PetSafe Drinkwell Pagoda and Seascape Fountains provide your pets with a steady stream of water to drink, but the secret to keeping that stream fresh is the hardworking filter inside your fountain. Remove it after a few weeks of use, and you'll probably notice that the white part has caught all kinds of fur and debris. What you can't really see — but your pet can smell and taste — is that the darker part has been busy, too. That's the activated carbon that removes bad tastes and odors.
To maintain optimal water freshness, you'll need to change the filter about every four weeks. If you have multiple pets, you might want to increase that frequency. This will extend the life of your fountain, and keep your critters happy in the process.

Features
Overview: The PetSafe Replacement Carbon Filters (PAC00-13906) are designed for use with Drinkwell Pagoda, Seascape, Avalon, and Sedona Pet Fountains, as well as the Creekside Ceramic Pet Fountain. The filter catches hair and debris, and help keep your pet's water tasting clean and fresh. This package includes four cylindrical (2-1/4" diameter x 1-5/16" tall) filters.
Activated Carbon: The PetSafe Drinkwell filters feature activated carbon made from coconut shells. The carbon removes bad tastes and odors from the water, making it more appealing to drink. The carbon particles are enclosed inside a duo-density polyester pad which removes solid particles, such as hair, dirt, and food debris from the water as it passes through. Filters will extend the life of the fountain's pump, and typically should be replaced every 2 to 4 weeks. The filters should be placed in the filter housing with the large side facing down.
