Arcam PA720

Easy integration into my system. I put my front "L-C-R" speakers on this and left the surrounds on my Arcam AVR10. Sounds great ! FYI: I am powering up some Bowers & Wilkins 683 S2's and a Bowers & Wilkins 600 Series HTM61 S2.
Pros: Aesthetically- matches my existing AVR-10 Performance- More than enough to power my speakers. Very accurate details and smooth sounding.
Cons: Not bridgeable that I can tell.

Incredible sound
William from Scottsdale, AZ on 12/1/2024
Powerful and effective. Adds a major boost to the soundstage. I could hear an extremely slight hum from the unit upon powering up and during operation. I don't think most would notice it. My system utilizes a Panamax power conditioner.
Pros: Major sound upgrade over a standalone AVR
Cons: Not perfectly silent for those who might be near the unit

For the clearest, cleanest sound.. I have it matched with the Arcam AVR11 and Def Tech speakers for a 7.1.4. They include DI and DT inwalls and 2 SVS subs in parallel. I feel like I'm listening to music for the first time. And movies are more dynamic. Sounds have far better separation.

Dramatic improvement over high end HT receiver
Larry from CUMMING, GA on 3/25/2022
7.2.6 Dolby Atmos configuration with Denon AVR-X6700H used as preamplifier. PA720 is used for for 7.x; two PA410 for x.6 channels. Speakers are Monitor Audio Silver 100/C350 (L+R/C) and (!) JBL A120 (all surrounds - great speaker!). Two Monitor Audio Silver W12 subs. Sound performance? I listened to Denon built in amplification and it was superb. I started questioning my decision on whether I would even be able to improve on that... but persisted and ordered Acoustic Zen Action 7.0 interconnects and Satori II speaker cables (L/C/R). While waiting for them, for fun and to start conditioning everything, connected a bunch of cheap Monoprice style <$10 interconnects (all 13 channels). That resulted in the worst sound I've ever heard from a system at similar price point; my old $300 Denon receiver was ten fold better. I stopped listening after 2 min and started feeling anxious... lol but hey, Crutchfield has great return policy. Then I received the AZ interconnects and speaker cables (Kimber in-wall was installed for surrounds). After ~140 hours of full system conditioning I watched The Kacey Musgraves Christmas Show (a lot of great music and artists). It was very obvious I wasn't in a Home Theater anymore but rather on a live music event... The very first song put a large smile on my face; it wasn't just better, it was on a completely different level. Every song from the show evoke emotions like I never experienced before... Highly recommende
Pros: Outstanding sound quality
Cons: Could hear very quiet transformer hum about 1-2 feet from the PA720. Metal cover strongly rattles if tapped on (!). (None of the above seem to create any issues during movie watching so no stars are lost here)

Being my first first experience with separate components, I am pleased with the performance of this power amp. Compared to my previous integrated AV amp, this Arcam power amp sounds cleaner and more powerful. My only minor situation with this amp is it will switch to stand-by if there isn't volume supplied from the preamp.
