Before he founded Tributaries in 1991, owner Joe Perfito spent 15 years working for McIntosh Laboratory, Inc. Back then, he says, the concept of designing cables based on sound scientific principles was considered extremely radical. Solid copper conductors for a super-clean signal

These cables use ultra-pure, highly conductive, linear-crystal oxygen-free copper (LC-OFC) developed specifically for audio applications. Each conductor features multiple solid (rather than stranded) gauge wires that allow for smooth, transparent, distortion-free signal transfer. Plus, each conductor is individually insulated to eliminate any interaction between them, for virtually noise-free flow for your music.

Precision-twisted design with tellurium copper connectors

Series 8AB cables use a precision-twisted, triple-balanced design with dedicated positive, negative, and ground conductors. The conductors have equal impedance and are surrounded by a separate shield to keep noise from reaching the signal path.

The XLR connectors are made with tellurium copper for excellent conductivity and durability. And they're silver-soldered to the cables, further ensuring clean, neutral signal transfer that lets your music come through with clear, uncolored brilliance.

Model 8AB Balanced XLR Cables: The Tributaries Series 8 Model 8AB MKII balanced XLR audio cables feature extremely high-grade linear crystal copper (LC-OFC) developed specifically for audio applications. The Model 8AB balanced XLR cables are dead-quiet neutral sounding cables that accurately produce the sound of live music. The balanced audio cables have been assembled by hand with foreign and domestic parts in Orlando Florida, USA.

Linear Crystal Copper (LC-OFC): The linear crystal copper (LC-OFC) used in the Model 8AB MKII balanced audio cables is carefully drawn to produce a low crystal volume per foot resulting in less signal loss and distortion. Each conductor consists of multiple solid 20 gauges that are mathematically and tonally chosen to support low, mid and high frequencies for a natural sounding cable.
Triple Balanced Design: The Series 8 balanced cables are then precision-twisted, triple balanced in design with three dedicated conductors featuring equal impedance for positive, negative and ground surrounded by a separate shield to keep noise from reaching the single path. Individually insulating each conductor yields zero strand interaction and better sound quality.
High Quality Connectors & Jacket: The cables are silver soldered onto proprietary XLR connectors made with Tellurium (TE) copper contacts increasing conductivity and strength. To reduce signal hum during connection, the Tributaries Series 8 XLR connectors have the female ground (pin 1) placed forward in the shell so the ground connects first. The coax digital audio cable also features a decorative woven jacket over flexible PVC.
