Class D Bi-Amplification: The Kanto REN speaker system features a Class D bi-amplification with 100 watts (RMS) of total power, delivering 15 watts to each tweeter and 35 watts to each woofer. The built-in Class D amplifiers are located in the REN's powered speaker. Powering the tweeters and woofers with separate amplifiers allow each driver to focus on a specific frequency band without wasting power.

• The binding-post terminals on the back of each speaker along with the included 16.5'speaker wire connect the powered and passive speakers together.
• The included speaker wire can be replaced with higher quality speaker cable. The binding post terminals will accept bare wire (up to 12AWG), pin-connectors, spade-lugs, and banana plugs (single or dual).

Two-Way Driver Design: The Kanto REN speaker system features a two-way driver design with a 1" silk dome tweeter and 5.25" aluminum cone woofer for clear high and detailed midrange/midbass frequencies.

• 1" Silk Dome Tweeter: The REN's 1" silk dome tweeter provides smooth, extended treble and is tuned for long, fatigue-free listening sessions. Special care was taken when designing the waveguide to enhance REN's vertical dispersion. With its wide vertical and horizontal directivity, the REN speaker system sounds just as good standing upright as it does lying sideways.
• 5.25" Aluminum Cone Woofer: The 5.25" aluminum cone woofer cone is both lightweight and rigid, allowing for accurate midrange and midbass reproduction. The 5.25" aluminum cone woofer also utilizes a rubber surround for long-lasting performance with deeper bass.

Bass Reflex Cabinet: The Kanto REN powered speaker system utilizes a bass reflex enclosure design with a rear-firing slot port for greater efficiency and bigger bass response. The Kanto REN powered speaker system also comes with a set of cloth grilles that attach magnetically.

DSP Modes: The Kanto REN features DSP control, enabling advanced sound modes such as Vocal Boost and Night Mode to enhance dialogue clarity and moderate loud sound effects during late-night viewing. This ensures precise audio reproduction without missing dialogue or disturbing neighbors.

• Vocal Boost: Vocal Boost increases midrange frequencies found in the human voice to improve intelligibility when dialogue is quiet.
• Night Mode: Night Mode applies a high-pass filter to the speakers and mutes any attached subwoofer to reduce low frequency content that could transmit to other areas of your home or through walls. A small amount of compression is also applied in this mode to gently reduce the volume of quick, loud sound effects.

Built-In Bluetooth 5.3: The Kanto REN features built-in Bluetooth 5.3 with support for wireless audio streaming (A2DP) and control (AVRCP). You'll be able to wirelessly stream stored music, music apps, and other audio content from your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer to the REN speaker system. You'll also be able to control basic playback functions (such as Volume Up/Down, Play/Pause, and Previous/Next Track) from the included remote. You can pair multiple Bluetooth devices with the Kanto REN, but only one source device can be connected and used for playback at a time. The speaker system has a wireless range of approximately 33'.

• Song/artist/album information will still be handled by your Bluetooth-enabled source device and not the Kanto REN.
• The Kanto REN does not support Bluetooth hands-free communication (HFP) for making or answering phone calls from your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone.

USB-DAC: Featuring a built-in DAC (digital-to-analog) and USB-C port (located on the powered speaker), the REN lets you connect directly to your computer (Windows or Mac) via USB, eliminating any interference that your computer’s on-board sound-card may pick-up while enjoying a fully digital, high-quality audio connection. The REN's USB DAC supports 2ch stereo PCM/WAV music files up to 24-bit/96kHz resolution. When connecting your computer via USB connection, the noisy built-in DAC of your computer is bypassed, and the audio signals are instead decoded by the REN's high-quality DAC, delivering rich and distortion-free sound to the speakers.

• Please ensure you have changed the proper audio output settings in your computer, so audio signals are output to the REN speakers and not to your computer's internal speakers. Select "USB Audio DAC" as the output device in your computer audio settings.
• No separate USB drivers are required for Windows PC or Mac.
• The Kanto REN's USB-C port does not support USB thumbdrives, smartphones, tablets, hubs, or card-readers.

Digital Audio Inputs: The Kanto REN is equipped with a HDMI ARC jack and optical (toslink) digital input that support 2ch PCM audio, up to 24-bit/96kHz (not compatible with Dolby Digital or DTS).

• HDMI ARC: The HDMI ARC jack allows for connection to your TV's HDMI ARC input, so you can listen to your TV's sound through the Kanto REN speaker system. The HDMI ARC connection also offers CEC compatibility, so you can control the speaker system's volume level with your TV remote control.
• Optical Toslink: The optical (toslink) digital input allows connection of a TV, Blu-ray player, media streamer, or other external audio device.

Analog Aux Inputs: The Kanto REN is outfitted with two analog Aux inputs, consisting of one analog stereo RCA input and one analog 3.5mm input for connecting an external audio component or portable audio device.

Sub Out: The Kanto REN is equipped with a mono-RCA subwoofer output (located on the powered speaker) for connecting a powered subwoofer (sold separately - see Accessories Tab) to add deep, low bass to the speaker system. A built-in low pass crossover network automatically kicks in when a subwoofer is connected sending all frequencies above 80Hz (@ 24dB/oct) to the speakers and below to the sub, allowing the REN speaker system to focus on the mid and high frequencies - playing louder with less distortion.

Control Options: The Kanto REN offers front-panel & remote control.

• Front-Panel Dial: There is a 3-way rotary knob on the front of the powered speaker that controls Power On/Off, Source Selection and Volume Up/Down functions. The LEDs on the front-panel indicate source selection.
• IR Remote: The included remote gives you wireless control over the Kanto REN speaker system. From the remote you'll be able to quickly swap the left and right channels, disable auto power-down, dim the front LED, control USB or Bluetooth playback, and many more. The remote is powered by two "AAA" batteries (not included and sold separately).

Mounting & Placement Options: The REN powered speaker system is designed for either desktop, bookshelf, or stand mounting to enhance your computer audio listening in a near-field environment; but can also be used in a standard 2ch stereo application. The speakers come with self-adhesive rubber feet to protect your furniture (the feet add approximately 0.125" to the overall height of the speakers). • The space between the two speakers and the distance from the rear wall is important. If the speakers are positioned too close or too far apart, stereo imaging will not be fully developed.
  
• The REN is designed to perform optimally positioned at least 7.875" to 9.875" from the rear wall for best bass response.
• Regardless of the setup you choose, keep in mind that rooms vary in shape, size, and furnishing; a certain amount of experimentation may be necessary to determine the most suitable position that delivers the most satisfying sound performance.

Power Requirements: The Kanto REN comes with a detachable 68" AC power cord that plugs into the back of the powered speaker and into an AC power wall outlet or surge protector (sold separately - see Accessories Tab). The passive speaker does not require AC power.
