A 2022 FDA ruling has made cost-effective over-the-counter hearing aids readily available to everyone. Lexie's new rechargeable B2 hearing aids are powered by Bose technology and backed by the work of scientists, audiologists, and engineers with decades of experience under their belt.
Robust app controls make self-fitting a breeze
To self-fit the B2s to your ears, you'll need to download the Lexie app (available for iOS® and Android™) and pair the hearing aids to your smartphone over Bluetooth®. The app gives you precise control of loads of options to fine-tune the sound perfectly to your ears.
Note: Bluetooth is only used for communication between the B2 hearing aids and the app. Audio, including music and calls, cannot be streamed to the B2s.
Here's a look at the adjustments available in the app:
- Bass and treble controls boost low and high frequencies to make speech and other sounds more intelligible depending on what your ears struggle with.
- Selectable directional focus modes let you choose how much sound the B2s focus on. If you want to hear everything around you, there's an option for that. There are also options for more focused listening that are perfect for tuning into conversations while blocking out other environmental sounds.
- Left/right balance adjustments let you send more sound to one ear or the other if you find one ear needs a little more of a boost.
- Lastly, the world volume level lets you set how loud the hearing aids are and helps to amplify quiet sounds.
More control options
There are also a set of onboard world volume buttons on the hearing aids themselves for making volume adjustments on the fly without having to pull your smartphone out.
If you find yourself constantly changing the settings to adapt to different situations, you'll be pleased to know that the app also features selectable, user-adjustable environmental presets. You can create settings for conversation, TV, or any other scenario you might find yourself in.
Rechargeable batteries for all-day hearing improvement
The B2s are rechargeable and can last up to 18 hours per battery charge. An audible warning lets you know when it's time to put the B2s back into their charging case for a few hours. Three hours in the case charges the B2s up to one hundred percent.
Note: The included charging case has no internal battery. In order for the B2 hearing aids to charge inside the case, the case must be connected to a USB charger.

Features
Overview: The Lexie B2 hearing aids are designed by a team of Bose scientists, audiologists, and engineers to help individuals with perceived mild-to moderate hearing impairment hear better. These OTC (over-the-counter) hearing aids can be easily fit and tuned by the user for optimum results. The Lexie app provides simple step-by-step instructions on setting up and controlling the Lexie B2s. The Lexie B2 comes with both open and closed silicone domes in small (1), medium (2), and large (3) sizes to fit any size ear. They are powered by rechargeable batteries with a hard-shell charging case.
Fitting: The B2 hearing aids are designed to be self-fitted by the user. Two types of domes are included in the package: open domes and closed domes. Open domes have vents around the center that help your voice sound more natural. Closed domes create a seal in the ear canal, providing more bass, and allowing you to use a higher volume setting. There are three sizes of open domes and closed domes included in the box to help you find the best type and size of dome that works for you. In addition, the receiver wire that comes in the box is Size 2 (medium). Using the receiver wire sizing tool included in the box, you can determine what size receiver wire is right for you. If you need a longer or shorter receiver wire, you should contact Lexie Support to get a replacement wire in your needed size.
Volume Control: Each B2 hearing aid features a rocker-style World Volume control on the hearing aid body to turn the sound level up or down as needed. Turning the volume control all the way down also powers off the hearing aid.
Rechargeable Battery: The Lexie B2 Powered by Bose is equipped with 25 mAh rechargeable batteries. The hearing aids recharge in the provided hard-shell charging case. When placed into the case, the hearing aids magnetically snap into place and align with the charging contacts. The charging case is powered by the included USB cable (USB-A to USB-C) and a USB wall charger or computer with an output of 5V / 500mA or higher (not included). The hearing aids fully charge in the case in approximately 3 hours. A full charge powers the hearing aids for up to 18 hours.
Note: Unlike most "true wireless" headphones, the B2's charging case does not charge the headphones without being connected to a USB charger. It has no battery power of its own.
Lexie App: The Lexie B2 hearing aids can be setup and controlled by the Lexie app on your smartphone. The hearing aids connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth Low Energy. Settings and Features in the app include:
- Directionality: The Everywhere setting should be used in most cases, while the Front setting is best for having a conversation in a noisy environment.
- World Volume: You can adjust the World Volume for each hearing aid (individually or combined). You can also mute the hearing aids, and adjust the left/right balance on the app.
- Tone Control: Swiping the Treble/Bass wheel up increases the treble to make sounds brighter, while swiping down increases the bass for deeper sounds.
- Hearing Environment: Select from Everyday Use, Noisy Indoors, Outdoors, and Music.
- Support: If needed, you can make a video call with a Lexie Expert to help with setup or troubleshooting.
- Rewards: The app offers Lexie Rewards and incentives for using your hearing aids.
- Lexie Blog: The Lexie Blog offers informative articles about hearing loss and hearing health.
- Compatibility: The Lexie app is available from the Apple App Store for iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 13.0 or later, and from Google Play for devices running Android 7.0 and up.

Maintenance: Regular maintenance is essential in keeping the B2 hearing aids working at optimum levels:
- Daily: After removing the hearing aids each day, you should clean earwax and debris from the domes and microphones with the provided brush. You should remove any moisture from the charging contacts with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Weekly: The receiver wires, charging contacts, and hearing aid body should be cleaned once a week with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Quarterly: The silicone domes should be replaced every three months, or immediately if they become discolored or stiff. The white plastic wax guards on the receiver should also be replaced quarterly. Replacement domes and wax guards are available from Lexie (lexiehearing.com).
- Yearly: New receiver wires should be installed on the hearing aids each year, or as needed.
