Rotel RA-1572 MKII
Brian from Colorado Spgs, CO on 6/17/2025
Great sound, build quality, plenty of power, and a clean, attractive interface. Some expected latency in the software-relay driven controls. I'm subtracting a star because there's no Line Out though, which is useful when digitizing analog sources, for example. Sure, you can connect to Pre Out, but a usable signal there requires high Volume, which prevents comfortable monitoring. You have to silence all the speakers and hope for the best. Huge oversight, in my opinion.
Pros: Sound & power, build & interface
Cons: No Line Out

Nice Integrated Amp
Bradley from Nicholasville, KY on 4/22/2025
Purchased this integrated amp on sale, pairing it with my Rotel CD14 MKII. Speakers are Polk Reserve R600s. I'm very impressed with the improvement in sound quality, vocal clarity, and defined sound stage. Articulate highs, solid and tight base, strings and keyboard really come alive. Very pleased with this combination. Crutchfield website is easy to navigate, ordering process simple, quick confirmation, prompt shipping and packaged well.
Pros: Top quality build Runs cool, no worries about overheating Simple setup Significant improvement over my previous setup
Cons: none

Impressed
Steven from WASHINGTON, DC on 4/7/2025
I was not sure how much difference a new amplifier would make to sound quality. I am impressed at the difference from my older Yamaha receiver. The sound has noticeable more live like presence, depth, and confidence. I am so glad that i bought it. It also sounds much better than the NAD C3050 that I tried out - no comparison - but it is much more expensive. It is also less deep by several inches than comparable amps that allowed me to place it within my built-in wall cabinets . Some units were much too deep. I have one compliant that is not uncommon to much of the audio equipment that I have tested. The remote feels very dated and is hard to use without good lighting.
Pros: Rich, confident, and live like sound Less deep by several inches than other comparable amps
Cons: The remote

One word does it.....well maybe two.
Rudolph from East Wakefield, NH on 3/22/2025
I can wrap up this review with one word.....Awesome!! Checks all the boxes and we auditioned a good handful of integrated amps but Rotel was our unanimous choice. More than we wanted to spend but....... You can't beat the old school big heavy transformer for beautiful tight powerful music no matter what your preference. If you don't believe me check out the Marantz 50. Another wonderful amp but had no digital inputs. The second word is definitely Crutchfield. Thanks for putting up with us!!
Pros: Just an awesome piece from a to z.
Cons: Price. But this is a long time investment.

The Amp is ok . I'm sure some people say otherwise the more I use it the more I dislike it . To much crap in it . So it's going back . Try to find something better with less digital inputs and better performance. Also speaker hookups are a pain in the neck to hook up . Really disappointing unit .

Cons: Speaker hook ups no tape in or out .

Loving this Rotel
Mark from Rockford, MI on 4/12/2024
Love this integrated amp. Tons of features at reasonable price. Internal phono amp and headphone amp sound very good, no need for an additional external amp. Very clean and accurate sound with descent sound stage. More than enough power to drive my somewhat inefficient speakers. This Rotel made my Sonus Faber speakers come alive. The internal DAC and Bluetooth are also very high quality and reproduce music accurately.
Pros: Power, tons of connections, quiet, very nice sound at a very competitive price point.
Cons: Really there is nothing to complain about.

Perfection for me
RAY from SACHSE, TX on 4/5/2024
This Integrated amp is perfect for me. I have a 12x13 room that is very dead with carpeted walls, and it just sounds incredible! All the control I need, and it can knock you into tomorrow if desired. Great sounding DAC. I am running it with a Martin Logan 1100X sub and SVS Ultra Evolution bookshelf speakers. Streaming HD and Ultra HD music from my computer, I can sit for hours just blown away by the sound. Great job Rotel! Sage was a great help as usual. The detail I am hearing from this setup is truly amazing. Thanks again Crutchfield for another painless purchase!
Pros: Quality build and performance
Cons: A backlit remote would make a huge difference

Make the Model 5's sing!
Chris from FARMINGTON, NM on 2/19/2024
I bought the Rotel RA-1572 MKII to pair with my KLH Model5 speakers. I auditioned the Yamaha A-S801, the Denon PMA-1600NE, and the Cambridge CXA81. To me, the Rotel sounded SO much better. I listen to a lot of vinyl and the phono stage sounds great on the Rotel. The Yamaha and Denon sounded good to me, but not as good as the Rotel. I didn't like the CXA81 with the Model 5's. To each their own...

