Excellent LP Clamp
Mark from Pittsford, NY on 5/30/2025
Excellent product Most people don't know the importance of a LP clamp. It reduces Record slide so that the LP doesn't slide on the turn table platter. It also allows the Phono Cartridge to track truer giving you a better sound out of your speakers. My original clamp was a spider clamp and was made out of plastic (JUNK). The Record doctor record clamp is just so well made. All of the components are aluminum, with a great clamping assembly. Not to mention the laser etched top of the clamp nob. This LP clamp was designed to last for years.
Pros: Well Made. Top of the line components used for the assembly.
Cons: NONE!

Sized right
Barry from Webster, IA on 2/17/2025
I have a dust cover on my turntable and this fits under case well. It's well built and works like I wanted it to. I would have liked it to be a few more ounces heavier for some of my older albums but overall will have years of enjoyment.
Pros: well built, low profile excellent for turntables with dust covers.
Cons: Could have been a little heavier.

The Doctor Prescribed A Record Clamp And More Cowbell
Roger from Crescent City, CA on 2/5/2025
Really nice medium weight clamp with positive screw down locking to spindle. It has a felt ring cushion on the bottom and a nice black chrome finish. I have a JBL 350TT Classic. The usable spindle height is 1/2 inch, which leaves plenty of room for the clamp. If you have an older table with a little nubby spindle, clamps may not work for you. It also came in a giant box with lots of packing peanuts which you can pass on to someone else when you need to send a package, lol. Priced right, too.

Great Clamp, Needs a Washer, might be a surprise result! ^^v
Howard from Apopka, FL on 12/19/2024
Works as advertised. My only quibble is that it doesn't come with a felt washer or something equivalent. I am using it on a stock AT LP8X and the platter mat is recessed in the center just enough, in that when using the clamp it can cause the record to dip in the center more so. Generally and easy fix, as I have been able to order a soft felt washer from some online parts stores, at about 3mm think fitting the dimensions well as some other products. Interestingly enough, I had initially purchased this clamp to help with a severely dish warped record, upon using it (without a felt washer) I noticed that the warp initially got worse, I removed the clamp, and the original dish warp is now gone and that specific album hasn't had any warping issues since. I'm not saying that the clamp will fix all warped records, but I think my particular scenario yielded this result by chance perhaps.
Pros: solid build easy to use
Cons: no felt washer/(s)

Does not work on my spinfle
Mark from AUSTIN, TX on 10/4/2024
This is a poor design because the clamp cannot reach my spindle. The height needed to reach a lower spindle was not taken into account in the design. Not going to work unless the spindle clears the top of the record by more than 1/8 of an inch

Record Doctor Low-profile Record Clamp
Johan from Phoenix, AZ on 3/4/2024
This record clamp very well, and is light weight. It doesnt need much pressure to clamp to the spindle of my JVC QL-A7. The only pressure applied is the nice soft surface ring between the clamp and the album.

I feel jipped
Guest from New Hyde Park, NY on 11/18/2022
I bought this product about two or three years ago and was satisfied even though it fell apart about four months ago. So I ordered another one, not expecting to pay more money for a product half the size of the original. Too bad. No weight to it so I have to push down hard to clamp it.

Not For My Rig
Jeffrey from Pittsburgh on 4/8/2022
At least on a Technics SL-1210GR, this clamp just doesn't cut it. Maybe the spindle on that machine is simply too short for this device to get a good grip, but I cannot get it to grab without more downward force than I feel comfortable with. And half the time the record is still not clamped well. On top of that, the whole thing came apart once while I was removing it and crashed onto the surface of the record and damaged it. I'll be looking for something else.

Just so so
James from OCALA, FL on 4/3/2022
This has a bit of weight to it so I suppose it may help a little with some of my records that are not 180g vinyl. That's the only good thing I can say about it however. You really have to crank the hell out of that knob to get it any where near to clamping down on the record player's spindle. Maybe this will get better with time as the clamp gets more broke in, we will see.

Works, but.
Crutchfield customer from Bogalusa, LA on 8/2/2021
I really believe it helps in the overall sound of the record and am happy from that standpoint. The problem I had with the low profile model was the collet that slips over the spindle is made of some kind of metal that attracts a magnet. Not brass as described in the description. It didn't "feel" right taking it on and off the spindle. Crutchfield was great and sent another low profile replacement. Same issue. I sent that one back and got the regular height model which indeed does have a BRASS collet which I know will not damage my spindle. I don't play records with the cover on so the taller model is not an issue, just have to store it outside of the Turntable with cover on. Customer Service is GREAT!!

Avoid if you have a Rega/Achromat combination
Crutchfield customer from Corvallis, OR on 7/12/2021
I have a Rega P8 turntable with a 3.5mm funk-firm-achromat-platter-mat. This clamp does not work on my setup. First of all, getting it to clamp to the spindle is almost impossible. When I do get lucky and the collet grasps the spindle, high frequency retrieval is severely comprimised. If you have a Rega with an Achromat, I suggest avoiding this.

Very highly recommended
Crutchfield customer from Las Vegas, NV on 6/3/2021
I was told long ago that everyone should have a good record clamp. At first I thought it would be a waste of time and money, boy was I wrong. Even my wife could hear the difference. Well made, easy to use,, makes the sound 'better',,, I should say different, not necessarily better or worse. You my not like the relaxed feel of the piece on your TT and the difference. I personally love it. It almost has a tube type sound....more relaxed, softer. Biggest passive improvement made to my system yet!
Pros: Very well made. Easy to use
Cons: Changes the sound, I like, you may not

Works with short spindles
Crutchfield customer from Moorpark, CA on 5/8/2021
I have an a Clearaudio Emotion turntable with a short spindle (8 mm above the record). This is one of the few true clamps that will attach to the spindle. It is a real upgrade to the "clever clamp" that came with the turntable.
