Product Research

Features

7-Channel Power Amplifier: The OSD Audio NERO Series HTA7200 is a 7-channel power amplifier that has been designed for use in home theater applications with an AV preamplifier (sold separately). The HTA7200 employs a robust Class AB amplifier that is rated at 125 watts x 7 channels into 8-ohms at 1kHz with 0.1% THD or 180 watts x 7 channels into 4-ohms at 1kHz with 0.1% THD (all channels driven) for dynamic, room-filling surround sound. The Class AB power amplifier achieves 110dB SNR at full power which allows for a very wide dynamic range, allowing you to hear the softest and loudest sounds more clearly.

Note: The HTA7200 is a dedicated power amplifier that will require a separate AV preamplifier (sold separately).

Dual Toroidal Transformers: The HTA7200 employs dual toroidal transformers designed to supply stable current to an array of four 10000uF energy storage capacitors. This power supply architecture guarantees high-current delivery even when driving the most demanding of loudspeakers.

Balanced & Unbalanced Analog Inputs: The NERO Series HTA7200 power amplifier is equipped with seven balanced XLR inputs and seven unbalanced RCA inputs for Front Left, Front Right, Center, Surround Left, Surround Right, Surroud Back/Height Left, and Surround Back/Height Right channels. Balanced XLR connections offer the highest transmission quality, particularly over long cable lengths, because they reject noise and hum pickup. If your preamplifier does not have XLR outputs, use the RCA inputs.

Binding Posts Speaker Terminals: Seven sets of speaker terminals are provided for connecting a pair of front speakers, a pair of surround speakers, a pair of surround back/height speakers, and a center-channel speaker. The binding post will accept bare wire (up to 12AWG), pin-connectors, spade-lugs, and banana plugs (single only). The binding post terminals are gold-plated for excellent audio signal transfer and to provide resistance against corrosion.

Trigger Input/Output: The OSD Audio HTA7200 power amplifier is outfitted with a 3.5mm trigger input and 3.5mm trigger output to synchronize power on/off with other components that also feature trigger inputs and outputs. The trigger input and output are rated at 8V to 24V.

Detachable AC Power Cord: The HTA7200 comes with a detachable 6' AC power cord (IEC 3-prong) that plugs into the back of the power amplifier and into and AC power outlet or surge protector/line-conditioner (sold separately).

Q
What's the 4ohm, and 8ohm power output from 20hz-20khz?

Ronald, I cannot answer your question, I would suggest asking an advisor at Crutchfield or reach out to OSD directly..

I believe that has to do with what kind of speakers You have. To be compatible if your speakers are 4 Ohm or speaker is 8 Ohm. I'm not sure if that is something you need to worry about. I have a speaker that says it's 6 ohm and another that's 8 Ohm and than another that says it's minimum impedance is 3.7 ohm, but it is 8 Ohm compatible. I remember that the Ohm value also can determine the output power. I don't think that is something that can be changed. I have 4 different brands of speakers and the Ohm values are not all the same and the OSD Nero and all the other equipment play nice together. I've had no training in electronics and certainly not an expert about this, I don't think it matters much unless you have some kind of unusual or high end speakers that require special, specific Ohm needs. Good luck to you sir

We were not given the power output for that frequency range and we have not done any testing to discover that rating. OSD does not list it on their site and its likely the only way to get this information is to call OSD using 888-779-4968.
