Clean power amp!
Michael from Centerville, UT on 5/26/2025
I don't have platinum ears, but I know excellent sound. I updated to the Rotel because it has 200 watts of power with very little distortion. (My previous amp was 100 watts with higher distortion at moderately high listening levels). I paired my Rotel with my Wharfdale Jade 5 speakers and found no clipping even at high volume levels. The Rotel's very low distortion insured "clean" power with plenty of ability to bring out details in mid-range frequencies-something I find lacking in a lot of amps. Crutchfield's delivery and support was flawless.

Nice, solid amp!
Michael J from Myrtle Beach, SC on 12/17/2024
So far I haven't really had a chance to put this amp thru it's paces or really break it in or even read thru the manual but I'm impressed with what I see/hear. It's a substantial amp, weighing more than any I've previously owned. The front panel is clear and easy to manage. I haven't used the remote yet but it seems to make sense as well. While I could do with a couple more analog outputs for my cassette and R2R decks, the unit has enough inputs to handle all my CD units and a few other analog items. The sound is accurate and clean and I'm sure once I unleash the full potential of the unit (by reading the manual), it's going to satisfy my needs and then some. When I decided to treat myself to a quality amp after years of getting by with a Denon amp, I'm glad I picked this Rotel unit. The only downside is that it was made in Asia but unfortunately, I couldn't find a unit with everything I needed made elsewhere.
Pros: Solid construction Quality components
Cons: Not enough analog outputs Made in Asia

Nice Pairing with Magnepan LRS+
Brent from Columbia, SC on 12/10/2024
I've had this for just a few days so it's a little soon for a review. My first impressions of the Rotel RA-1592 so far is it fits the bill replacing an Outlaw RR2160 Mkii. Upper mids and highs are detailed and a lot of muscle in the bass if needed so I don't have to use a subwoofer. I only use it for playing music, no movies. Great wide airy sound-stage for straight jazz and classical. It seems effortless in powering the inefficient Magnepan LRS+ and just barely runs warm. I thought the Cambridge Azure 851N had a decent DAC but the RA-1592 internal DAC sounds noticeably better whether using the optical or coax connections. Same experience with the Rotel CD11 Tribute, the RA 1592 internal DAC sounds better. This amp is pretty heavy and my goodness, what a cheesy remote but it is functional. Overall I think this is a nice looking amp but two small VU meters would set it off nicely. The amp was currently on sale for $700 off which still isn't cheap but I grabbed it anyway. It came with Firmware v2.0 so I updated it to the latest v2.06 which added a couple of interface options. If you use Ethernet to update the firmware make sure that you turn the unit completely off first, connect the cable, then power it back on otherwise it may not recognize the server. So far no regrets.
Pros: Powerful, sounds clear across the audio spectrum.
Cons: No WiFi option, No bass management, No HDMI, No remote app, dated looking remote, could use a facelift like a digital VU meter.Would be nice to include the "Rotel Link" cable to connect other Rotel units like the CD11.

Fantastic sound but mediocre interface.
John from KIHEI, HI on 5/23/2024
I have this playing through Polk Reserve R700 tower speakers sourcing from an iPad plugged into the front USB port and a Korg Professional Arranger keyboard going to the rear AUX inputs. The Korg produces very high-quality instrument sounds from solo piano to full jazz groups and orchestras. The sound from the Rotel/R700 combo is fantastic at all frequencies with tight base that reaches low enough to not require a sub, smooth mids, and clean treble. The nuances of various instruments are far above the other amp/speaker combos I have used with the Korg keyboard. There are a few things that could be improved. 1. There is no USB A jack on the back so the iPad cord is always hanging from the front. 2. It does not have wireless capability. 3. When attempting to update the firmware through an ethernet cable, I can connect to the internet but get a message that the update server is not available. My biggest grip is the display and menu system. The display is tiny, dim, and uses an old dot matrix that looks 30 years old. It is not easy to read or user-friendly. The menu system from the front panel is annoying because you have to punch through 20 items to get where you want to go, and if you pause too long, it jumps back to the beginning and you have to punch through the whole menu again. The good news is that this unit is built like a tank feeling very solid. Be prepared, it is very heavy. I purchased a "scratch and dent" unit from Crutchfield and it arrived looking brand
Pros: 1. Great sound at all frequencies. 2. Able to easily drive these large tower speakers which have two 8" woofers. 3. Solid build quality. 4. Crutchfield's 'Scratch and dent" model came looking like brand new. I cannot find a single fault. Well done Crutchfield!!!!!
Cons: 1. The display is tiny, dim, and hard to read. 2. Writing on the display is an old dot matrix. 3. Navigating the menu from the front panel is a pain. Better when using the remote. 4. Problems so far with updating the firmware due to server issues.

