About the Samsung SmartThings Button (2018)
One-touch control
Set the scene you want without having to fumble with your phone.
One-touch control
We have cool apps — like SmartThings — to set up and control our smart devices, but sometimes there is just no substitute for the on-the-spot convenience of a button. Especially when the button can control multiple lights, electronics, and small appliances in one go.
The SmartThings Button works with your SmartThings Hub and connected devices to give you convenient wireless one-touch control. Add SmartThings Outlets to lamps or small appliances that you want the button to trigger — then you'll also be able to control them remotely using the mobile app. If you've got a compatible smart thermostat, you can even program the button to adjust the temperature when pressed.
Double tap it, too
The Button actually gives you three customizable functions: single tap, double tap, and long press. Each one can be programmed to run a different set of actions.

Features
Overview: The SmartThings Button (IM6001-BTP01) lets you control lights, small appliances, electronic devices, and other connected devices with the push of a button. Connect the Button to your SmartThings system, and you can use it to turn other connected devices on or off, or use it to trigger Automations and Routines in the SmartThings app. The Button also has a built-in temperature sensor, so you can monitor the temperature in your home. The Button is 1.6" x 1.6" x 0.582" (W x D x H), and weighs 0.8 ounces.
Note: The SmartThings Button requires the SmartThings Hub.
Button: The SmartThings Button is not simply a two-way toggle switch. It can be customized in the SmartThings app to trigger different functions for single tap, double tap, and long press. The built-in temperature sensor can trigger an action when it detects a shift in the ambient temperature. The Button connects wirelessly to the SmartThings Hub. It can be placed virtually anywhere -- on a desk or tabletop, mounted to a wall with the included adhesive, or simply held in your hand.
SmartThings Monitoring System: The SmartThings Home Monitoring system contains several sensors and a central monitoring hub to help you make sure your home is safe. Available SmartThings sensors include a Multipurpose Sensor, Motion Sensor, Water Leak Sensor, and a Smart Outlet. Numerous devices (locks, thermostats, wireless music systems, cameras, light bulbs, etc.) from Samsung and other manufacturers can be controlled through the SmartThings system. The SmartThings monitoring system is controlled via Wi-Fi and the SmartThings app for your smartphone or tablet. SmartThings devices can be controlled with voice commands using Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant. No contracts or monthly fees are required to monitor your home with the SmartThings system.
SmartThings App: The SmartThings app for your smartphone or tablet lets you easily control, monitor, and secure your home from virtually anywhere in the world. The app is available from Apple iTunes for iOS devices running version 11.0 or later, and from Google Play for Android devices (6.0 or later).
