Amazing sound and quiet background allowing you to hear only the music. Very detailed but warm. I've heard parts of the tracks I've never heard. Very spacious. Paired it with my Marantz AV 10 processor, Emotiva XPA power amplifiers, and Polk Reserve 700 speakers. Amazing!

Amazing streamer

This is a great streamer with wonderful sound. It is perfect for someone who already has a nice pre amp/DAC and does not need a built in pre amp. I have an Anthem AVM90 which already has a high end DAC so I wanted a box that focused on streaming only rather than other bells and whistles. I tried and Eversolo A8 and while it is an excellent streamer for the price, the sound quality doesn't compare to the Rose 130. With Eversolo you are paying for an all in one solution, DAC, streamer, pre amp. So while it is GOOD at all of those things, I wanted a streamer that did one thing and one thing only, provide SUPERB streaming sound quality. Another feature I love about the Rose is the HDMI 2.0 4K video output. This allows me to display video on my TV while streaming music instead of a blank red screen from my AVM90 which displays when no video input is detected. You can also stream or display stored videos, a nice feature. App is very easy to use and I like the GUI. Takes no time to set up and start streaming. It is also future proof by allowing you to use an external clock and DAC. One very minor disappointment was the lack of CEC HDMI. This would have been nice as it would automatically turn my system on/off in sync with the Rose. Not a big deal, just an extra step of turning the unit on/off, perhaps they can add this as a firmware update. Overall the unit is very expensive but if you can swing the cost, I don't think you will be disappointed.
