Fantastic

Upgraded from my Rotel 1570 amp, which has been driving my B&W 805 speakers (with a little low-end help from a subwoofer) since 2012. Sound has been beautiful, but I always wondered what upgrading from 120W to 200W would sound like, and whether I'd notice the difference. I was hoping this investment into the 6000 amp would pay off. Solid "yes!" Hard to describe sounds with words, but I can say the attacks are more "present" and "in the room" (drumsticks hitting cymbals, piano hammers hitting their strings, etc). Percussion is more "punchy" and vocals are more alive and textured. Comparing the new amp with the old, Rotel has done more than simply adding W/ch and has tried to improve everything in the 6000's electrical path including gold binding posts and various other design improvements. Now, as long as the original recording/ mixing/ engineering quality was there when the track was produced, it sounds like the performers are in the room with us. Highly recommended!

Pros: Realism. Pure audio. Good return on investment.

Big value for an exceedingly fair price

Walter from New Caney, TX on 7/6/2025

Everything that I was hoping it to be, I have other Rotel products in my HT, this is for a (2) channel system without subwoofer, it is on par with the expected performance, sound quality, quality of build is outstanding, the Rotel remote is a nice upgrade over previous products in their line. In today's age & times the minimal display is not appreciated by all, it's not flashy, but man does it sing so well. : ). I'd put this integrated amp up against products across the spectrum, it would far surpass many and hold it's own against the very best the market has to offer.........a good pairing for Klipsch RP-600M-II & Forte IV, not everyone's cup of tea, but it fits me wonderfully

Pros: non-colored sound presentation, vintage appearance with modern performance, has everything you might need for connectivity

Cons: after being on most of the day it was warmer than expected which may have been my fault as I had a AM/FM tuner on top of it

Almost neck and neck with RA-1592

Brent from COLUMBIA, SC on 6/19/2025

I also owned the RA-1592. For speakers I have the Magnepan LRS+. Sound source is Cambridge Audio Azure 851N playing FLAC files from an SSD and Rotel CD11 Tribute. My intent was to replace my Outlaw RR2160 MkII which sounds great but I feel is just a little under-powered to run the LRS+. I was very pleased with the RA-1592 overall but the bass seemed a little thin as compared to the Outlaw which is about half the wattage of the RA-1592. I didn't sound like it was worth around $2300 more than what the Outlaw RR2160 costs with less features. I returned the RA-1592 and decided to give the RA-6000 a try since it was on sale. Both the RA-6000 and RA-1592 have almost identical specs. The RA-6000 only sounded marginally DIFFERENT, not better than the RA-1592; the bass in the RA-6000 sounded just a little more defined. The DACs on both units sound great and deliver a very crisp, airy and wide sound-stage. Except for the optical inputs, the RA-6000 had a very noticeable hum/buzz with all the inputs even with nothing connected to them. I returned the RA-6000 because of the noise issue, I'd like to think that this was just a defective unit; I did not have that issue with the RA-1592. Upgrades like bass management, HDMI support, updated interface or meters would possibly make this a worthwhile purchase over the RA-1592. I can't justify the price of the RA-6000 vs. RA-1592 for a marginal difference in sound and a slightly nicer outdated looking plastic remote.

Pros: Powerful, sounds clear across the audio spectrum

Cons: No WiFi option, No bass management, No HDMI, No remote app, dated looking remote, could use a facelift like digital VU meters.

Purchased as upgrade of RA-1592 seeing it was on sale. Very surprised at the difference this amp made in sound stage and performance. Don't hesitate to get this amp, it delivers!

Pros: Power, sound stage and quality of sound, too many to list.

Cons: None

Well built...quality unit

Richard from Brea, CA on 5/8/2025

Purchased this Rotel because of the features and inputs provided as opposed to the Yamaha second from the top integrated amp with the meters. They were both in this price range. The packaging was impressive and the fit and finish were outstanding. Simple in design with a great full featured remote (illuminated buttons), controlling the amp is straightforward and uncomplicated. Four stars because there are unexplained settings for the amp not explained in the instructional guide which will be frustrating to most users. Example: changing the tone control...let's say more bass...on the remote changes the setting. One would assume the next time you turn it on it would save that setting. Wrong. In order to really save any of the settings you have to select the tone controls, for example, on the box itself...make the change...then the next time you power up it will be saved. Nowhere in the instructions is that mentioned. So if you want to tweak the unit to your desires, do it on the box...not with the buttons on the remote...you can do that when listening...but, don't expect your efforts to hold the next time powerup. The amp is super quiet and, for my speakers, is completely neutral in sound, distinctive in presentation, and a joy to listen. Rotel makes a quality product and backs it with a five year warranty.

