better than i expected
Mark from CARRIERE, MS on 7/3/2025
So far, I love it. The unit (another brand) that was originally installed in my 5th wheel was clearly dated. The left channel on the audio had died and the old unit did not Gee Haw with bluetooth. i had to make wood spacers (filler blocks) so this unit would fit the hole in the cabinet. No problem as I have a well equipped woodworking shop. This unit is perfect as far as function. It sounds great. I love that I can have the tv running on speaker #1 inside the camper, and bluetooth music running on speaker #3, outside. The front Hgo DMI connector allows me to run a portable blueray player, or a standard DVD in the unit itself. My last camping trip, I was in a state park at the bottom of a very tall dam. No cell service, no TV, no wifi, and only one sorry radio station and the only movie we had on disk was a blueray, with no way to play it. At least the fishing was good. I also use this 5th wheel as a season long deer camp. Once the new Starlink mini gets here, we will be set for anything. I would recommend this unit to anyone who wants a great sounding unit, with lots of features. Many of them, I'll probably never use. One word of caution, the "Manual" that comes in the box is wasted paper. Go to Crutchfield and download the .pdf manual. It is very comprehensive. I printed it out, it's like 94 pages.

Nice unit for the price.
Matthew Erik from Poplar Grove, IL on 4/21/2025
Nice unit to replace my, circa 2009 Jensen system. The unit is smaller that the removed unit so some fabrication needed to be done to shrink the hole. Three zone sound works great and the zone 3 can be an entirely media controlled separately. This is a great feature! I use it for the outside speakers. The remote is small and hard to read, but this is a small irritation overall. I couldn't give it five stars because the buttons are not backlit. This is not a huge deal, but in terms of modern electronics it's kind of strange that it does not have that feature. Overall it's a nice unit and the only one I found with a three-zone output.
Pros: Nice size and features.
Cons: No backlit buttons and small, bad contrast buttons on the remote

High quality replacement system
Thomas from Charleston, SC on 12/7/2024
We needed a replacement for a 2013-vintage Jensen DVD stereo unit with 3 speaker zones in our travel trailer, and this Furrion unit's specs met my basic requirements. It had a much smaller front profile yet extended more deeply into the cabinet, so I bought a suitably sized 1/2" thick black acrylic sheet and cut/sanded/polished it to provide a nice looking panel within which to mount the new unit (along with a 3-piece plywood backing panel system to mount everything securely). I also ended up using a 90 degree HDMI adapter and 90 degree RCA audio plug adapters for the required cable interfaces to more safely accommodate the limited space behind the unit after installation even with the 1/2" standoff provided by the acrylic panel. The end result looked even better than I'd hoped...the unit and all of the cables ended up fitting very nicely...and everything is working great!
Pros: User friendly interfaces Good video resolution Decent audio output power
Cons: Mounting depth requirement Cutout required is offset from unit's center axis

POOR ENGINEERING
Thomas from Seminole, FL on 11/13/2024
COVER YOUR EARS! I purchased the DV1230 to replace my DV1200 because the DVD/CD side of my DV1200 stopped playing discs. I like to watch movies when I'm "on the road".... After the install, I printed the 32 page "owners manual" off of the internet, inserted my "go to movie" and sat back in my seat to see how the DV1230 worked. THERE WAS NO VOLUME? The radio and USB side of the DV1230 worked fine at a setting of 5-7 on the volume knob but the DVD/CD player required a setting of 20-22 so you could hear the movie? So, I ejected the disc and that's when it happened.....the FM tuner came back on and the VOLUME WAS AT 22! My speakers almost EXPLODED out of the ceiling! I consulted the manual, no info. I tried another DVD, same result. I called "Lippert/Furrion" tech line and explained the issue. After being on hold for a few minutes while the "Tech Guy" researched the issue, he replied. "That's the way it is....different media requires different volume control". I mentioned that the DV1200 didn't have this issue, but he didn't seem to interested. Fortunately, the Crutchfield organization sent me a "RGA/UPS" label without any resistance. I wasn't "Satisfied with my purchase" was all they needed to hear. THANK YOU, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
Pros: Worked great until I played a movie!
Cons: Poor engineering/design will destroy your sound system

Good Unit but does have user interface Issues
Timothy from Biltmore Lake, NC on 7/12/2024
I would like to rate it with 4 or 5 stars, but can't based on the issues listed in the Cons list below. The good features include a reasonably easy to read and interpret PDF instruction manual. The sound quality is good. I do miss the power from our previous stereo that bit the dust, but this should work for us, I just have to turn the volume control to 75% or better. I might reach out to Crutchfield Techs for some advice. Overall this is a good replacement, with minor modification to the existing opening in the cabinet and was an easy install.
Pros: 1. The bluetooth connection is reliable and easily to connect, as well as reconnect. 2. When we sometimes play a DVD, I expect that I will use this unit and likely remove our DVD player from the rig. The Furrion DVD player will not transmit in Blueray, but we have a low resolution tv in our rig, so no big deal. 3. The interface screen display is good, but only after some use, I can now recognize all of the information displayed
Cons: 1. The buttons on the face of the unit are small and not lit. In order to use them I always need to use a flashlight, day or night. 2. The credit card sized remote is also a terrible design. The buttons are identified with black letters on a dark gray background and almost impossible to read. The best way to adjust the EQ is using the remote. Where is my flashlight again? 3. The App will not recognize or connect to this unit. So this Furrion advertised feature is worthless.

Zone 3
Jack from Riverside, CA on 6/7/2024
Nice unit on the outside has the hook-ups for HDMI yet not that simple to control has a Zone 3 which I thought would drive a third set of speakers but it is not so simple Zone 3 volume has to be controlled separately and must be adjusted from the unit itself so If your control is in your RV then it has to be controlled from their not the remote If you want to use arc control then it has to be plugged in on the front of the unit
Pros: n ice unit
Cons: Zone 3 has to be controlled separately be careful when you get ready to buy look at the fine print

Awesome system!
Michelle from Moore, ID on 5/17/2024
So glad they had a replacement for our 2016 version that went out. It's smaller than the old one but we can deal with that, we are just happy they had one and it works great!! Best customer service too. When they said we would have it in two days, they meant it!
Pros: It's easy to run and works great!
Cons: Smaller than the old one so we have a gap, but not a deal breaker since the old one was discontinued.

Good rv unit
Mark from Sabinal, TX on 10/17/2022
It works well. I wish the buttons lit up they can be hard to see. I have issues with the fan not working but Crutchfield will be sending a replacement. Documentation is not the greatest in the box but you can get the information online. Only zone 3 can be independent which I knew when I got it. Remote is really small but some may like that I would have preferred a larger remote. Overall it works pretty nice in my Rv. I have ordered 2 amps to match it to the speakers I installed. But overall I am happy with it. It is better than the Jensen I had by far.
Pros: Small doesn't take up a lot of space
Cons: Had to create a new faceplate to mount it. Only 50w max per channel. If you use some good speakers plan on amps
