Overview: The Apple AirPods 4 are individual in-ear buds designed to work with your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or Mac, as well as most other Bluetooth-enabled devices, including Android phones and tablets. The true-wireless AirPods power on and connect automatically with your device when you open the lid of the included charging case. AirPods use internal sensors and motion accelerometers to detect when they're in your ears, or when you tap them to control playback, answer a call, or activate Siri. The AirPods 4 come with a charging case that has the capacity to charge the AirPods five additional times for a total of 30 hours of listening time. The AirPods 4 are 1.17" in height, 0.72" wide, and 0.785" deep, and weigh 0.14 ounces each.

Bluetooth 5.3: The Apple AirPods 4 have Bluetooth 5.3 Wireless technology. They are compatible with iPhone and iPod touch (with the latest version of iOS), iPad (with the latest version of iPadOS), Apple Watch (with the latest version of watchOS), Mac (with the latest version of macOS), Apple TV (with the latest version of tvOS), and Apple Vision Pro (with the latest version of visionOS). They are also work with non-Apple Bluetooth devices, but functionality may be limited.

Power Requirements: Each individual Apple AirPod has a built-in rechargeable battery. The batteries are charged whenever you place them inside of the Charging Case, which contains its own rechargeable battery. The AirPods 4 are equipped with Apple's new H2 headphone chip, which makes them more stable and more efficient than models with the H1 chip. The AirPods 4 provide up to 5 hours of listening and up to 4 hours of talk time on a single charge. A 5-minute Quick Charge in the case gives you up to 1 hour of listening time or 45 minutes talk time. You can check the charge status of your AirPods and Charging Case with a compatible Apple device (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac).

Charging Case: Charging the AirPods is as simple as placing them in their new Charging Case. The case has enough stored power to charge the AirPods five additional times to give you a total of up to 30 hours of listening time and up to 20 hours of talk time. The LED indicator on the front of the case lets you know the AirPods are charging. The Charging Case can be charged via USB-C (cable not included) and a USB charging adapter. The dimensions of the Charging Case are: Width 1.97", Height 1.82", Depth 0.833"; Weight 1.14 ounces.

IP54: The AirPods 4 are dust, sweat, and water resistant for non-water sports and exercise. They have a rating of IP54.

Apple H2 Headphone Chip: The AirPods4 are equipped with the Apple H2 headphone chip, the same one found in the AirPods Pro 2nd Generation. The H2 chip helps make your audio sound better for both music and phone calls.

Voice Isolation: Another new feature of the H2 chip is Voice Isolation which minimizes background noise while clarifying the sound of your voice. Voice Isolation makes your voice stand out and easier to understand, especially in loud or windy conditions. Voice Isolation requires devices running iOS 18, iPadOS 18, or macOS Sequoia and later.

Microphones: The AirPods have built-in dual beam-forming microphones that focus on your voice, while rejecting ambient noise, making your phone calls crisp and clear.

Adaptive EQ: The inward facing microphones hear what you're hearing. The Adaptive EQ automatically adjusts the low and midrange frequencies, so you're hearing the most detail in your music.

Spatial Audio: When watching a supported show or movie, or listening to supported music on iPhone or iPad, you can enjoy Spatial Audio and Dynamic Head Tracking to create a unique immersive, theater-like experience. Spatial Audio surrounds you with sound that makes you feel like you're inside the scene or watching live on-stage. Built-in gyroscopes and accelerometers dynamically track the movement of your head to anchor the sound to your device. You can control Spatial Audio and Dynamic Head Tracking for each supported app in the Control Center of your iPhone or iPad.

Sensors and Accelerometers: The AirPods 4 feature built-in optical sensors and motion accelerometers that can automate numerous functions. When the AirPods are pulled out of their Charging Case, they instantly turn on and connect to your iOS device or compatible Bluetooth device. As soon as you put them in your ears, your music starts playing. Take one or both AirPods out and the built-in skin-detect sensors automatically pause the music you're listening to. Force sensors in the AirPods detect the tapping gestures that help you change tracks, or change the volume. The AirPods 4 feature a separate voice accelerometer that can detect when you're talking on the phone or to Siri, and will engage the microphone and reject background noise so your call is crystal clear.

Environmental Impact: AirPods 4 are designed and manufactured with numerous features to reduce their environmental impact. They are made with 100% recycled rare earth elements in all their magnets, 100% recycled gold in the plating of multiple printed circuit board, and 100% recycled tin in the solder on multiple printed circuit boards. In addition, the packaging is 100% fiber-based. The battery charging system meets all requirements of the U.S. Department of Energy.