I've had it for a couple of months, and I like it so far. Paired with KEF R3s (non-meta) bookshelf speakers, it powers them without trouble. I'm taking one star away since I expect a 2k+ amplifier to feature also HDMI eARC, Wi-Fi, Spotify Connect and in general better connectivity.
Pros: Great power and sound quality
Cons: Lack of HDMI eARC, lack of Wi-Fi, lack of Spotify connect

Jazz fans will appreciate this one
Brian from Tampa, FL on 1/14/2024
It's a very impressive integrated amp with easy to use features. The crystal clear and clean sound stage is what is so satisfying, and I love the bass being so responsive without that muddy feel - it was solid. All jazz fans will appreciate this. I turned the volume all the way up to "max" and there was absolutely no hiss to be heard. It was completely quite until the music started. This is a mighty fine amp through and through.
Pros: great sound stage with easy to use features
Cons: it's weighty-heavy, but that's actually a good thing

Rotel RA-1572 MKII
Francis from Glen Allen, VA on 12/26/2023
This is a great product, though not for me at this time. It's more expensive than I need. It's nice to have analog input options, but the analog preamplifier costs a disproportionate amount. I went with a digital-only solution instead for almost half the price. The sound seemed a little underpowered for my Wharfedale EVO 4.4 speakers but that might've been my perception. It also didn't help that the LCD refresh rate seemed low and I noticed it flicker constantly; possibly a unit defect.
Pros: Lots of analog and digital inputs. Has preamp and subwoofer outputs. "Premium" Texas Instruments DAC. Premium look and feel. Higher powered than other integrated amps at this price point.
Cons: LCD refresh rate seemed low and I noticed it flicker constantly; possibly a unit defect.

Rotel RA-1572 MKII
James from MCDONOUGH, GA on 12/16/2023
I am new to the Rotel product line, though I was familiar with their reputation for quality components. So I read a lot of reviews on the RA-1572 MKII, all very positive, and decided to take the plunge. Of course, the folks at Crutchfield were so incredibly nice and helpful. Their own video review of this amp was also very informative as well. I ordered both the RA-1572 MKII amp and the matching RCD-1572 MKII cd player. I can't explain with any technical knowledge just how efficient these 2 pieces of equipment are, but suffice to say they are certainly very well built. A beautiful, and clean design, with easy to understand controls, and a wonderful power band in the amp. And the sound coming from the cd player, (which is likewise a simple and clean design), is impressively strong, clear, and a musical delight to the ears. These ears anyway.

Christopher from Las Vegas, NV on 5/22/2023
This is my first experience with Rotel and so far it's been extraordinary. The build quality is top notch and the sound quality is definitely a significant step up from my previous integrated amp. The sound is more detailed and provides a more extruded presentation of the source than I've heard before. Everything I've listened to (mostly vinyl as well as digital) has had more clarity and articulation and the Rotel has demonstrated better control over my speakers than just about anything else I've listened to. If I have any criticism of the Rotel, I just wish it had a one or more analog tape in/out connections, otherwise everything else is solid.
Pros: Detailed and controlled sound Plenty of power Solid build quality Solid DAC
Cons: Price was a bit high No analog tape in/outs

This is the one!
Nitin from Cupertino, CA on 4/16/2023
I have arrived! I'd first start by addressing couple of negative reviews on this fantastic tank of an amp. One of the review claims that it is less powerful than Arcam SA20 which is a 90W amp just judging it by the volume level. Wrong! This volume on this amp is exponential - meaning it goes up slower first then at the top it goes up really fast. This is a super nice feature which allows for an excellent volume control. I tried Arcam SA20 as well and it is great but not a match when it comes to power this amp has. Second negative review claims there is supposed to be an LED ring around volume knob - again, wrong. The only amp I ever tried that comes close to performance in this price range is - Yamaha A-S1200. I would offer a slight edge to A-S1200 in the midrange department but the difference is miniscule (A-S1200 is about $1k costlier though). I have paired this with KEF R3 speakers which are extreamly power hungry and true to the source. This pairing is just a match made in heaven. Kef R3s are just so capable that choosing an amp can be a tough journey. Rotel is just another level. It literally blew Cambridge A CXA81, Arcam SA20, Audiolab 6000a, Marantz PM8006, Yamaha AS801 and 501 out of water per my auditions. The only amp I felt did slightly better was Yamaha AS-1200 which was a bit too large for my space. It went neck to neck with Musical Fidelity m5si (no eq). Don't think twice, this is the one if your speakers need less than 200W of power. Crutchfield is A+.
Pros: Clarity, sweet bass, powerful, compact yet built like a tank. Feature loaded without being unreliable. Very easy to use menu options. Tone controls. Slightly exciting tone. Comes packed with all needed accessories. Perfect size (especially depth) and fits on most TV racks. Hefty and comes with 5 yr warranty.
Cons: Dated remote style. Midrange not as sweet as some other amps like Yamaha A-S1200. Could look better without those rounded silver edges.

