Features
Overview: The RCF ART 912-A is a professional active two-way loudspeaker system housed in a durable ported enclosure designed for portability and installations. The ART 912-A can be placed on a floor or stage as a main PA or as a stage monitor; it can also be pole-mounted on an optional tripod stand or over a subwoofer as a combination PA system.
Bi-Amped Driver Design: The RCF ART 912-A powered loudspeaker features a two-way driver design with a 1.75" Polyimide-Kapton dome compression tweeter and a 12" cone woofer with a large 2.5" voice coil. Both drivers are powered by an energy-efficient class-D amplifier. The 2100-watt class-D amplifier offers high efficiency in a lightweight form, providing excellent heat dissipation without the need for cooling fans. The bi-amplified system provides 700-watts (peak power) to the 1.75" compression driver and 1400-watts (peak power) to the 12" woofer. The two-way powered loudspeaker has a frequency range of 50 Hz-20 kHz with a coverage angle of 100° (h) x 60° (v).
M-Brace Enclosure Design: The ART 912-A features a polypropylene composite enclosure with a heavy-duty steel grille. RCF's M-Brace cabinet design connects the four internal sides and the amplifier, preventing any body deformation and providing acoustical damping, even at maximum volume. The M-Brace also works as a reinforcement structure, for greater resistance to mechanical stress. The enclosure features a 35mm insert on the bottom panel for pole-mounting the speaker, along with three threaded M10 anchor points - one on the top panel and one on each side panel, for suspending the PA speaker. With integrated carry-handles on top and on each side, and a weight of 41.89 lbs., the ART 912-A is also designed for portability.
Bass Motion Control: RCF's BSM (Bass Motion Control) is a newly advanced woofer excursion management feature that allows the woofer to handle the lowest audible frequencies without affecting its stability, while providing extended linearity and higher sound quality. This method works by creating a map of the dynamic behavior of the woofer, to generate a custom algorithm that only limits over-excursions. Most systems employ a high-pass filter to protect the woofer, but at the cost of altered phase behavior.
FiRPHASE Processing: RCS' proprietary FiRPHASE DSP processing with 0° phase response makes sure all output frequencies are time-aligned to reach your audience's ears simultaneously, providing exceptional clarity and sound quality with no phasing issues.
Selectable DSP Presets: A rear-panel switch lets you select from three DSP Presets, designed for different performance applications.
- Linear: Recommended for most applications where the speaker will be placed off of the floor.
- Boost: Creates a loudness equalization recommended for background music that's played at low-level.
- Stage: Optional setting when the PA speaker will be placed on the floor or used as a stage monitor.
Connections: The powered PA speaker features a single XLR/1/4" combination jack that can accept line-level signals. A male XLR Output jack provides a pass-thru connection for the input, letting you daisy-chain multiple speakers.
Controls & Indicators:
- Volume: A rotary control lets you adjust the overall output level.
- Presets: A push-button lets you cycle through the three available preset DSP modes: Linear, Boost, and Stage.
- LED Indicators:
- Signal: Indicates an audio signal is present on the input.
- Overload: Indicates an overload on the input; occasional illumination of this LED is normal, but should not be lit continuously. The amplifier's built-in Limiter circuit will prevent input clipping or overdriving the transducers.
Mounting: The RCF ART 912-A features multiple mounting options including sitting upright on a floor or stage; laying sideways in a monitor wedge fashion; or pole-mounted on an optional tripod or over a subwoofer in a combination configuration. M10 anchor points on top and sides of the speaker can be used for suspending the ART 912-A, and optional brackets are also available for wall- or ceiling-mounting the speaker.
Power: The RCS ART 912-A requires AC power for operation and includes a 117" IEC 3-pin power cable.
