Perfect for B&W 702 S3s
Gary from Las Vegas, NV on 4/28/2025
Replaced a cheap SVS sub ($300). Paired up with B&W 702-S3s and B&W center channel. The sub really adds alot of impact and clear articulated bass to the music. Especially evident when playing EDM or other bass heavy genres. Highly reccomend
Pros: The articulated bass
Cons: Heavy, large size

GoldenEar SuperSub XXL
Crutchfield customer from CONCORD, NC on 1/11/2024
This thing is big and doesn't vibrate much either which is awesome. Digs low and musically amazing. When I seen crutchfield rated it number 1 sub for 2024 I got even more excited. Amazing sub, I got it on sale for 855 off. So im lucky, but wow quality piece for sure.
Pros: Different world of quality from anything I'm used to before it.
Cons: Not a con really but it is heavy. 82 pounds.

Thunderous lows with ease
Ronnie from SEAFORD, DE on 1/7/2024
Absolutely amazing sub. My father just replaced his 2 SVS 12in subs in a 5.2 system with this sub and for movies the XXL sounds so much more life like if those are the right words to use. Thunderous tight clean bass with ease. For music it sounds about equal but that's still saying something. I thought he was wasting his money and making a mistake, but this sub will surpass anyone's expectations that purchases it.
Pros: Smaller footprint then having 2 separate subs and does the job better imo
Cons: None to speak of at this time.

GoldenEar SuperSub XXL
Alan from Irvine, CA on 1/16/2023
This subwoofer fits the perfect balance for my needs. I'm comparing this to a 1000w RMS sealed 18" a 600w RMS sealed 15", and a 400w RMS ported 12" The clean and tight output in the 20hz to 60hz range that I prefer sounds so good. It easily bests the other brands that I have in comparison. The size is perfect and the clean piano black finish ooks great, not overwhelming in my living room. I listen to 80% music, a combination of smooth jazz, Ambient, 80/90s rock/R&B and its integrated with Polk LSis all over the room. For HT, my 18" is my best for the super deep 14HZ explosions, followed by my 15, but the XXL hits just as hard if not harder above 20 and the impact is startling and catches me off guard more than the others. It does an amazing job at sorting out the different drums and deep tones for me. I can't listen to it long enough,
Pros: Music, all genres Detailed bass Pronounced deep tones to 20hz Startling with sound explosions Perfect size, finish
Cons: Under 20hz is limited.

Happily mess your hair
Maria from Arvada, CO on 12/31/2022
This sub has filled a very big roll to play. It was added to a surround 7+2 channel Golden ear Trident set of five speakers plus two rear channel McIntosh floor standing 13 driver speakers driven by McIntosh seven + 2 channel home theater amps. The system sounded awesome before. This new sub blends perfectly and now it can mess up your hair.
Pros: Outstanding control and blending of full spectrum bass instruments and explosions. Fully responds to McIntosh system tuning especially with LFE
Cons: No WiFi adjustments

Matt from Union on 4/26/2022
One of the best most efficient subs I've ever heard. So well balanced and powerful. a true audiophile subwoofer.
Pros: Powerful, fills the room with only 1 sub. Very well balanced and smooth. Music sounds fantastic.
Cons: None that I can think of.

This thing is an absolute gorilla :-0
Colin from Far North Dallas, TX on 4/11/2022
Replaced a (totally awesome) Forcefield 4 with this. At first the bass output didn't exist as expected, then after much fiddling I moved the SUB to the opposite side of the room. THEN it came alive (my roof rafters won't last very long). It seems the multiple (4!) radiating surfaces of this sub, though expected to increase output, can (in some locations) work against itself due to room acoustics. Once the placement is correct however, stand back and feel your walls get demolished with eyepopping authority. I've been designing Sub systems for car audio for 30 years. Passive radiator systems are more like "bandpass" subwoofer boxes. The "pass frequency range" is where the radiator shines. This Super sub accomplishes that frequency range in the very lowest of sub-octaves (<20Hz) while managing a really smooth transition at both ends of the range. When using the LFE input, adjustability is limited to gain control so some sort of external crossover (home theater receiver with LFE output?) is needed to feed this the correct information. There is also no ON/OFF switch. Power is by signal sensing. This is truly a SET AND FORGET type subwoofer unit.
Pros: Subterranean levels of bass for mid to large rooms. Due to the inertial balancing, it does its work with just about no vibration (touch it in action and you'd wonder if this thin is even turned on). Very musical and smooth.
Cons: HEAVY! (weighs a hernia) Required Freight delivery service. A bit pricey but the technology of size is what you pay for.

Golden Ear XXL
Lon from WAGONER, OK on 1/14/2022
The XXL replaced my B&W DB4S, that quit after 6 months. I'm glad it quit! The XXL has twice the bass it hits hard. This is the best sub I've ever owned. Crutchfield did great with the shipping.
Pros: Hard hitting, room filling bass , beautiful gloss black cabinet.
Cons: It's not cheap and it's built like a small tank.

Small cainet big sound
Crutchfield customer from Marstons Mills, MA on 12/12/2021
Don't let the size of these subs fool you into thinking it has little output. These subs are absolutely beastly for sound. Clean tight accurate sound with a lot of that low end extension that traditional ported subs have, but these girls are sealed. I think my favorite part of these subs is, they are completely inert. They transfer zero mechanical energy to your home, acoustic energy only. Gobs and gobs of room filling bass.
Pros: Small size, huge sound, stylish cabinet, easy to use, amazing Customer service from both Crutchfield and GoldenEar
Cons: None that I've found as of yet.
