Outstanding Sub
Edward from Huntington Beach Cal on 6/27/2025
Normally I wait a week or at least a few days. Not necessary I just received this sub and it is by far in all my years of Audiophile-hood :) the best 2 channel Sub I've ever owned. It was so easy to get it setup and blend with my system using the high level option. The sound is second to none with 2 channel audio and that's coming from a SVS fanboy ??. It took me maybe 30 minutes to dial it in taking my time and seems to be the perfect blend including all sources. I absolutely love this sub and highly recommend it ! My only complaint and there might be a logical explanation but I tried contacting REL to just ask a simple question about the ground options as my sub was due to arrive the following day . I left a message and tried several times throughout the day and always went to voicemail never got a call back all I heard was crickets ??. A little disappointed and hoping I don't ever need service in the years to come. But just thought I'd put light on that since customer service Is very important regardless the quality of the product. I should of just called CRUTCHFIELD since their customer service is first class and why I'm a lifer with them :) But yeah this Sub cry's quality even the owners manual .Such a beautiful and sounding sub it really is amazing with tight fast bass so musical it definitely exceeded my expectations. Thank you CRUTCHFIELD and I think Rel ;) 4 stars only because never was able to talk to Rel's customer service for a simple question.
Pros: Outstanding sub in all areas including blending it with your setup
Cons: REL Customer Service ?

Buy In Pairs
Jesse from ORANGE, CA on 5/20/2025
I started with one and was happy with it for about a year, but I was having to turn the single one up too high, so I added a second one, and what a massive difference in the sound stage it made. The T/5x subs are impressive sounding and integrate easily with my speakers. They are fast and with a very controlled, tight sound. Also, they are small and beautiful objects and don't generate an overwhelming amount of heat. This is a cheap system upgrade that anyone can make.
Pros: Sound.

Great Match for Magnepan LRS+
Roger from Overland Park, KS on 5/6/2025
I picked up a scratch and dent REL T/5x to pair with my Magnepan LRS+, and it's been a fantastic addition. Setup was quick, build quality exceeded expectations, and even at a discount, it looked nearly flawless. Bass integration with the Maggies was smoother than expected - fast, musical, and tight. I actually had to dial it down a bit, which says a lot. The T/5x fills in the low end without muddying the mids or stepping on the LRS+ clarity. I'll likely add a second sub later, but for now, even one T/5x has taken my stereo setup to the next level. Highly recommended for anyone trying to blend a sub with panel speakers.

If you are into music, The REL T/5x is the way to go
Crutchfield customer from ANAHEIM, CA on 4/16/2025
I've tried other subwoofers with my bookshelves before but they just did not work out. The REL T/5x has added not only a musical low end, it has added space and debth and is impacting the lower midrange in such a good way. Mine is positioned about five inches away from the right corner behind the speaker just as REL recomends. You will need to play with how far away from the wall a bit as it does matter. My living room is "L" shaped and I've had some issues with center imaging, (negative sound pressurizing I've learned) and by positioning the left speaker a few inches closer has helped. With the addition of the new REL there are absolutley no imaging issues. I definitley used the high leval connection and it took only about 20 minutes to connect and tune. Ended up with the crossover at 60 hz and the gain at 10 oclock, phase at 0. I do not hear the sub. Everthing is coming thru the B&W 606 S3's and from time to time, I get up to feel the REL to make sure it's doing its job, and it is. My equipment: New Marantz PM8006 amp, New Marantz CD6007, Bluesound Node. This system now sounds great with the REL. My friend who helped me tune the REL has spent over twice as much for his system and he's just shaking his head. Awesome customer service as always Crutchfield!
Pros: Very musical, easy to tune, nice tight bass and the REL disappears. Top quality construction and value for the dollar the best in my opinion.
Cons: The high level cable is 33 ft long. Would be nice if they offered in 10 ft sections but this is nit picky.

