Solid, but klunky software
Paul from Fountain, CO on 10/1/2024
It is solid. Quiet. Pretty easy to start using, once you figure out how to navigate to the CD burning section on my RS250a. My CDs are taking 5-10 minutes to burn. Playing from the 780, via my RS250A the CDs sounded great. Playing from the 2TB hard drive, I have in my RS250a, sounds just as good. I am still learning the "software" The software, in this day and age, is lacking. This might be more of an issue with RS250a vice the 780, but they go together. For example, I have a few older CDs with no Album name or artist data encoded on the disk. I can manually type it from the 8 inch screen on the 250, but it would be nice to do it from the app on my computer. Also, I haven't figured out how to manipulate the files, for the copied CDs, on the RS250a hard drive. I am not sure if you can and again, it would be nice to do it from the app on the computer. For example, it would be nice to make a file on the hard drive titled "Christmas" and then dump all my Christmas CDs in that folder.....from my computer. Maybe you can, I haven't figured it out. It would be nice. This item was in the "Scratch and Dent" section....I see no scratches or dents, looks great. 4 stars due to the software......I know that is on the RS250a, but.....
Pros: Solid Quiet Easy to use once process figured out. Crutchfield Customer Service!
Cons: Software to use the 780 on RS250a Software flexibility A little expensive, even with scratch and dent and my points

A nice Ripp'r - HiFi Rose RSA780E
Crutchfield customer from Bend, OR on 11/15/2021
For what it is, it is great for my 150. This unit is really meant to rip to SSD and not play disks or replace a reference transport. The unit itself is heavy, well built, and comes with a nice USB shielded cable so for me no need to upgrade the cable which is nice. Not sure on the guts but headed to rip all my CD's and I do not expect any problems. For sure there are less expensive options but like most stuff, if you buy quality from a quality company /mfg (Crutchfield / Rose) you only have to buy once.
Pros: Well built, Rose to Rose, nice ascetics, USB cable is quality and long enough to place unit out of the way.
Cons: Price
