Integrated HDTV Tuner: The TV has a built-in over-the-air HDTV (ATSC) tuner, so you don't have to purchase a separate digital set-top box to receive and decode over-the-air HDTV/SDTV signals. The TV also has a 181-channel NTSC analog tuner. An additional QAM tuner decodes unscrambled digital cable signals.

Display Resolution: The television has a display resolution of 1920 x 1080. The HDMI and component video inputs will accept 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i signals and will display them as 1920 x 1080. The television features a full HD 1920 x 1080p digital format converter for all inputs.

FilterBright With Anti-Glare Filter: FilterBright is a powerful anti-reflective film that absorbs external light and transmits internal light, thereby increasing the contrast levels and preventing unwanted reflection. This technology enhances the TV's contrast ratio in bright rooms even in the daytime to improve overall brightness for clearer image details. The television features a 10,000:1 contrast ratio for deeper blacks and brighter whites.

Digital Natural Image Engine (DNIe): This exclusive Samsung technology dramatically improves picture quality by enhancing the contrast, detail, and white balance, while also reducing the noise.

18-bit Processing: The Samsung plasma TV can display more natural and true colors thanks to its 18 bit video processor.

Picture Modes: You can choose one of the following picture modes:

• Standard: resets the standard factory settings
• Dynamic: for viewing the TV during the day, or when there is bright light in the room
• Movie: for viewing the TV in low light, or when playing video games

Basic Picture Adjustments: The TV also allows you to make the following basic picture adjustments - Contrast, Brightness, Sharpness Color and Color Tint.

Color Tone: You can choose from the following preset color tones - Cool1, Cool2, Wamr1, or Warm2.

Active Color: This feature makes the blue and green colors more vivid on the TV's screen.

Detailed Picture Adjustments: In addition, the television allows you to make the following detailed picture adjustments.

• Black Adjust: This feature allows you to directly select the black level on the screen from Off, Low, Medium or High to adjust the screen depth.
• Dynamic Contrast: You can adjust the screen contrast from Off, Low, Medium, or High so that the optimal contrast is provided.
• Gamma: This feature adjusts the primary color (red, green, blue) intensity from -3 to +3.
• Color Space: Color space is a color matrix compose of red, green, and blue colors. You can select the color space between Auto or Wide to experience the most natural color.
• White Balance: White Balance adjusts the color temperature for more natural picture colors.
• Edge Enhancement: This function emphasizes object boundaries; can be turned either On or Off
• xvYCC: This feature allows you to enjoy powerful color presentation of movies on this TV.
• My Color Control Mode: The My Color Control Mode lets you select predefined settings that affect the skin, sky, and grass tones in a picture without affecting other colors on the screen. You can adjust Pink, Green, Blue and White tones to your personal preference for optimal viewing.

Picture Sizes: You can choose one of the following picture sizes:

• 16:9: sets the picture to 16:9 wide mode
• Zoom 1: vertically enlarges the size of the picture and allows you to move the enlarged picture using the arrows on the remote
• Zoom 2: vertically enlarges the size of the picture more than Zoom 1 and allows you to move the enlarged picture using the arrows on the remote
• Wide Fit: proportionally enlarges the picture to fit the entire screen without changing the aspect ratio
• 4:3: sets the picture to 4:3 normal mode
• Just Scan: use this function to see the full image without any cutoff when DTV, Component or HDMI 720p/1080i/1080p signals are input

Film Mode: This mode automatically senses and process film signals and adjust the picture for optimum quality.

Game Mode: When using a video came console, you can optimize your game experience with the Game Mode. The Game Mode enhances dark areas, sharpens the picture, speeds up the image processing response, and enhances the sounds of the games.

Picture-In-Picture (PIP): The Picture-In-Picture feature allows you to simultaneously watch two video sources (such as a TV, VCR, or DVD), or watch one video source while using the PC input. The TV has only one tuner, so you cannot watch two TV channels at the same time. There are three PIP views: two side-by-side split screens or a small window inside of the full screen. The small PIP window can be moved to any of the screen's four corners.

Freeze Picture: The TV allows you to freeze a moving picture. Normal sound will still be heard during this function.

Digital Noise Reduction: If the broadcast signal received by your TV is weak, you can activate the Digital Noise Reduction feature to help reduce any static and ghosting that may appear on the screen.

Low Noise Amplifier (LNA): When the TV's antenna setting is on "Air," instead of "Cable," sometimes reception can be improved by boosting the incoming signal using the LNA function. A separate LNA setting may be put into the TV's memory for each channel.

Digital Signal Strength Meter: The digital signal strength meter can be used to help you find the antenna position that delivers the highest HDTV digital signal strength.

Analog Channel Fine Tuning: The fine tuning feature allows you to manually adjust analog channels for optimal reception. A separate fine tuning setting may be put into the TV's memory for each analog channel.

Input Labeling: You can name the device connected to the input jack to make your in source selection easier. You can choose from the following preset input labels - VCR, DVD, D-VHS, Cable STB, HD STB, Satellite STB, PVR STB, AV Receiver DVD Receiver Game, Camcorder, DVD Combo, PC, VOD STB or TV.

Channel Labeling: Channels can be labeled so that their call letters appear whenever the cannel is selected.

Favorites: This feature allows you to set a number of channels you watch frequently as Favorites for easy access.

Digital Close Captioning: You can customize the closed caption display characteristics by changing the background color, foreground color, text size, and font when viewing digital channels.

PC Display: The PC input allows you to connect a personal computer with a D-Sub 15-pin output, allowing you to use the TV as a high-resolution computer monitor. In PC mode, you can adjust the following picture quality settings: Coarse and Fine, both of which allow you to remove picture noise. The television can also be connected to your PC via HDMI or DVI adapter and audio cable.