Rotel RA-1592 MKII
Guest from Mays Landing, NJ on 1/23/2024
Very disappointed. Amp has to be at least 95% volume to listen to loud music, which is what I prefer. For the second time the amp has gone into Tone Bypass mode shutting off the amp rendering it useless. The first time I sent it to the authorized repair company, it was returned in less than two weeks. This time I have contacted Rotel to file a warranty claim, I received a case number and that was the only communication from them. I contacted the company who repaired it last time and all they wanted to know was the type of equipment I was using. Sent an email asking the next step with no response. Very sorry I purchase a Rotel.

Not so great in my setup
James from Nashville, TN on 12/28/2023
This is supposed to be a "powerhouse amp" which it is on paper, however not in my setup. Sourced with a Musical Fidelity MX VYNL on high gain I had to crank it to nearly 80% volume to push KLH Model 3 to my normal listening volume. On fairly efficient headphones I was nearly maxing it out through the headphone jack. My only theory is it needs a high voltage source to work as intended. The sound was great but far too expensive for what it's worth. Arcam A25 was much better at half the wattage and sounded equally as good.
Pros: Good sound
Cons: Needs high power sources

Worth the Money
Randall from Las Vegas, NV on 11/13/2023
It took me a couple years of searching for the right integrated amplifier, one that had the power I wanted at a price I could afford. I had the RA-1592 MKII in and out of my cart a few times while I looked around at other amps but after years of looking I finally realized that there just isn't anything better out there that I can actually afford. The sound was incredible when I connected the amp to my Martin Logan Electrostatic speakers rated at 6-ohms. Those are thirsty speakers and the Rotel satisfied that thirst with plenty of power to spare. It all sounded crisp and clear and I heard things within each track that I've never heard before.
Pros: - Plenty of power - Easy to use and set-up - Great value for the money you pay - Sounds crystal clear
Cons: - Kind of mid heavy (I hate mids..cheapens the sound) - No built in WiFi receiver - Must purchase a WiFi streaming player for my purposes

Good but not Great
Dan from Pittsburgh, PA on 10/26/2023
My speakers are Martin Logan XT F100s. I bought this amp to compare it to my Anthem STR. I'm giving it 4 stars because it sounded good and the build quality is above average, but the remote is trash. This amp would be amazing if you never heard anything above it's performance level. Even after just 2 songs, I could tell the clarity just isn't there when compared to the Anthem. I don't think you could go wrong with this amp but there are more convincing options out there for the money. Honestly, I enjoyed the tonality more on the Audiolab 6000. It had more character and maybe clarity. If the Anthem is a 9, then the Rotel is a 7. Not bad, but not for me.
Pros: Quality,power
Cons: Remote, clarity, crappy screen

James Martin from ONSTED, MI on 9/7/2023
I purchased this integrated amp almost one year ago. I purchased the Marantz model 40 first, which is a fine amplifier, but lacks the the overall clarity of the Rotel. I really appreciate Crutchfield's 60 day trial period. It allowed me to to make the best purchase decision for my musical taste and budget. The Rotel gets so much right. The stereo image produced by this amp is so good, particularly due to the clarity of the musical presentation. Throughout the frequency range this liquidity is evident from bass to high frequencies. Not at all thin or lean, just clear effortless sound. The power on hand is put to good use as well. This amp is engaging at all volumes and with all music (especially piano and acoustic guitar!). The texture and timbre of instruments is consistent and correct. Great amp and fantastic service. Very satisfied.

Rotel RA-1592 MK II Integrated Amplifier - I haven't had it for long, but this amplifier has impressed me with its ability to deliver full range, high quality sound, with plenty of power. It is VERY quiet in operation, has a great DAC, an MM phono stage, RCA, COAX, XLR, USB inputs (read the specs), a head phone input, A&B speaker selection, pre-out and mono sub inputs, RS232, Blue Tooth, a BIG remote... And it ALSO provides the choice of NO Tone Control (a Bypass) or individual, incremental 1 thru 10 Bass and Treble controls, and while substantial in size, it's lighter and less bulky than a McIntosh. Here is a high power, extremely low distortion integrated amplifier with an array of input connections that fits on the 19 inch X 17 inch shelves of my old square-welded Solidsteel 5.5 stand that I bought in 2014, and it won't crush the shelves with its weight! Using this amp's tone control, I can clearly hear cymbals and high hats, and there is more bass coming from my Klipsch Forte III speakers. I was using a Rega Brio circa 2014, and while that is a fine 50 watt amp, it is lean on the highs. My Forte III speakers have come ALIVE with this new Rotel amp. The tone control and additional power are just what they needed. Assuming that nothing goes wrong within the 60 day return period, I expect to keep this Gem of an integrated amplifier. Highly recommended. It's a smart Japanese design. I just wish it was made in Japan, and not China. Crutchfield shipping was super!
Pros: Extremely low distortion, Quiet operation, lots of Input Options, a fine DAC, Adjustable TONE CONTROL or TONE BYPASS is YOUR Choice, A&B speaker connections. BIG Remote. Multiple Sub options. LOTSA POWER. Headphone input, MM phono input. Substantial in size and weight, but not too big or heavy for the better audio stands. Read the Specs! Fine Japanese design.
Cons: Hopefully, there will be none! One might expect the MM phono stage to be somewhat basic. I have a Parasound Halo JC 3 + serving that purpose, so I haven't tried the included phono stage. It was manufactured in China, but the technicians seem to have done a fine job.

