Overview: The Lorex Bluetooth Deadbolt Smart Lock with Touchpad (LK101-AA) is an easy-to-install solution for securing your front door. The Smart Lock offers four convenient ways to unlock the door, three that don't require a key. You can set up and control the lock, and track activity through the Lorex app. There are three different levels of control, and you can have up to 10 users, each with different permissions.

Security: The Bluetooth Smart Lock offers secure access and control, with 2-layer encryption and resistance to forced entry. The lock has ANSI Grade 2 certification that meets high security standards. The apps are protected with end-to-end encryption so your security codes are safe. The exterior assembly and latch are durable with enhanced construction that resists tampering, and can provide ample security in moderate-to-high risk areas. The lock is also UL-rated with a 20-minute fire rating for wooden doors. The Smart Lock is designed and tested for extreme cycle endurance so it will last for many years.

Design: The Smart Lock includes an exterior assembly with touchpad, an interior assembly with thumbturn, the latch with reinforced strike plates, and all the necessary installation hardware. The lock is powered by four "AA" alkaline batteries (not included). The LK101 is designed for wood or metal doors 1-3/8" to 2" thick. It requires a 2-1/8" or 1-1/2" diameter bore hole that is backset 2-3/8" to 2-3/4" from the edge of the door. The latch inserts into a 1" diameter hole in the edge of the door.

Touchpad: The exterior assembly features a 12-character touchpad and a keyed lock cylinder. The touchpad has white backlit numbers 1 through 0, C (clear), and a Lock icon. You can program up to 200 unique user entry codes of 4-8 digits. An audible beep sound is emitted by the lock during various functions. In the Lorex app, you can disable the beep tones in the settings menu.

Profile Levels: The Bluetooth Deadbolt Smart Lock can be used by up to 10 individuals, and provides three different levels of control. One user is designated as Owner, and has full controls. The other nine users can either be a Manager, who can create codes when assigned, or User, who can only access the lock with the code assigned.

Entry Codes: Entry codes are unique numeric combinations that are assigned to individual users, allowing them to lock or unlock the Smart Lock without a key. During Entry Code setup, you can set up to four entry code types:

• Permanent Code: The code is always active, typically given to family members.
• Single Entry Code: The code allows access only one time. This code can be given to delivery drivers, or persons who need access on a specific occasion.
• Scheduled Entry: The code is active only on specified days and times. These can be given to persons who need access on regular occasions within a time range or on certain days, such as dog walkers or housekeepers.
• Valid Time Range: The code is only active during designated start and end times, to allow limited access during a specific time range.

Entry Methods: There are four ways to lock and unlock the door:

• App Access: Using your Bluetooth-connected smartphone and the Lorex app, you can lock and unlock the Deadbolt Smart Lock with the press of a button. The Smart Lock recognizes your phone when paired, and allows entry when you press the lock/unlock button.
• Keypad: As an authorized user, you can enter your assigned 4-8 digit entry code to gain access.
• Key Access: You can operate the lock with the provided key.
• Auto Unlock/Lock: The Smart Lock automatically recognizes your smartphone while you're within a specific distance from the lock. If Auto-Unlock is enabled, the lock will automatically unlock as you approach the door. If Auto-Lock is turned on, the door will lock automatically after a selected time (10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute) after you close the door. GPS and Location Services on your phone must be turned on for this feature.

Vacation Mode: When you enable Vacation Mode, all entry codes are deactivated, except for administrative codes, to limit access to your home.

Lorex App: The Lorex App (formerly Lorex Home) lets you setup and control the Smart Lock from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. The app lets you view the status of the door lock and the battery charge level at a glance. Functions you can perform from the app include: lock/unlock, enable/disable Auto-Lock and Auto-Unlock, assign and maintain users and their entry codes, view lock history log, and enable/disable Vacation Mode. The Lorex App works with Apple iPhone/iPod touch (iOS 12.1+), Apple TV (tvOS 9.0+), and Apple Vision (visionOS 1.0+). It can also be used by a Mac with macOS 11.0 or later (with M1 chip or later. It is also compatible with Android devices, and requires Android OS 5.0 and up.
