Features

Design: The SB212 is an unloaded, sealed enclosure for two 12" subwoofers. It's constructed of ¾" MDF (medium-density fiberboard) and covered in charcoal colored carpet.

Internal Box Volume: The enclosure has two separate chambers, each with a volume of 1.2 ft³.

Terminals: The wire terminals are spring-posts, two pair; one pair mounted on each side of the enclosure. The spring terminals will accept pin connectors and bare wire up to 12-gauge. Inside the enclosure there are 0.205" male quick-slides (will accept 0.205" female quick slides) for both the positive and negative terminals. The wire can also be attached using the nuts holding the quick-slides in place.

Note: Speaker wire is needed to connect the terminals to the subwoofers.

Brackets: Brackets for securing the enclosure in your vehicle are recommended.

A
Greetings Joseph. Thank you for checking first. It will be a bit tight, but your trunk has 34w x 24d x 15 inches of height.

Q
Is this box compatible for P2 12s p2d4 RF?
raymond  Dec 31, 2024
1 answer
A
The SPL boxes SB212 would work well with a pair of the Rockford Fosgate P2D4-12 subwoofers, Ray. The sealed box would provide tight, accurate, and musical bass with the Rockford Fosgate subs!

Q
Will this fit a 2006 Honda civic coupe?
hectorfg1  Nov 21, 2024
1 answer
A
According to the measurements we have taken of the trunk in your 2006 Civic Coupe Hector, you have 40" in width, 15" in height, and 29" in minimum depth at the top of the box. The SPL Boxes SB212 Dual sealed 12" box is under these measurements and should fit. It is always a good idea to measure your trunk opening and available space and compare to the dimensions I have listed below for the SPL Boxes SB212 to guarantee fitment. SPL Box dimensions: 32.5"W x 13.125"H x 12.75"D

Q
I have a 2019 Subaru WRX will just work with the rear strut brace Tower I put in?
ghislain  Apr 19, 2024
1 answer
A
We do not qualify universal subwoofer boxes like the SPL Boxes SB212 for specific vehicle fitment, Ghislain. Make sure you take accurate measurements of your installation space taking into account your custom rear strut tower brace, comparing to the listed dimensions of the SPL Boxes SB212. I have copied the SB212's dimensions below to help! 32.5"W x 13.125"H x 12.75"D

Q
i have a 2012 nissan altima 2 door and i want deep bass with 2 12 what would be the best box?
bubba  Apr 12, 2024
1 answer
A
Hey Brandon, typically when it comes to box style, I usually recommend a ported box over a sealed if you are after a deeper and harder hitting bass note. The port allows the air to escape at a faster rate which in turn gives you more volume overall. A sealed style enclosure will typically give you a tighter punch so the bass is more accurate but the overall volume will be lower. The most important thing to look at when you are shopping for boxes to match with some subs are you want to check their sealed and ported box to make sure the volume will match the enclosure. The ported to consider will be this one below: https://www.crutchfield.com/I-rET1c402/p_419SB212SV/SPL-Boxes-SB212SV.html?tp=61651

Q
Would this box fit on the smaller area of trunk ?(2017 Q50) the small area closer to back seats
eddy  Nov 20, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Eddy. Thank you for your question. We unfortunately do not measure every square inch of any vehicle to see if certain non-vehicle specific sub boxes can fit. The dimensions of this box are 32.5"W x 13.125"H x 12.75"D. We would have to ask you to take your own measurements please.

Q
I have 2 Audio Legion S2512 D4 subs. I can't seem to find enclosure specs for them but I'd really like a sealed enclosure for them. Will this one work?
christian  Sep 30, 2023
1 answer
A
Unfortunately, we are also struggling to find information regarding these subs. Based on mounting depth and cutout diameter measurements found on a third-party site, it appears that the subs will comfortably fit, but without a box volume rating, it is hard to know if this enclosure is properly sized.

Q
The crutchfield filter shows that this box would fit my 2004 Mustang convertible. Was this box tested to fit?
fozzy  Mar 15, 2023
1 answer
A
We do not usually qualify universal boxes like the SPL SB212 for vehicle fit, Joe. We do have some rough measurements for your 2004 Mustang convertible's trunk area listed below. 35" wide 34" deep 15" height It does appear the SB 212 will fit, but sometimes vehicles with smaller trunk openings can have a hard time getting a large box in. Any items that simply do not fit after due diligence measuring can be returned for a full refund within the first 60-days. Two 12"s in a Mustang will sound great! I hope this helps!

We do not usually qualify universal subwoofer boxes like the SPL SB212 for vehicle fit, Joe. We do have some rough measurements for the trunk location on your 2004 Mustang listed below at 35" wide 34" deep 15" height It does look like the physical dimensions fit. What can cause issues sometimes is getting the box through the trunk opening on some vehicles. This looks like a pretty good call here, and any items that simply do not fit even after due diligence in measuring can be returned for a full refund in the first 60-days. No worries. Dual 12's in a Mustang vert is going to rock!

Q
would this fit a Rockville Destroyer 12D1 12"?
bucketb  Mar 04, 2023
1 answer
A
This enclosure has an acceptable internal volume and speaker depth allows for the Rockville subs. However, the cutout diameter for each opening is 11.25", whereas the Rockville speakers require an 11.65" cutout diameter. It may be necessary to slightly widen the holes on this box.

Q
What is the best sub box to use on a pontoon? Sealed or ported? Right now I have two 10â?? subs in ported boxes and want to add two 12â??s. Not sure if I want to put all of them in ported boxes.
joe  Oct 04, 2022

A
Well there is a lot of personal preference involved in sub box choice Joe, there are advantages to both. I would not advise using something like this SPL Boxes SB212 however, it is not suited for a marine environment. We have a couple options in the 12" size, first link below is the Roswell marine ported box. This is also MDF construction, but has a coating and some additional marine protection to suit water exposure. Since space on deck is always a primary concern, you could even consider getting the best of both worlds so to speak. The second link below is a pre-loaded Wet Sounds Revo 12 PSE. This is a sealed box (making it much more weather proof) but has a 12" passive radiator. This essentially gives the bass of a ported box but with the marine advantages of sealed. These are a great small footprint option, and you could even go with one or two additional to maximize your bass on deck! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_3511815/Roswell-R1-12-Sub-Enclosure.html https://www.crutchfield.com/p_867PSESWB/Wet-Sounds-Revo-12-PSE-Black-w-black-grille.html
