Before he founded Tributaries in 1991, owner Joe Perfito spent 15 years working for McIntosh Laboratory, Inc. Back then, he says, the concept of designing cables based on sound scientific principles was considered extremely radical. That became his company's mission, though, and it continues to produce audio cables designed to curtail distortion, deliver reliable tonal balance, and reduce the noise floor to near zero to bring your music to life with rich detail.

Solid copper conductors for a super-clean signal

These cables use ultra-pure, highly conductive, linear-crystal oxygen-free copper (LC-OFC) developed specifically for audio applications. Each conductor features multiple solid (rather than stranded) gauge wires that allow for smooth, transparent, distortion-free signal transfer. Plus, each conductor is individually insulated to eliminate any interaction between them, for virtually noise-free flow for your music.

Precision-twisted design with tellurium-copper connectors

Series 8A cables use a precision-twisted design with dedicated positive and negative conductors, plus a robust shield connected to the source end only. That way, the shield captures any interference and sends it to ground at the source, isolating noise from the input stage.

The RCA connectors are made with tellurium copper for excellent conductivity and durability. And they're silver-soldered to the cables, further ensuring clean, neutral signal transfer that lets your music come through with clear, uncolored brilliance.

Model 8A MKII Stereo RCA Cables: The Tributaries Series 8 Model 8A MKII stereo RCA cables incorporate a host of patented technologies resulting in a a dead-quiet neutral sounding cable that accurately produces the sound of live music.

Linear Crystal Oxygen Free Copper (LC-OFC): The Model 8A MKII stereo RCA cables feature extremely high-grade 20AWG linear crystal copper (LC-OFC) developed specifically for audio applications. Tributaries LC-OFC is carefully drawn to produce a low crystal volume per foot resulting in less signal loss and distortion. Each conductor consists of multiple solid gauges that are mathematically and tonally chosen to support low, mid and high frequencies for a natural sounding cable. Individually insulating each conductor yields zero strand interaction and better sound quality.
Twin-Axial Design: The precision-twisted Twin-Axial design of the Model 8A MKII cables have dedicated conductors for the positive signal and negative return signal plus a heavy shield that is connected to the source end only. In this design the shield will capture any induced interference sending it to ground at the source end thereby isolating noise away from the input stage of the load. This configuration ensures a clear signal transfer with overall noise rejection as close to balanced as possible.
High Quality Connectors & Jacket: The Series 8 cables are silver soldered onto proprietary RCA connectors made with Tellurium (TE) copper contacts, increasing conductivity and strength. In addition, the cable features a decorative woven jacket over flexible PVC.