Great for hard to drive speakers
Curtis from Rodeo, CA on 2/13/2023
I had a vintage pioneer SX1050. That I had recapped and completely gone through. I guess my expectations were to high. The pioneer would clip when I cranked up the Pink Floyd. The Rotel RA1592Mkii was just what I was looking for. Now I can listen as loud as I can stand it. But what I didn't realize was how much better and cleaner my music could sound. I'm driving a pair of Martin Loagan 60XTi. The pioneer was have a hard time bringing out what these speakers were made to do. I'm very happy with the Rotel:)

Great Performance from Rotel
Gregory from COLUMBUS, MS on 2/3/2023
I was using a Marantz MM7025 to drive Klipsch RF7iii's back feed through older Sony 4600ES. A Klipsch SW311 used for low end. Components hooked up are Marantz CD6007 and Rega P1. The room is about 16' x 26' and 10' ceilings. The system sounded great with good balance, channel separation and frequency response up and down. I just did not think the MM7025 brought our RF7iii's potential. Allot of research lead me to this Rotel unit for performance and price point The Rotel basically juiced up the RF7iii's with low end punch and additional mid clarity. Horns, strings and vocals came forward with more detail. The Rotel volume was not pushed further than prior system for comparison. For now I am keeping the factory setting on the Tone Bypass and not adjusting until additional listening hours are completed. Areas of listening include CD and Vinyl classic rock, jazz and blues. The Bluetooth connection took 3 seconds using iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Do your research and speak with Crutchfield based on your system requirements. This unit will not disappoint. Conrad and Tom were professionals to deal with and provided guidance and reinforcement on this purchase. The warehouse did a great job in request for special packaging for shipping.
Pros: Good phono input Solid build Great packaging Power in reserve Easy set up Great channel separation Excellent soundstage and dispersion Should drive wide array of speakers
Cons: None found yet.

I've had my RA-1592 MKII for about 3 weeks now and I could not be more pleased with it. Wow does this amp sound good! I was quite surprised to hear folks compare this amp to a McIntosh and I can say.... they are not that far off. My quest for a good integrated amp started with a McIntosh MA5300. After 3 days use the unit stopped powering up and I had to return it. The company I bought it from did not have a replacement and so I decided to buy the Rotel from Crutchfield. I know Crutchfield has a great 60 day return policy so I figured why not try out the Rotel? I would agree with most of the others in saying "If the McIntosh is a 10...this unit is a 9". Needless to say I'm keeping my Rotel at half the price and getting a lot more. I have this amp paired with my Polk Reserve R700's and it sounds amazing. The real surprise was the Phono input stage. My album collection has never sounded so good. With 200 watts of crazy nice power this unit will drive any set of speakers! If you are looking to pull the trigger on a nice integrated amp you will be very happy with the Rotel 1592 Mk II. My only one gripe would be the remote. It's a bit dated looking but works great.
Pros: Exceptional sound stage. Power to spare Blue Tooth Amazing Phono input Outputs for Subs
Cons: Remote control looks like something out of the 70's.

An amp with immense power, refined definition and superb soundstage. I thought the phono pre-amp on deck far more capable than some other reviewers. Otherwise, no other amp that I've auditioned can come close to it at this price point.

Spectacular Integrated
Rich from Brea, CA on 10/4/2022
Researching the integrated amplifier market led me to the Rotel RA-1592MKII. Every reviewer on YouTube lauded this unit. They are correct. Why did I select this integrated? I purchased a McIntosh MA8900 integrated amp for $8000. With loving use after 14 months it died. It has been in for repair (main controller board died) for the passed two months...I needed music. With the same speakers (Wharfdale EVO floor standing and same inputs) this Rotel unit sounds the same as the McIntosh and in some cases outperforms the McIntosh--especially with the SVS PB1000 subs. The inputs supplied are just as good as the McIntosh...even better because of the dedicated computer input with the supplied connecting cord. The build quality is outstanding. For a third of the price I have an equal or better amplifier...smooth and effortless with 200 watts per channel. It does not have the famous blue meters...who cares when the sound quality is fantastic. The remote has more features than the McIntosh. I opted for the integrated because it has capability of running two sets of speakers...I entertained the idea of getting the separates from Rotel but discovered that the second set of binding posts on the preamp was for bi-amp only and not for a second set of speakers. The menu is simple and the operation of the unit is flawless. The unit weight is substantial and the warranty is five years...better than the three years given by McIntosh or other manufacturers.
Pros: Plenty of inputs for digital and analogue/wonderful sound
Cons: None so far

