Features
Overview: The DS18 G4000.5D is a 5-channel amplifier that's part of DS18's GEN-X series car amplifiers. It features four full-range channels that are bridgeable, and one mono subwoofer channel. The compact amplifer features a heavy-duty aluminum heat-sink chassis that helps keep the Class D amplifier circuitry cool and stable during high-output use.
RMS Power Output:
- 130W x 4 + 300W x 1 @ 4-ohms
- 220W x 4 + 600W @ 2-ohms
- 420W x 2 @ 4-ohms bridged (4 main channels)
- 900W x 1 @ 1-ohm (subwoofer channel)
Gain: Three rotary gain controls (Ch.1/2, 3/4, & 5) let you run low-level signals ranging from 250 mV up to 6 V.
Input Mode: A 3-way dial lets you select the input channels that will feed all 5 speaker outputs:
- 2 CH: Uses signals on Channels 1/2 only for all ouput channels.
- 4 CH: Uses signals on Channels 1/2 & 3/4 for all output channels.
- 5 CH: Lets you feed all 5 channels from all of the RCA inputs.
Two HPF Crossovers (Channels 1/2 and 3/4): A rotary High-Pass crossover dial lets you select the high-pass cutoff frequency from 10-250 Hz.
Subwoofer (Channel 5) Controls:
- LPF Crossover: A rotary dial lets you select the low-pass cutoff frequency from 50-250 Hz.
- Subsonic Filter: A rotary dial lets you remove subsonic frequencies from 10-50 Hz.
- Bass Boost: A rotary dial lets you apply 0-12 dB of boost centered at 45 Hz.
Power/Protect LED: A single LED will illuminate Green when the amp is powered on and will change to Red if the amplifier goes into protect mode. The Protect circuit can guard against Over-Heating, Over/Under Voltage, Short-Circuit, and DC Output.
Clip LED: A Clip LED will light to let you know the input signal (Gain) has reached the distortion point and will need to be lowered.
Remote Level Control: An included remote level control lets you adjust the subwoofer level from the driver's seat; level range is variable from 6 V to 0.25 V (250 mV). The remote level control features Clip and Power/Protection LED indicators for added convenience. A 16' remote level control cable, terminated in RJ-45 connectors, is included.

Power Terminals: The power, ground, and remote inputs use set-screw terminals; power and ground terminals will accommodate up to 4-gauge wire (recommended), while the remote turn-on terminal can accept wire up to 12-gauge (18-gauge is usually sufficient). The set screws are tightened/loosened using a Philips-head screwdriver (not included).
Fuses: The DS18 G4000.5D does not include any fuses and will require a 160-amp fuse (sold separately) placed in-line on the power wire within 18" of the positive battery terminal.
Speaker Outputs: Five speaker outputs are provided on set-screw terminals accommodating wire up to 12-gauge.
RCA Inputs: Six RCA jack inputs are provided on a 5" removeable harness.
Note: The DS18 G4000.5D does not include high-level (speaker-level) inputs. If connecting the amplifier to a factory radio, speaker wire-to-RCA adapters will be required and are sold separately (see Accessories).
Mounting: The DS18 G4000.5D amplifier features four mounting tabs built into the chassis ends that can be secured using the supplied mounting hardware.

Great amp for the price. A all in one solution for me to power my whole car. Pure fire output to all the speakers with clean sound. Subwoofers pound with this 5 channel amp.