Wiselink Function: The side-panel USB port allows you to connect a mass USB storage device to view JPEG files and play MP3 audio files. You have access to the following functions:

• Photo (JPEG) List: This menu shows JPEG files and folders saved on the memory device and allows you to do the following:
  • List: You can view individual photos by selecting them from the thumbnail display.
  • Rotate: This feature allows you to rotate the selected image by 90°, 180°, or 270°.
  • Zoom: You can enlarge a picture 1x, 2x, or 4x. Once the image is enlarged, you can move it around onscreen.
  • Slide Show: You can play files on the memory device in a slide show. You can adjust the slide show speed to Slow, Normal, or Fast. You can also choose an MP3 file on the memory device to play as background music during the slide show. The repeat function allows you to play the slide show again and again.
• MP3 List: This menu shows MP3 files saved on the memory device and allows you to play them back.

Anynet+: Anynet+ is an AV network system that enables you to control all HDMI connected Samsung AV devices with your Samsung TV's remote. The Anynet+ system can be used only with Samsung AV devices that support the Anynet+ feature and are connected with HDMI 1.3 cables. The Anynet+ feature must be turned on in the menu to function. Anynet+ can support up to 12 AV devices in total.

Sound Settings: You can choose from the following sound settings:

• Standard: resets the standard factory settings
• Music: for watching music videos and concerts
• Movie: for watching movies
• Speech: for watching a show that is mostly dialogue
• Custom: allows you to adjust the 5-band EQ, which includes the following frequencies: 100 Hz, 300 Hz, 1 kHz, 3 kHz, and 10 kHz
• SRS TruSurround XT: TruSurround is a patented SRS technology that solves the problem of playing 5.1 multichannel content over two speakers. TruSurround delivers a compelling, virtual surround sound experience through the two speaker internal playback system. It is fully compatible with all multi-channel formats.

Auto Volume: Auto volume automatically adjusts the volume of the desired channel by lowering the sound output when the modulation signal is high or by raising the sound output when the modulation signal is low.

V-Chip: The V-Chip feature automatically locks out programs that are deemed inappropriate for children based on the user selected parental guidelines. The user must enter a 4-digit password before any of the V-Chip restriction are set up or changed.

Sleep Timer: The sleep timer switches the television off after a specified amount of time. The sleep timer can be set to 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, or 180 minutes.

On/Off Timer: The On/Off timer allows you to program the television to turn itself on and off by selecting a specific on time and a specific off time. You can also choose the "On Timer Channel" and "On Timer Volume."

Energy Savings: This feature allows you to choose a level of energy savings by adjusting the screen brightness. You can select Auto Saving, which automatically adjusts the screen brightness depending upon the surrounding lighting conditions. Super Saving enters the maximum power saving mode regardless of the surrounding illumination. If you select Standard, the TV operates in the standard brightness mode, regardless of the surrounding lighting conditions.

Screen Burn Protection: To reduce the possibility of screen burn-in, this TV is equipped with a pixel shift function, which minutely moves pixels on the display horizontally or vertically. You can set the number of vertical lines and horizontal dots to shift, plus the time interval for each pixel shift. If screen burn has occurred, you can select an all-white screen or a signal pattern to help remove screen burn artifacts. The TV also features a "Side Gray" function which prevents burn-in from 4:3 broadcasts which have vertical bars on each side of the picture.

Mounting Options

Detachable Stand: The FP-T5084 comes with a vertical stand for easy placement on top of a counter or table. On the stand, the TV can be swiveled left to right 20-degrees. The stand can be removed to wall mount the television. There is a plastic cap and two machine screws supplied to cover the stand opening when the pedestal stand is detached and the TV is wall-mounted.

Wall Mounting: You can mount this display on the wall using an optional wall-mount bracket. The TV has four threaded screw holes spaced to accommodate many universal wall mount brackets. The horizontal hole spacing is 600mm, while the vertical hole spacing is 400mm. The holes will accept M8 (8mm) screws.

Remote Control

Multibrand Remote: The supplied remote is pre-programmed to operate this unit and a number of functions on other brands of components, including VCRs, cable boxes, set-top boxes, and DVD players. You can use the remote control up to a distance of about 23 feet from the TV. The remote control features a Backlight button which will illuminate the Volume Up/Down, Channel Up/Down and Source buttons on the remote.

Inputs and Outputs Notes

HDMI Inputs: The television features two rear HDMI inputs and one side-panel HDMI Input. One of the HDMI inputs on the rear panel has stereo RCA audio inputs for use when connecting to a source unit with a DVI output (DVI does not carry an audio signal).

Note: The HDMI terminals will accept 1080p, 1080i, 720p, and 480p signals.

Component Video Inputs: The two component video inputs will accept 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i signals.

Digital Audio Output: The TV has one optical digital audio output for connecting the TV to a digital audio system with 5.1-channel audio.

PC In: The PC input consists of an analog RGB (D-Sub 15-pin) jack and a stereo mini-jack. This jack allows you to connect a personal computer with a D-Sub 15-pin output.

EX-Link: This jack connects to an optional Samsung wall-bracket and allows you to adjust the TV viewing angle using the television's remote control.

AV Side Panel Inputs: The TV features a composite and S-video input along with a pair of stereo RCA audio inputs on its side-panel.

WiseLink: This Type A USB port on the side panel of the TV allows you to connect a USB mass storage device to view photo files (JPEG) and play audio files (MP3).

Headphone Out: The television features a side-panel 3.5mm headphone jack for private listening with an optional set of headphones.