Don't let the size fool you
Jordan from Austin, TX on 4/10/2025
Don't let the size fool you. My pair of T/5x's integrated perfectly with my Kef q3s with the gain at about 4/10. These dual subs are replacing a much larger 12" sub with more "wattage" and the difference in sound quality is night and day. I feel like they'd have no problem keeping up with larger and louder speakers as well. Running them in stereo is also a game changer and id highly recommend. I'd give 6 stars if I could!
Pros: Sound quality, easy integration, build quality.
Cons: None.

They improved sound to an already nice sounding system, extended the low end a little more and did it with tight, detailed bass. Set is also very easy.

Good small subwoofer
Pavel Brady from Clinton Twp, MI on 3/30/2025
I needed a small subwoofer to supplement the 4in. woofers for the bookshelf speakers on my desk. Both the size and price are great, and the sound blends wonderfully with the rest of my set-up. I am very happy with the purchase, and would highly recommend to anyone else in a similar situation.

Rel T/5x
Anthony from Lindstrom, MN on 3/17/2025
So far I am loving this Rel T5x. I have it in the front right corner of the room, to the right and behind the right Kef LS50 Meta speaker, and it blends perfectly with the LS50's. Besides adding wonderful tight bass, the soundstage has increased dramatically side-to-side but especially with the depth front-to-back. Before purchasing I was trying to decide between the Kef KC62 or maybe even trying a stereo pair of Rel T5x's, but decided to try one T5x to start with. A single T5x is blending so well with the LS50's the bass appears to be coming from both speakers and not the corner of the room. Oh, for those wondering, I have T5x connected via the High Level Input to my McIntosh MC462 using the supplied cable. Loving the music more than ever and giving it a 5 star recommendation!

Elevating speakers
The stereo T/5x are transformative with the Mofi 10's. I'm shocked at how lower volume listening is improved as well as sound stage. It takes pressure off the tens that makes them more accurate in my opinion. The resonance of piano and cello is much more real. I've tried different positioning but like the corners of the room. Great value for what they do. Had I not followed speaker purchase I would likely paired wMofi 8's, which would pretty much paid for them. I think one can work but like the REL connection and stereo smaller sub.
Pros: Small quick powerful
Cons: Like many commenters, satin option and digital crossover readout would be nice.

Rel T/5X - Great Smaller Sub
Steven from Royersford, PA on 3/11/2025
Great sub as expected and my second REL. Delivers the low end needed while remaining integrated with my main speakers. Always amazed at how their subs disappear while adding weight to the overall sound. Highly recommended.
Pros: Small footprint Deep base Great for music
Cons: Nothing to mention

great for music
Kevin from East Islip, NY on 2/13/2025
I bought mine about a year ago from another store because Crutchfield didn't carry them at that time. Among the audiophile community REL's are known as a one of the most musical subwoofers. If you don't want a boomy sub they are a great option. They are also known to blend well with the main speakers. I have mine hooked up to an old Rotel amplifier. If your amp or receiver has binding posts you can hook it up with the supplied high level wire and use banana plugs for your speakers. REL states this results in a better blend with your main speakers as they are both seeing the same signal from your amp.(you can use a sub or preamp out as well). And no it will not rob power from your main speakers. The wire is like 30 feet BTW. So my room is about 15x18 and this is probably about as big a room as you would probably want to use this size sub. It produces a nice bottom end without being boomy and it will not call attention to itself when you get it dialed in. I have excellent main speakers and I don't think this sub actually goes any lower but it gives the proper weight to the bass. I have only two placement options and there was a big difference from one to the other so could be this sub has more to offer then I am actually realizing, but I am very satisfied with the performance. Its built well too. Good instructions included. Ultimately if music is your priority REL is a great way to go. Sorry but can't comment as a home theater option as I don't use it for th
Pros: Musical, great tone and non boomy
Cons: Probably not the right choice for those who want loud earth shaking bass in large rooms
