speakers and tweeters, with a sub in the back.
