Features
Overview: The Milty Pro Zerostat 3 is an effective way to reduce static electricity on any surface. Static electricity on vinyl records can attract dust and cause unwanted pops when the record is played. It is also effective on compact discs and DVDs. The Zerostat 3 is made of durable blue plastic, and requires no batteries or refills. It has a handy pistol grip for easy use, and comes with an ion test indicator that fits into the tip of the unit.
Functionality: The Milty Zerostat 3 is equipped with a unique piezo-electric crystal device which generates positive and negative ions when the trigger is squeezed and released. These ions neutralize the static charge on your vinyl records, improving the sound quality. The Zerostat 3 can also be used to greatly reduce static on sensitive electronic equipment, clothing, or other areas where static is a problem.
Instructions: The Zerostat 3 is powered by your hand squeezing the trigger. No batteries or other external power source is needed. When cleaning your vinyl, you should hold the record in your hand, and point the Zerostat 3 at the record from approximately 12 inches away. Squeeze the trigger slowly (> 2 seconds) to release a powerful stream of positively-charged ions over the surface of the record. Squeezing the trigger too quickly will cause the unit to emit a clicking sound. Releasing the trigger slowly sends out negative ions to neutralize the positive ones, thus sweeping away static from the record. This process should be repeated four times over several points across the surface of the record.
Testing: The Zerostat 3 comes with a testing device that fits into the end of the unit. When the trigger is squeezed, the LED indicator in the testing device will glow, indicating the unit is working properly. The test indicator should be removed before using the unit.
Product Lifetime: The Milty Zerostat 3 is expected to last for up to 50,000 trigger operations in its lifetime.