Dennis from Greenwood Vlg, CO on 3/8/2022
This is an interim substitute for a McIntosh MA6900. For the money, this integrated amp is absolutely superb. It drives my B&W 804S speakers and two subs very nicely. It has good connectivity via blue tooth, optic, coax and RCA. It has its own DAC, although I am using my Mac DAC. However, the Rotel has a magnificent phono stage. It may not have the watt meters and the "gee whiz" appearance of some amps but it is a very nice and simple design. I like it so well that when my Mac returns from the shop I will keep the Rotel so it can drive the house system. I looked around for a long time before I bought this and I am glad I finally found it. The added bonus was Crutchfield's lightening fast shipping and excellent support team.
Pros: Great connectivity and controls.
Cons: Somewhat pedestrian appearance for some.

Very good amplifier but try it with different speakers
Fernando from Port Washington, NY on 2/24/2022
Its very good amplifier, and has all the connections you need plus a very good DAC, for the best sound you really have to use the right cables,( power cable, speaker and interconnect) and the matching speakers, (they do well with BW speakers, and if you can use the biwire from the BW better ), But if you are buying this for the first time, I would encourage you to try with different speakers and consider the area and resonance of the room where you will install it. This amplifier has other features like the Bass and Treble controls and you can modified them depending on the area and resonance of the room Most of the time using one expensive cable won't make that much difference, but when you listen all of cables together it will The bluetooth sometimes does not work very well , especially if you had been using a USB cable before, it will work if you are using it all the time, but the you switch them, you have to reconfigure it, That means you turn on and off the amplifier until it it recognizes it
Pros: Warm body feeling
Cons: USB sometimes does not connect as you would like

The 1592 has plenty of dynamic power and the clarity is super satisfying. I can't stop listening. The service from Crutchfield is second to none. It was out of stock, due to receive more by Dec20th. I rec'd it probably 2-3 days later. So cool. Calling for tech support is just not from 2021. They are amazingly supportive, researches ?'s , calls back, super friendly. I feel like I have a few new friends that have similar interests. ??. Can't wait to add a roon setup to this Amp.

Rotel RA-1592MKll is the new gold standard in this price range
Crutchfield customer from Huntington, NY on 9/9/2021
I never realized the difference in sound a really good amp can make. I do now. The Rotel RA-1592MKll is a fantastic amp. I'm coming from another highly rated amp and the Rotel is far superior. Well defined and powerful bass. A slightly forward midrange with superb voicing and the highs are beautiful with tremendous detail without being harsh. Connectivity is extensive. The only negative I can find is the volume knob seems a bit cheap for the price of the unit. If you're looking for a fantastic integrated amp this is sure to fit the bill.
Pros: Sound, connectivity , build quality and looks.
Cons: volume control is a bit cheap feeling.

Solid integrated amplifier that delivers plenty of power
Stephen Aaron from BIG STONE GAP, VA on 8/30/2021
Spending time with a new piece of audio gear is like meeting a new friend that you didn't know you needed until the happy moment of realization hits. The Rotel RA-1592 MKII is highly capable as a go-to for many applications: just add speaker wire, speakers, and your favorite source equipment and let it take care of the heavy lifting. Speaking of heavy lifting, this integrated amp is substantial with a solid build that is heavy enough to let you know the components inside are ready for work. With 200 watts per channel, it has the power and impedance capability to drive most speakers--and drive them well. I tested the Rotel with one set of floor-standing speakers and two sets of bookshelf speakers to see how each responded. Half of the volume dial was my sweet spot for plenty of volume and a rich sound. The high frequencies had a bit less harshness compared to my usual configuration, and the low frequencies had robust reinforcement that spoke highly of the toroidal transformer's ability to deliver the right amount of power quickly and efficiently. The imaging was spot on, and the sound stage was wide. I was particularly impressed by the phono stage, which delivered enough pre-amplification to match volumes of digital source material with no distortion. Vinyl aside, I listened mainly to Qobuz through Roon using the USB input and built-in DAC that worked seamlessly with my setup. That pairing, in particular, was excellent, but there are many inputs to experim
Pros: Excellent sound Plenty of power Solid construction Loads of inputs Highly capable built-in DAC with USB support Wonderful phono stage
