Excellent Sound Quality!

2005 Toyota 4Runner
I decided to o back with the 2ohm speakers in my 4Runner. I replaced the front door speakers with these, and they sound REALLY good!
Pros: They fit the holder that came off of the old speakers and snap into place so it is easy to bolt down.
Cons: Had to modify the harness - the small negative connector would not fit the speaker. Took all of two minutes to fix it. Truck harness fit into speaker holder like the oriinal.

Work, but not great.
Brit from Colorado Spgs, CO on 7/3/2025
2005 Toyota 4Runner
I was directed to these by the Crutchfield tech for my 2005 4Runner with the JBL system. Install was more involved than it needed to be because these speakers require the low pass filter to be removed and the speaker bracket altered. They work but do not sound as good as I would have hoped. I think it is mainly because the stock JBL system directs only the lows to the bottom door speaker but now with the low pass filter removed the speakers receive the full range of audio and it sounds a bit muddled and the highs are much lowered. I have played around with the EQ a fair amount and it's getting better but all in all I don't think Crutchfield should recommend these for this vehicle. When asking for help on how to make the speaker bracket work it seemed like this is the first time the techs have run into this issue which doesn't seem possible. There is a PowerBass set out there that seems to be a better fit that I wish I had gone with.
Pros: They do work
Cons: Not a good speaker to replace the JBL lower door speakers on a 2005 4Runner Limited.

Just Enough Bass
Anthony from Woodland, WA on 5/25/2025
2010 Toyota Tacoma
The guy who said it wasn't good for tacomas got me to buy these. "Too much bass"... if anything, I'd take more. They sound great! I've got them in my 2010 toyota tacoma with thr factory jbl amp. I did pack the door card with foam and lined the inside of the door with sound deadening material. No vibration, can feel the mids/lows at my ankles. Highly recommend, and a thanks to the other guy who returned them. Got $15 off per speaker for what I assume is his set.

not good for taco

2023 Toyota Tacoma
These are robust speakers. Big magnets 2 ohms. I bought them for my 23 taco, as a jbl replacement. They fit in, but they were too bass-ie. So not a good fit for my application. I had previously modified the tweeters in the dash...which my have impacted the door speakers performance. ?????. The taco has a weird amp system for the jbl system....who knows. Crutchfield.com took the speakers back with full refund, so I was lucky!!

Highly recommend! 2020 Camaro SS Door

Really impressed with these, was a little hesitant as they are newer to Crutchfield. Went into my 2020 Camaro SS. Important to note that these are mid/mid-bass speakers specifically and in the regard they are phenomenal. Don't expect these to replace a sub, that's not what they are for. but they are 2 ohm so work great with factory head unit. Way less "boomy" than stock, any way better definition and clarity. Build quality is extremely solid. One note, The connectors on the speaker didn't quite fit perfectly with the speaker harness that Crutchfield included, but if you are careful, you can make it work. I'm not sure what the term is, but one of the connectors is a little bit bigger than the other. Overall, would absolutely buy again and absolutely recommend these! Even better if you upgrade dash/other speakers and add a sub.
Pros: Overall quality in sound, build quality.
Cons: Sold as singles, so they aren't cheap as pair.
