Features
Powered Subwoofer: The OSD Nero DueVoce DualX8 powered subwoofer incorporates digital amplifier technology with an active woofer and passive radiator design, plus tuned cabinetry.
- 8" Subwoofer + 8" Passive Radiator: The OSD Nero DueVoce DualX8 powered subwoofer houses a front-firing 8" woofer and down-firing 8" passive radiator for deep bass down to 17Hz. The 8" woofer and 8" passive radiator both feature a woven fiberglass cone with rubber surround.
- Class D Amplification: A 130 watt (RMS) / 300 watt (Peak) highly-efficient Class D amplifier is used to drive the 8" woven fiber glass cone woofer for powerful bass with a maximum of 107dB of sound-pressure level.
- Fined-Tuned Cabinet: An attractive furniture quality cabinet has been finely tuned to provide the foundation for high sound quality and clarity.
Rear-Mounted Controls: Rear mounted volume control, low pass crossover, and phase control ensure optimal system integration.
- Volume Level: The rotary volume control adjusts the volume level of the powered subwoofer in relation to the other speakers in your system.
- Low Pass Crossover: The Low Pass Crossover is used to set the upper limit of the frequencies that Sub8 will reproduce. The Low Pass Crossover can be adjusted between 40Hz and 200Hz.
- Phase Switch: The Phase Switch is normally set to 0°. If the sub is positioned significantly farther from the main speakers or if the powered subwoofer is used in a stereo setup where the amplifier driving the main speakers inverts the phase signal, the 180° setting may be desirable. Listen with the switch in both positions and select the setting that gives the fullest sound. If in doubt, or if there is little difference, leave the switch set to 0°
Stereo RCA Input: The DueVoce DualX8 powered sub is outfitted with left and right RCA Line Level inputs. These inputs are for use with stereo receivers and integrated amplifiers featuring stereo preamp outputs or AV receivers and processors featuring an LFE subwoofer output. If your receiver, integrated amp, or processor only has a single subwoofer line output or LFE output, either the left or right input jack of the powered sub can be used.
Power Mode: The OSD Nero DueVoce DualX8 powered subwoofer can be manually turned On or Off; or can set to automatically turn On or Off with Auto Signal Sensing.
- Manual:: If the powered sub is set to "On" mode, it will always be ready to play. However, undesired noise from interference or connections changing may be heard. Use the standard "On" mode only if needed, set the power switch to "Off" when not in use.
- Auto: Setting the switch to "Auto" enables Auto Signal Sense, meaning the powered sub will automatically turn On and Off with the presence or absence of an input signal. The subwoofer will enter standby mode if no signal is sensed for longer than 15 minutes.
Detachable AC Power Cord: A detachable 6' AC power cord (IEC 3-prong) will plug into the back of the powered sub and into an AC power wall outlet or surge protector (sold separately).
Placement Options: The powered subwoofer provides crucial impact to your multichannel home theater or 2ch stereo system. Low bass frequencies are omni-directional, meaning you can usually place the powered sub just about anywhere in your room with good results. However, placing the subwoofer on the same wall as your main speakers tend lend the best results. Also, placing the subwoofer in a corner will increase bass output. However, corner-loading the powered sub too much can "muddy" the bass response. In this case, move the powered sub away from the back and side walls.
