Wireless surround speaker support
Jeff from Dagsboro, DE on 6/18/2025
Just installed this product in my system- Denon AVR-X4700 as preamp, Denon AVR 5803 as amp, Polk LSiM705 Towers, and rear Boston VRM60's - and I had no conduit to run the rears in my new home. I was considering abandoning rear surround and just Listen to two channel. I looked at under carpet wire but the hassle of wall to wall carpet just weighed on me. Recently I started to look at wireless. Having purchased a fair amount of equipment from Crutchfield over the last 8 years I came across this product. Thought I would give it try and voila I have my surround sound stage! My only complaint are the wire interface for the transmitter with is press lock style. My wire gauge is a bit oversized for these connectors. Wish they had mini banana on both units. Sonically I am very happy with them. You might be too.
Pros: Point solution to no wire path Sonically clean and no interference
Cons: Press-in wire connections on transmitter to small should be mini banana like receiver Costly given only two channel support and for the money should not have the press-in connections

Sound quality not for real high fidelity listening.
SAMUEL from MADISON, TN on 4/5/2025
Thought I would test this before I "finalized" the set up. This was one of those purchases that came from the outlet with a whopping savings of ...I believe $20. As I REALLY WANTED THIS OSD NERO SYSTEM TO WORK, I set it up first with small, but powerful JBL Control 1 Pro speakers, using a Yamaha RX-A1030 receiver...the volume coming from the speakers was not what I felt it should be, so I tried a different configuration. A McIntosh MAC 1900 with a pair of Polk TSx220 speakers, and then the Polk speakers with a Sony STR-DH550 receiver. BOTTOM LINE WITH EACH CONFIGURATION (and each configuration set up whereby the transmitting unit was no further than FIVE (5) FEET to the receiving unit)...the result was always the same: Volume was TOO WEAK to really enjoy the fine sounds of a fresh (new) LP album. I am hoping I can return this unit even though it is a Crutchfield outlet purchase of March 13, 2025...24 days ago. My traveling combined with the time required to configure & reconfigure these attempts, delayed a quick return of this unit.
Pros: I think this unit could be acceptable as an adjunct to a lesser demanding listening ear.
Cons: Already stated most of the cons. It helps to be somewhat of a audiophile to set up this unit.

There are frequent pops with the unit I received. I have tried switching the frequency band and repairing the transmitter and receiver with no luck. Really disappointing.
Pros: Setup easy
Cons: Pops make the product completely unusable

Works great for rear surround speakers!
Dennis from Charlottesville, VA on 12/28/2024
Rather easy setup. Much easier than running wires under carpet or over ceiling. Certainly enough watts in included amp to drive 2 small speakers at high volume. No noticeable delay/lag. I highly recommend them!

OSD Nero WRSKII - Wifi Killer
Robert from Prescott, AZ on 11/2/2024
Don't buy and if you have already bought, check your wifi signal speed. Mine dropped from 250 mbps on average to less 70 mbps on average. If you have a streaming house this will slow everything down and you will start getting the dreaded slow circle of death. Had the cable company out had tech's on the phone, worked the problem for a couple months. Finally, started shutting off TV's, Security system, ring door bell, one at a time, and then the OSD wireless system. Immediately the Wifi speed went back to 250 mbps, but lost 2 speakers. No issues since. Crutchfield's answer, we didn't know. No refund, no credit!!!
Pros:
Cons: Wifi Killer, Speakers start cracking at when the transmitters are at 50% or more.

The future is here, it actually works with no lag or pops. I choose this over a cheaper option due to the higher wattage. I have no attic space and tile floors, spent 4 boring years with no rear speakers until now.
Pros: Good wattage compared to others
Cons: Must manually turn on and off the receiver and transmitter but it's worth the clean look of no wires

Couldn't be happier with my purchase
Mark from SAN DIEGO, CA on 10/27/2024
Couldn't be happier! I wanted to wait 60 days before posting a review. Very happy with my purchase (as usual for Crutchfield). Had some worries about setup and signal traffic from other devices as I live in a large city. Of course Crutchfield has excellent tech support which was way I purchased from them. However setup was plug and play out of the box. I did not need to set it to search for other frequencies. I read about 'popping' issues on the internet, I've had no such issue with daily use last 60 days. Clear and crisp Atmos signal to my rear surround. Full disclosure, my setup is a small living room, units are 9 feet apart with clear line of sight. But that said, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I recommend this equipment without reservation. Thank you again Crutchfield.
Pros: Setup easy. Clear wireless Atmos signal to my rear surround.
Cons: None

Great option for wireless
Daniel from Meridian, ID on 9/26/2024
THE OSD Nero is exactly what you need is you're looking to not run cables across your floor or through the walls. I ran into a situation of hooking up my rear speakers after installing LVP flooring. I had the speaker wire under my carpet and no big deal at the time. But when I installed new floors that wasn't an option anymore. My original plan was to run the wire under the crawl space but when I got under the house that option became much more difficult, due to the location of foundation of the house and the outer wall. I then thought about running it through the ceiling but that would also be difficult due to no access to the ceiling. I researched and found the OSD and thought to give them a try knowing if I don't like them I can return them. I don't get the power I would if I was hardwired into the a/v receiver but they're doing enough to still have ATMOS and sound great. I used Onkyo's speaker virtualizer to calibrate the speaker and then fine tuned them to what I like (highly recommend). Overall you can't beat the ease of installing them. The one negative I would say is the device to hooks up the a/v receiver doesn't allow banana plugs which would make a better connection in my opinion.
Pros: Easy to setup

Got one to add 2 more speakers to round out system to 5.1.4. Fast service, but first receiver/amp unit was DOA. Power supply LED on, but no LED lit on receiver or communication with transmitter. Units promptly replaced. Replacement units seem ok. Does really help system sound! No dropouts observed.

Flawless install - Perfect performance.
David Byron from Payson, AZ on 7/30/2024
Researched - So many options available - most need workarounds and compromises for problems. With the OSD Nero it was unpack - attach wires - plug in - power up - done. Performance is perfect; I'm using it for living room Surround Sound to replace an elderly Bose with a big Yamaha. Once hooked up it was immediately and correctly operational.
Pros: Very straightforward no workarounds.
Cons: none

No Wires....Great Sound!
Ron from Spring Hill, FL on 1/18/2024
I was skeptical, at best, initially because I have had other bluetooth equipment in the past that suffered from dropouts. That is not the case with this equipment!...it has not dropped out once and functions as stated.....I'm very pleased with this purchase. I have purchased many items from Crutchfield over the years and, as always, they came thru without any issues!
Pros: Easy Installation great sound quality

Good product with unclear insturctions / tedious trial and error
Ian from Los Angeles, CA on 10/18/2022
This isn't the most straightforward install (the instructions for setting up the transmitter are especially confusing in how they gloss over how the outputs from your stereo receiver connect to the transmitter box -- I had to contact Crutchfield, which was a very helpful experience, though). In addition, the back speakers are quite low in each mix I've tried thus far, so it requires turning up the receiver box quite a bit, which, in turn, boosts the subwoofer -- it's all a bit unbalanced. All that said, it works quite well when up and running (better than Rocketfish's similar product from years ago) and I'm reasonably impressed by the sound quality.
Pros: Sound is clear, strong once working. The receiver / transmitter have never had an issue immediately connecting.
Cons: The instructions are a mess, in my opinion, and can be quite confusing in the first half of the install. The product / buyer deserves more.
