Product Research

Design: The SB112VL is a large unloaded, ported enclosure for a single 12" subwoofer. It's constructed of ¾" MDF (medium-density fiberboard) and covered in charcoal colored carpet.

Internal Box Volume: The enclosure has a volume of 3.7 ft³ with a tuning frequency of 43 Hz.

Terminals: The wire terminals are spring-posts (one pair), mounted on the left side of the enclosure. The spring terminals will accept pin connectors and bare wire up to 12-gauge. Inside the enclosure there are 0.205" male quick-slides (will accept 0.205" female quick slides) for both the positive and negative terminals. The wire can also be attached using the nuts holding the quick-slides in place.

Note: Speaker wire is needed to connect the terminals to the subwoofer.

Brackets: Brackets for securing the enclosure in your vehicle are recommended.

Would this be a good box for Audiopipe TXX-BDC4-12D2? And if not, then what would be?
robert  Oct 08, 2023

I would be happy to help, Bobby. The Audiopipe is a massive speaker with a magnet depth of almost 8 inches, and this box can handle the depth, so we have a fit there! According to the specs from the manual that I was able to find for the Audiopipe TXX-BDC4-12D2, for what they refer to as "competition bass performance" in a ported box you need to use an internal airspace of 3.25 cubic feet or greater. This SPL boxes measures out at 3.7 cubic feet (before the speaker is installed) so it appears to be a pretty spot-on match for top performance. You should have solid results here if you are looking for hard-hitting bass!

Would this be good for a EVL-1X12D2 | Single 12" 2,500 Watt EVL Series?

Greetings Sully. According to Skar's specs this sub should be in a 2.0 cubic foot box if the box is ported. This SPL box is 3.7 cubic feet of air space. Its a bit too big. As close as we can get is a 1.5 cubic foot that you would need to stuff with poly fill to get closer to 2.0.

Is this box good for a Rockville destroyer D1 sub?
damien  Nov 28, 2022

It would seem that this enclosure has a significantly larger internal volume than is recommended for that sub. For help with picking the right box for your needs, please reach out to our advisors via online chat or phone at 1-800-324-9695.

Would SPL Boxes SB112VL Single ported 12" subwoofer enclosure be good for a 12 inch Memphis mojo pro?
tanner  Sep 11, 2022
1 answer
The internal volume of this box is 3.7 cubic feet. The Memphis sub calls for a ported box volume of 2.5 cubic feet. It may be too big to work well with this subwoofer. Please give our advisors a call at 1-800-324-9695 for help with selecting the best enclosure for your subwoofer!