Just bought a new one . Had ARCAM SA20 and Bowers & Wilkins 603 S2 Anniversary Edition Floorstanding Speaker. Saw the reviews , wanted more power as it says 120 watts / channel and balanced input . Did the whole setup . The sound of this rotel is nowhere near arcan -sa 20 ( it's 90 watts / channel ) . One has to crank the volume up to 65 to reach 30 equivalent on arcan . Extremely disappointed , had to return it , same day

In Love with my Rotel
Harrison from Middletown, DE on 2/12/2023
I couldn't be more thrilled to own this Rotel 1572. It is a game changer for me. It drives a pair of B&W 702 s2 to the top of their amazing abilities. The Rotel is heavy. I greeted the UPS delivery guy, 2 days after ordering, and as he handed it to me he said .,"it's heavy, 40 pounds". I smiled with excitement! I got the black. The unit is beautiful, heavy, sturdy, it exudes confidence. Easy set up. No downloading, no programming, just plug your components in, plug the Rotel in and play. Took minutes. Bluetooth .. Instantly. When you turn it on you sit back and can feel the power this unit has. Richness, highs, lows, I haven't turned my sub woofer on and don't know that I ever will. Blue tooth, cd and vinyl all sound fantastic. Truly amazing. Shout out to Artie who does a fantastic job. We discussed several options and he provided great knowledge, experience, advice and made this a no brainer (despite the price!). If you are reading this and haven't bought from Crutchfield, they are the most knowledgeable, service oriented, helpful, professional, easy to work with company you can imagine. Their sales team and technicians are the best in the business I have been amazed by them every time. I wouldn't buy anywhere else. Rotel and Crutchfield are The Highest of recommendations.
Pros: Will easily be my forever amplifier.
Cons: Display screen is a bit small and tough to see from a distance.

Rotel is top of the line
Bradley from SPOKANE, WA on 1/1/2023
Let me first thank Tom at Crutchfield who guided me to this incredible amp! At first I was considering a Denon PMA-1700ME, which no doubt would have sounded good. However, the Denon did not have the type of connections I was looking for in my price point. Tom said I would be amazed with the Rotel. He was right! First impressions: Wow~! Double Wow~!!. I was stunned at how quiet this amp is. I cranked up the volume control to 75 (95 is the max), and I fuzz was negligible. You know when you turn up the volume really high and you hear fuzz? Virtually non-existent from the Rotel to my KHL Model 5's. I started off by playing Dark Side of the Moon, my all time favorite rock album. Do you want to hear Time sound crystalline like in a concert hall? Here you go. So loud and clear. Loud. Clear! Also played Big Love, Fleetwood Mac, really it's Lindsay Buckingham. Listen to the guitar, and the umphs by the girls. They are right in front of you. Crystal clear. I also love the bass and treble control from the remote, a very nice touch. I decided to crank it to 75/95 on the Rotel while streaming Samantha Fish's I Put a Spell on You, live version from Tidal. I've got my Blusound Node connected via a Helios Coax audio cable. My KLH's held up very strong, no distortion, only the house rumbling and my wife letting me know that we have neighbors. I highly recommend the Rotel MKii 120 but have great speakers that can handle 120w. Thanks Tom at Crutchfield!
Pros: Powerful, whisper quiet, bass and treble controls from the remote, HQ DAC for streaming
Cons: Not really quibbling but would like a midrange control to complement the bass/treble. Would prefer 1/4 headphone jack since this is an audiophile unit.

Perfection
James from Crestwood, KY on 11/22/2022
This amp is driving 2 Klipsch Heresy IVs. Input is the Rotel Tribute CD player. The sound is crystal clear. My listening now is mostly classical. I am hearing the music as never before. The inner parts and counter melodies come out as well balanced and equal to the whole. The crescendos move smoothly to brilliant sounds that are quite tasteful and never overpowered or distorted. The entire experience is quite similar to a live performance. One can hear all the subtle intentions of the conductor and composer and be just totally absorbed in the experience. This is really quite remarkable.

