OSD OVC300
Guest from KENOSHA, WI on 7/7/2023
I purchased and installed the OSD-OVC300 for my speaker installation in our backyard. Installation was easy but be aware that the wires used for hooking up this device are abit on the short side. Remedied this by getting some 20 awg wire in the same colors as were used on the device and soldered extensions on them and isolated the joints with heat shrink. Used WAGO brand crimps to make the connection with the wires from the OSD OVC300 and the wires from my receiver and out to the speakers. Much easier and neater then wire nuts and tape plus they are reusable if any modifications are done down the road. Works great and is a real asset for ease of volume control in the yard.

Works great! I found it challenging to install because the wires don't get hidden inside like a normal wall switch. So making 8 connections (4 in 4 out) I needed to be creative in using electrical conduit supplies to hide the wires. I installed against a wall on a screened in porch. The only other issue was there is no label showing the different resistance settings. The directions do seem to show where to set but I need to take a pic and greatly expand it to see. Now that it's installed it's really great. Volume goes from all out to nothing with enough stops to find the volume you want. It appears to be well built for outside use. I'm happy with it.
Pros: Works great
Cons: Install not easy Should label resistance better

Pretty easy and straight forward installation. Needs the nominal volume on my receiver to be higher than without the controller. But after adjusting the volume on the receiver and the controller, I found a happy medium, such that I can crank it up without having to adjust the receiver volume which is in my basement. Wide volume range. Just wish mounting holes were a little larger. I was installing in vinyl siding so had to find long, thin screws.
Pros: Solid fixture Impedance matching switch Long, labeled pigtails, easy to work with. Compatible with 3/4 inch PVC. Wide volume range
Cons: Small diameter mounting holes Mounting screws not included
