Features
Three-Way Bookshelf Loudspeaker: The Wharfedale Super Denton is a three-way bookshelf loudspeaker which incorporates a 1" textile soft-dome tweeter, 2" texitle soft-dome midrange, and a 6.5" woven Kevlar cone woofer. The tweeter and midrange driver are offset from the center, which helps maintain the speaker's compact stature and scatter reflections from the cabinet edges. The 3-way driver system is managed by a highly researched crossover network that features air-core coils and polypropylene capacitors in the midrange and treble circuits for distortion-free performance.
- 1" Tweeter: High frequencies are handled by a 1" woven textile soft-dome tweeter with a ceramic motor system and rear chamber for resonance-free high frequency extension that is both smooth and detailed.
- 2" Midrange: The 2" textile soft-dome midrange driver delivers upper-midrange and lower-treble frequencies with assurance. The wide dispersion of this dome diaphragm is responsible for the clarity and finesse that brings musical performance alive, seamlessly transitioning from the fundamental tones carried by the bass unit to the harmonic overtones further up the frequency range.
- 6.5" Woofer: The 6.5" woofer features Wharfedale's innovative woven Kevlar cone mounted on a rigid die-cast chassis. This driver handles both bass and lower-midrange frequencies with engaging definition and expression, bringing instruments and voices to life.
"Classic"-Style Cabinet: The Wharfedale Super Denton features a "classic"-style bookshelf enclosure that is beautifully hand veneered in a Black, Mahogany or Walnut finish. It features an inset front baffle and traditional black cloth grille. The cabinet itself uses a combination of woods to scatter panel resonances rather than having a single, audibly apparent resonant frequency. An inner layer of high-density particle board is bonded to an outer layer of MDF by an inter-layer of special glue with resonance-damping properties. The cabinet also employs critically placed bracing and internal acoustic damping using layers of long-hair fiber, along with dedicated rear enclosure for the tweeter and midrange driver for a natural uncolored sound.
- Dual Rear Ports: The Wharfedale Super Denton utilizes a bass reflex design for its speaker enclosure with two rear-firing ports that aid in increasing efficiency and delivering bigger bass response.
- Acoustic Grilles: Please note that the speaker's dispersion is aided by the front grille which should be left on for optimum listening performance. Removing the grille will produce a brighter but less smooth sound.
Binding Posts: Each bookshelf loudspeaker features a set of binding posts that will accept bare wire (up to 10AWG), pin connectors, spade connectors, & banana plugs (single only).
Mounting & Placement Options: The bookshelf loudspeaker can simply be mounted on a speaker stand (sold separately - see Accessories Tab), tabletop, shelf, or other piece of furniture with a solid flat surface. Self-adhesive rubber pads are included to place on the bottom of the speaker to protect your mounting surface and provide greater stability. The rubber pads add approximately 0.125" to the overall height of the speaker.
- The Super Denon is manufactured in matched, mirror-imaged pairs. With one speaker optimized for the left channel and the other for the right; accurate stereo imaging within a deep, broad soundstage is assured when the speakers are positioned appropriately.
- Try to position the loudspeakers equidistant from one another and the main listening position. The speakers should ideally be positioned so that the tweeters are roughly at ear level to a seated listener. The speakers can also be "toed" or angled (up to 30°) into the main listening position to control the soundstage or "sweet-spot". If the loudspeakers are placed too close to the walls the bass will increase but may be boomy and indistinct. If the loudspeakers are placed further away from the walls,
Note: The Super Denton does not include a bracket, keyhole slot, or threaded insert to wall-mount the speaker.

Absolutely amazing speakers when mated to the cambridge audio cxa81. The sound is full and detailed. I think they actually sound better than the wharfedale lintons I have. I wish they had matching stands like the lintons do but I was able to make the wharfedale evo stands work just fine.