A matchless must-have Amp
Kwabena from Waldorf, MD on 10/12/2022
I have always been hesitant to review products due to a long-held perception that, preferences and tastes should mostly be personal affairs. A believer in the one man's treasure being another man's trash idiom. But I just could not help myself and had to renege and testify to this life-changing product. For context, I currently own 4 integrated amps. A Denon PMA-600NE, Cambridge Audio CXA81, LEAK Stereo 130 (Walnut), and the mighty Rotel 1572 MKII (all purchased from Crutchfield). The Denon is capable and versatile. The LEAK is classy, beautiful, and holds its own. At the top, and frequently used was the nimble yet unassuming CambridgeCXA81, until the sturdy and mighty Rotel 1572 MKII came along 7 days ago. I have had the chance to pair it with a Wharfedale EVO4.4 and a Bowers & Wilkins 603 S2 Anniversary Edition (also from Crutchfield), and an ageless Klipsch Ref 625FA. On all occasions, regardless of the speakers, the effect and output are the same- transformational and Psychedelic. So, alas, my quest for an audiophile-grade amp is over. I have reached that enchanting, yet elusive and mystical sweet spot; thanks to this Rotel 1572 MKII. In my humble view, it is flawless. It churns out music, irrespective of the genre, perfectly as intended by the music makers in an effortless and indomitable fashion. I could give away the rest of my amps including the Cambridge and not miss them. But I doubt I can do without this Rotel 1572 MKII. Hats off to the engineers of Rotel.

That is how I can describe the sound. I tried several Integrated Amps, power amps with preamps paired with Kef r3 speakers. I hooked up the Amp using only the Aptx connected to a cellphone just to test it out. I played the same song that I used to test all other setups, and I literally had to sit down and comprehend what I was hearing. The Rotel RA1572MKII is an outstanding integrated amplifier.
Crutchfield customer from Lacey, WA on 1/2/2022
I did a review of several amplifiers prior to contacting the advisors at Crutchfield (Garrett). He was most helpful when I presented my two amp choices I was considering. Bought it. I have several other stereos running in my home. Initially, I was skeptical that the Rotel 'should sound better than it was when I initially connected. As with most stereo components they seem to have 'preference' to certain support components, speakers, and room acoustics. This was the case with the RA1572MK2. I knew the Rotel has plenty of power at 120wpc to drive almost any speaker. Although I already have a quality tube amp running my HDTV/Blu-ray system in the living room. I built a separate system on the other side of the living room using Martin Logan electrostatic speakers. IMHO I found electrostatics don't work as 'near field' listening for me personally. The biggest room I have in the house is the vaulted ceiling living room. I hooked everything up and 'Bang!' the Rotel delivered. The Rotel/electrostatics combo worked. I use the Rotel for both CD/SACD listening as well as BT streaming from my iPad using a quality streaming service. The Rotel is a new, but premium member, of my audiophile listening enjoyment.
Pros: The integrated Bluetooth streaming works well, but BluOS (Wi-Fi) would make it an even better amplifier. Lot's of digital (DAC) connectors in the rear make this a versatile integrated amplifier that will marry into most home stereos seamlessly. It's the one of the top reasons I chose the Rotel brand on this purchase.
Cons: The remote lettering is small and doesn't read well in low-light. I would like to see a back-lit remote control. It would be so much easier to work with.

Excellence!
Tony from Guam USA on 12/31/2021
This is a multi- part review. Yes the Rotel RA 1572 is AWESOME has all the power you will need. Bluetooth is clear and dynamic. I am running XLR cable (best connection) via DacMagic 200. Speakers are the Linton Heritage and subwoofer is Klipsch SPL-100. (got it all from Crutchfield) This system sounded really good to start. Then I tried an experiment. I removed all the stock power cables from the Rotel, and Klipsch sub. I got the AudioQuest NRG Y3 power cables, AudioQuest Mackenzie XLR, and AudioQuest USB cable for the DacMagic. I also have the Panamax M5300 line conditioner. I changed my speaker cable to ChromaLeaf Canare 4s11 with locking banana plugs. After multiple direct A to B comparisons tests, the difference is unbelievable. So as the cables advertise ...I didn't know the stock cables were "attenuating NOISE" until it was gone!!!!! Try it and you will see. No matter what level system you get ..STOP the noise.now my system sounds, and feels so AMAZING. It is truly and emotional expertise every time I hear it. Bass is tighter, high freqs are smoother, mid freqs sound more realistic. Background is totally DEAD SILENT! The Rotel RA1572 is excellent..but will not meet its full potential till you get POWER cable upgrades! With Crutchfield's great return policy its worth a try! Thanks to Dylan for this recommendation, you ROCK!!!!
Pros: Solid build quality, clear bluetooth sound, plenty of POWER, great Aesthetics, XLR inputs for superior sound, easy to use menu with nice display
Cons: Need to upgrade power (and other) cables in order for Rotel AMP to reach FULL performance POTENTIAL!

