Overview: The Cicada FLX1000.4P is a 4-channel full-range DSP amplifier that's been designed specifically for the motorcycle environment. Its highly efficient Class D amp can provide high output power in a compact size. The amp is bridgeable, so it can also be wired as 3-channel or 2-channel.  Built-in DSP software lets you make detailed audio adjustments for each channel. The DSP settings are accessed via a Bluetooth connection to your smartphone.

RMS Power Output:

• 225W x 4 @ 4-ohms (14.4 volts)
• 200W x 4 @ 4-ohms (12.5 volts)
• 350W x 4 @ 2-ohms (14.4 volts)
• 300W x 4 @ 2-ohms (12.4 volts)
• Bridged: 700W x 2 @ 4-ohms (14.4 volts)
• Bridged: 600W x 2 @ 4-ohms (12.5 volts)

Gain: Two rotary gain controls (Ch.1/2 & 3/4) let you run low-level or high-level audio signals ranging from 200mV up to 12V into each set of RCA inputs. A corresponding Clip LED can help you dial in the correct gain adjustment, avoiding a distorted signal.

Auto Turn-on Switch: A 2-way switch determines the turn-on method for the amplifier; DC Offset can be used with speaker-level input signals, while the REM method must be used if running low-level input signals:

• DC Offset: Senses the DC offset on the high-level input signals to activate the amp.
• REM: Uses a +12V trigger on the Remote terminal to activate the amp when using low-level input signals.

Power/Protect & Clip LEDs: A Power/Protect LED will illuminate Green when the amp is powered on and will change to Red if the amplifier goes into protect mode. A Clip LED will light to let you know if the input signal (Gain) is too high and is starting to distort.

Bluetooth Connection: The Cicada FLX1400.4P includes a Bluetooth wireless adapter that plugs into one end of the amplifier, providing the wireless connection to your Bluetooth smartphone for making audio DSP adjustments. After downloading the Cicada Audio CA AMP app, available for iOS and Android devices, you can pair your smartphone to the amplifier and access all the DSP adjustment parameters. During pairing, the Bluetooth adapter will flash Blue; when paired, it will change to solid Blue. There are no DSP controls on the amplifier chassis.

Notes:

• The FLX1400.4P Bluetooth adapter does not support audio streaming.
• The DSP amplifier has no physical DSP controls on the chassis; a smartphone running the Cicada Audio CA AMP app and using a Bluetooth connection to the amp is required for making audio adjustments.

DSP Setup (via App):��All of the FLX1400.4P audio settings are made using the Cicada Audio CA AMP app, which includes the following:

• Summing: Each of the four input channels can be summed in various configurations to each of the six outputs (4 powered, 2 line-level). Preset options for 2-Channel input and 4-Channel are provided, along with a Custom setting for making your own Input/Output assignments.
• Crossover: The Crossover setting lets you apply a HighPass, LowPass, or combo of both (Bandpass) to each of the six output channels. A graphic frequency display provides a visual aid for making your adjustments; Bypass and Reset options are also available.
  • Filter: On/Off and type; LowPass, HighPass, BandPass
  • Filter Type: Linkwitz-Riley, Butterworth, Bessel
  • Slope: 6, 12, 18, 24, 36, 48 dB/octave
  • Frequency: Two virtual sliders let you independently adjust the HighPass and LowPass cutoff frequency; range 20 Hz to 20 kHz
• Equalizer: Eight bands of parametric EQ are available for each of the six output channels. Channels can be grouped in pairs or all channels, making for easier adjustments. Six Audio Presets are available based on specific Harley-Davidson factory audio setups, including: HD2014-2018, HD14-18 Horns, HD2019-Newer, HD19 Newer-Horns, HD-Flashed, and HD Flashed-Bridged Horns. Each of the eight EQ bands includes the following slider adjustments:
  • Frequency: range; 20 Hz to 20 kHz
  • Boost: range; +12 dB to -12 dB
  • Q: range; 0.05 (wide) to 20.0 (narrow)
• Delay/Gain: Time delay and Gain can be independently adjusted for each of the six audio channels:
  • Time Delay: adjustment range; 0.0 ms to 10.0 ms
  • Gain: adjustment range; 0 dB to Off; 1 dB increments
  • Mute: switch; mutes the selected channel
  • Phase: switch; 0° and 180°
  • Master Volume: slider; lets you adjust the overall output level of all channels; output can be muted as well

USB-C & LED: A USB-C port, with corresponding LED indicator, will be available for future firmware updates.

Power Terminals: The power, ground, and remote connections are provided on set-screw terminals; power and ground terminals will accommodate up to 4-gauge wire (recommended), while the remote turn-on terminal can accept wire up to 12-gauge (18-gauge is usually sufficient). The set screws are tightened/loosened with the included 4mm and 2mm Allen keys.

Fuse: The amplifier does not have an on-board fuse. A 120-amp fuse (sold separately) should be placed on the power wire within 18" of the battery.

Optional Harley-Davidson Amp Wiring Kit: The optional Cicada Audio HDFLXPRO4K 4-gauge amplifier wiring kit (sold separately) includes pre-configured wire harnesses designed for direct plug-in installation on select 2014-up Harley-Davidson Road Glide or Street Glide motorcycles.

Speaker Outputs: The 4-channel speaker outputs are provided on set-screw terminals that can accept speaker wire up to 12-gauge.

RCA Inputs: The four input channels are provided on two 9" harness terminated in RCA jacks. A speaker-to-RCA adapter (sold separately) is required for running high-level signals, or the RCA jacks can be cut off of the input harness and the bare wire spliced.

Line Output: Two additional RCA line-level outputs are provided for running Channel 5/6 audio signals out to an additional amplifier.

Mounting: The amplifier can be surface-mounted vertically or horizontally using the pre-installed mounting brackets on the amp. Two additional bottom-mount brackets let you hang or suspend the amp underneath a deck or console. Strips of 3M hook-and-loop fastener also included as an optional mounting method.

Optional Harley-Davidson Mounts: The Cicada FLX1000.4P amplifier can easily be mounted to one of Cicada's 14HDAR-SG Street Glide or 14HDAR-RG Road Glide amp mounting brackets (sold separately). Both brackets have been designed to bolt directly to your compatible Harley-Davidson motorcycle with no modifications.
