Whether you're looking to jam out to music or add overhead effects to your home theater system, OSD's ICE1080 in-ceiling speaker has you covered. Its large 10" woofer delivers stout, articulate bass, while the 2-1/2" midrange and 1" silk dome tweeter produce smooth mids and highs. Speaking of which, both the midrange and tweeter are aimable, meaning you can direct the mid and high frequencies toward your preferred spot within the room.
Clean installation in your ceiling
OSD has added some nice touches to make installation easier. The ICE1080 fits into a 12-1/4" cutout and attaches to your ceiling using the four L-shaped "dog ear" style mounting brackets on the back of the speaker. The included grille can be painted to match your ceiling or decor color, making the speakers almost visually disappear in your room.

Features
3-Way Driver Design: The OSD Audio OSD-ICE1080HD in-ceiling loudspeaker features a 3-way driver design with a pivoting 1" ferrofluid-cooled silk dome tweeter, a 2.5" pivoting paper cone midrange driver, and a 10" paper cone woofer for clean highs, smooth mids, and rich bass.
Pivoting Tweeter & Midrange: The tweeter and midrange are mounted on a pivoting assembly that allows you to focus the sound more directly at your specific listening location.
Butyl Rubber Surround: The 10" paper cone woofer utilizes butyl rubber surround. With almost double the shelf life of foam, butyl rubber has been the choice of speaker designers looking to optimize the sound based upon materials that go together. The surround is just one of the integral parts of the speaker's motor structure. Butyl Rubber gives the speaker more excursion capability featuring a deeper bass with a wider frequency response, plus a longer life.
Spring Post Terminals: The OSD-ICE1080HD is outfitted with a set of gold-plated, spring post terminals that will accept bare wire (up to 12AWG) and banana plus (single only).
Paintable Grille: The included metal mesh grille featues a white fiinish, but can be painted to match the color of your ceiling. The outer-frame of the in-ceiling speaker is also finished white and can be painted. The grille is not low-profile and protrudes 1" from the ceiling.
In-Ceiling Installation: The OSD Audio OSD-ICE1080HD loudspeaker requires a round cutout in the ceiling that measures 12.25" (diameter) x 6.125" (depth). The speaker is secured in the ceiling with integrated "dog-leg" (L-shaped) clamps. The mounting clamps support 0.25" to 0.75" thick drywall. There needs to be at least 0.625" of clearance around the inside of the cutout opening to accommodate the integrated "dog-leg" clamps.
Applications: The OSD-ICE1080HD in-ceiling speaker can be used in a 2ch stereo or distributed audio application. In a 2ch stereo setup, make sure the two OSD-ICE1080HD loudspeakers are spaced between 6' to 10' apart for good stereo separation.