Great Purchase!

From the impressive build quality to the detailed, clean sound, I have enjoyed this amp tremendously. Whether driving my Klipsch RF 7iiis or Polk RTi A7 floor standing speakers or my Klipsch RP-600M or KEF Q350 bookshelf speakers, the music was dynamic, detailed and a nice wide soundstage. Because of the dual heatsinks, the amp never gets more than slightly warm even after hours and hours of use. The design of the volume knob allowed for very articulate adjustments. This allows for more usable volume control. If there was anything at all that I would change about the unit, it would be that it has a 3.5mm headphone jack instead of a gold plated 1/4" jack which I prefer. Still, my headphones, sounded wonderful.

Great for demanding speakers
Crutchfield customer from YPSILANTI, MI on 10/1/2021
The descriptions and manual are a bit unclear on the MQA compatibility. To be clear, this decodes MQA, and does it well. The volume knob is exponential, 0 to 95. It offers a great spectrum of control. For my system it seems that about 70-75 is the most I could go before it really gets too loud. However the sound is dynamic, clear and soundstage stays centered. Ultimately, I have this paired up with two NHT model 2.3 floor standing speakers, 4 ohm, 30-200w. I have peace of mind that they are driven safely at my listening levels with plenty of power reserve.
Pros: MQA decoder for Tidal, clean power, strong amp, quiet operating
Cons: I would be cool if it had XLR outs too but I can leave without them.

With expert help from Crutchfield advisor, Chance, this amp surfaced as the perfect solution for my price range. Since plugging it in and listening to many vinyl records of varying quality, as well as streamed digital music, I feel the amp has solidly met my expectations. The sound field is deep, detailed and engaging. I highly recommend this amp.

I'm giving this 5 stars based on performance, design and user interface. I did receive one that had some issues, but Crutchfield was great in their handling the replacement. Would highly recommend this beautiful Amp as well as Crutchfield. In my future purchases, if Crutchfield carries the product I'm looking for I'll not need to look any further.
Pros: Plenty of power and such a clean and detailed sound. Truly one of the best SS Amps I've had the pleasure of listening to. Makes my Bluetooth music sound better than ever.
Cons: Non so far

My first Rotel amp. Upgraded from a Yamaha amp I have owned for years. I have it connected to some new Martin Logan MO60XTI speakers. I mostly stream music and with quality recordings, the sound is excellent. I think once the ML's are broken in, the overall sound quality will improve even more. Plenty of power and lots of features. My impression is you get a lot for your money with Rotel. No regrets with this purchase so far.

Clean, Detailed and Musical
Christopher from Powder Springs, GA on 8/14/2021
This is a great integrated amp. The power is good and the sound is strong but neutral to my ears. I am mostly using the phono input attaching an Audio Technica LP120x with a AT-VMN95SH Shibata cartridge. This cart sounds detailed boarding on analytical. The Rotel's Phono stage has a very pleasing and natural sound. After about two weeks of running the amp in tone bypass mode to let everything break in and to get used to the character of the amp, I started experimenting with the tone controls. The bass and treble tone controls are very usable and musical. I landed on +3 Bass, and +1 Treble and the sound is amazing thru the Elac UBR 6.2 speakers. This setup now has a slight lean toward warm with just enough sparkle at the top. I have also been using the front USB input from my iPad Air Mini running youtube music and local ALAC files from Apple Music. Sounds fantastic and and extremely convenient. I have also tested out bluetooth and it works reliably and sounds good from my Android phone using aptx. The only real "con"... A bit pricey for not having integrated streaming services, wifi or network capabilities. Some, like myself, might prefer great sound and simplicity over a ton of features. But still, $2k+ and you have to buy a streamer or attach you ipad like I did to leverage streaming services or get to your DLNA content. Nit-picky but it is important to know what you are buying and consider what features are important to you ke
Pros: Sounds fantastic.
Cons: Relatively high price and no network capabilities besides online firmware updates. Still worth it.