Pros: Multiple options for inputs, quality construction, lighted remote, neutral presentation of sound, distinctive, and rich

Cons: User guide should have explained features that can be saved for subsequent listening

Felt the urge to do a serious upgrade to my home audio set up. My listening habits are simply streaming via iTunes around the house (LR, Den, Backyard & Garage) via Airplay2 & Airport Express2 and in the LR play vinyl to Polk ES 60`s. Upon arrival & setup this thing sounds amazing! Speakers really fill up the house now when played at power prior to making you want to turn it down, if that makes sense. Great L/R instrument separation and a very airy soundstage. Tried several inputs off the bat, iPad thru front USB, gave new life to phono, still mainly playing over WiFi thru Airport Express using mini Toslink (fiber optic) to Optical input on Rotel. Which ensures I am using the onboard Rotel DAC not the AE/DAC. Best sound I`ve ever had. Shopping for a network player now. Only disappointment was 7 day UPS delivery time.

Pros: Great sound Easy set up Ample inputs & outputs Phono Preamp

Cons: None yet

I've been thru a lot of amps but I returned to the Rotel 6000. This is an audiophile amp, is built very well and sounds excellent. From the packaging to the sound it's a first class amp that sounds better than the McIntosh I had. The remote is designed very well and even has a light. Don't be fooled this amp has enough power to drive power hungry speakers as well. Crutchfield really helped me chose and their techs are among the best at answering questions.

Pros: Sound Build Use

Cons: None

Rotel Diamond Series RA-6000

Everything was easy and pleasurable from the beginning of the search on their website, through selection purchase, fast delivery and even unpacking. Of course, most importantly, the RA6000 sounds great. In an attempt to downsize, it replaced my Bryson 7B ST monoblocks and Emotiva preamp and it hangs right in there with them, but the phono stage sounds better to my ears.

Rotel Diamond Series RA-6000

This a is genuinely terrific amplifier. I was using an older Krell S300i and the Rotel beats it hands down. It has tons of power and makes my first edition PSB Synchrony One's sing. If you like to listen closely to music, to distinguish instruments and different musical lines, if you love the the clash of symbols and the sharp thump of the bass behind a jazz solo, you'll love this amplifier. If voices are your thing, they will be "in the room," vivid and clear. Obviously, if the recording - vinyl or cd - is wanting or poor, the Rotel will do little to make it better; indeed, if anything, the amp will remind you of the bad source material. But if you put on a decent sounding record or cd - much less audiophile material - or stream quality sources, you will be very happy indeed. It's a wonderful piece of equipment.

Too early to make clear decision

Crutchfield customer from Laurel, MD on 5/15/2023

Verified employee review (What's this?)

So far it's ok. Too early to make a clear judgement. Couple little things that bother me. The blue circle around the volume knob is not a light, just blue plastic ring, which I don't understand. The service reps at Crutchfield weren't really sure, so they had to call Rotel, which took a few days. The remote is way too busy (however, it does light up nicely )but that's fine because would rather navigate through the unit itself. Which brings me to the buttons....not a fan, too small and difficult to see for us older guys. The display light is on Dim until you use the remote to brighten, every time you turn on. Maybe I just haven't figured out yet whether it has a permanent solution. Definitely takes 3 or 4 songs before this amp really opens up. I've only had it for 2 weeks and maybe 10 hours of playing time but Crutchfield wanted my review now to possibly win a $350 gift card, which these things never happen for me. I will say that I purchased the "scratch & dent" version to save $600 and NO scratches or dents, thank you very much!

DEAD ON ARRIVAL

Dan from Santa Paula, CA on 10/2/2022

Verified employee review (What's this?)

This unit arrived with packaging undamaged, but it was absolutely dead on arrival. Unit would not turn on despite trying several electrical outlets that I know were working. Crutchfield technical support tried to help, but also concluded that the unit was defective. They are sending replacement. I must say that I am now VERY wary of Rotel Quality Confrol given that they would ship a unit that was obviously defective. I can only conclude that they either simply don't test their products or their components are so cheap they cannot survive shipping in well-protected packaging. It makes me very nervous that there will be other issues with the replacement unit over time. In addition, the power button and volume knob feel cheap when compared to my much less expensive Yamaha amp.

One of the best stereo amplifier systems

Dale from Lacey, WA on 9/1/2022

Verified employee review (What's this?)

I initially purchased the Rotel RA1572MKII (120wpc), I liked it so much that I was considering the RA1592MKII (200wpc) and then they announced the Rotel RA-6000 Diamond series. Was this amplifier worth $1,300- more than the RA1592MKII in performance? I took a chance and ordered it. Yep! It was more than I expected. This machine gives the 'stage presence one expects from going to a live performance. I'm Bi-Amping it and running it with a pair of KEF Reference 1 speakers. Anything you run though this machine (CD's, streaming radio, streaming lossless music, etc.) sounds great. I couldn't ask for a better system to play my music on

Pros: Great system, flawless. Produces music that sounds 'live'.

Cons: Rotel remote controls on the RA1572MKII and the RCD-1572MKII (CD) suck. Cheap and cluttered. The remote for the Rotel RA-6000 (amplifier) is large and backlit. All the Rotel remote control should be like this one.
