A keeper
Rick from Enola, PA on 12/28/2022
A great looking weight! Comes in a nice storage box too. Nice metal machining and a rubber bottom to protect record labels and offer further damping. I have/had several weights and clamps and this is a keeper. I don't think I hear a noticeable difference with or without as my hearing isn't what it once was. The walnut top matches the walnut legs of my stereo stand and other accessories I have pretty much perfectly! Using on a Thorens direct drive turntable. Very pleased with this, and its price! Thank you Crutchfield for carrying yet another quality item!
Pros: Possible tighter bass dynamics. Beautiful looking IMO! Fair price, also IMO. The weight of this should be ok for belt drive tables as well.
Cons: None

Zero quality control
Charles from Phoenix, AZ on 9/14/2022
Upon opening the box it was immediately clear the wood insert was warped. One side of the wood insert was lifting up out of the aluminum body. I tried to gently press it back in and all this resulted in was the insert rocking over and the other side lifting up. The glue or whatever they use was barely holding it in. I figured I would just order a replacement but wanted to see it on the turntable before sending it back. Here is where the real problem was. The hole drilled out for the spindle was way to big. With the record weight installed, I could slide it back and forth several mm in any direction. Freeplay is one thing, but this was just poor manufacturing. I have a groovetracer sub-platter with a precision machined spindle, so I know the spindle isn't the issue. An eccentric record weight defeats the whole purpose of having a record weight.
Pros: Looks nice (assuming the wood insert isn't warped)
Cons: Poor manufacturing quality

Practical Device
Jack from Burnsville, NC on 8/29/2022
I have 2 other weights but I love the wood on this one and the metal is machined beautifully for looks and a firm grip. I use a solid brass platter on my direct drive turntable and this device keeps the record spinning safe and secure with no slippage. This is a great company to buy from. Get this while you can.!
Pros: LP is secured on platter. Less distortion on record even if slightly warped.
Cons: The only con is not buying one.

Andover Audio Record Damping Weight
Don from CARLSBAD, CA on 8/11/2022
I think it helped the sound. It made the records that had a little warp flatter and sound better. Wish my AT-20SLa cartridge didn't rub against the side of the weight if I don't lift the arm in time at the end of the record. Looks well made and is good looking.

Not a bad idea to tame slightly warped vinyl
Leonard from Baldwin, NY on 3/9/2022
Very high quality. I enjoy it because it prevents the album from slipping on the mat while I run the carbon fiber brush across the vinyl. I also notice the tone arm stays dead level with no up and down bobbing. Also bumping into my stereo cabinet does not skip record anymore. A real good purchase. I spent thousands on my equipment from Crutchfield so I had a lot of points so I basically got this for free.
Pros: Dampens vibration
Cons: It's a little on the light side. Wish it were a few ounces heavier. Other than that no complaints.

Precise and gorgeous dampener
Ryan from Massillon, OH on 3/3/2022
An exquisite and well machined piece of kit. The wood "Andover" inlay is tasteful and classy. The edges are smooth, yet the sides are knurled but very secure and comfortable to grab and handle. The weight just looks and feels high end. I truly believe this piece grounds my LP's and gives them more substance and foundation from which the cartridge plays off of. This was the most affordable damper I've found which is surprising. It's a sure aesthetic pleaser for any table. Can you tell I like it? Highly recommended.
Pros: Exceptional craftsmanship. Stunningly good looking. Effective at grounding the record and providing an additional several percent of performance points from any system. Completes the overall look and feel of any audiophile's system. I took it to my friends for the day while hanging out and playing records all day and by the time I left he had one ordered. Simply cool as hell......period!
Cons: Slightly less than 10oz.....I'm curious as to what benefits an even heavier dampener would have?

As nice as expected
CD in NYC from Queens, NY on 12/28/2021
I picked this up after being reassured it was compatible with a new Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO in walnut in the Q&A section here. It fits on the spindle with a satisfying action, it is machined exactly right. Not as heavy as I thought - I have a record clamp for very warped LPs but prefer this for everyday use since it doesn't take any force to install. Good sonic performance and the combo of the walnut TT, this weight plus a Pro-Ject Cork-It mat is a thing of beauty.
Pros: Well-machined Good design
Cons: None

Best one for the price anywhere!
Crutchfield customer from Denison, TX on 11/6/2021
This is a nice looking weight and holds down records better than a cheaper wood one that I bought elsewhere. This also has a lower height that allows me close the cover while playing my Rega P1. Highly recommended!
Pros: Low height, and enough weight to keep records from slipping on a stock Rega mat.
Cons: None.

Precision Made Record Weight
Crutchfield customer from Jacksonville, FL on 9/28/2021
This is the nicest record damping record weight you will find anywhere. It is crafted beautifully. I have found that Andover has top quality products. I own their Spinbase speaker system from Crutchfield. Later I purchased the Spinbase Subwoofer and then the the matching stand that perfectly holds the equipment. The sound that this system produces is phenomenal for its size. I currently am using a Sony Automatic Turntable (also available from Crutchfield) for my turntable. For my needs an automatic or semi automatic fills my needs. The Andover Spinbase Turntable is awesome but it is a manual turntable and for my needs it is not convenient. I own the Spinbase but I am not using it. Quality and sound wise the Spinbase is perfect. I can highly recommend any Andover product.
Pros: Top Quality Crafted Record Weight
Cons: None
