Inputs and Outputs Notes
Warranty Note
Power Strip: This Profile California AP1040 amplifier features a bright red power light strip on the top center of the unit to indicate when the amp is turned on. The 4-3/4" power light strip consists of six LEDs. The green LED on the power/speaker terminal side of the amplifier will also light when power is sent to the amp.
High-to-Low Level Converters: The amp is equipped with two external high (speaker) level to low (line) level converters to allow you to connect the amplifier to a receiver or factory radio without RCA preamp outputs or with only one pair of preouts. After splicing the receiver's speaker wires to the converter's speaker wires, you can simply plug the converter into the amp's RCA preamp input.
Line Outputs: The AP1040 includes a pair of RCA line outputs for sending an unfiltered signal to another amplifier or component without splitting the signal. Note: The line outputs pass through the signal from channels 3 and 4.
Protection Circuits: This amp has three types of protection circuits: DC offset, short circuit and thermal protection. The red LED on the left side of the amplifier will light to indicate that the amplifier has gone into protection.
Built-In Crossovers: This amplifier includes built-in variable low pass and high-pass filters, one for the front channels (1 & 2) and one for the rear channels (3 & 4), each with a slope of 12dB/octave. The low-pass filters are continuously variable from 50-250Hz, while the high-pass filters are continuously variable from 80Hz to 1.2kHz. Each pair of channels has a three-way switch which lets you choose between low-pass, high-pass, or full-range operation.
Bass/Treble Boost: The rear channels have a bass boost circuit, variable from 0 to 12dB at 45 Hz. The front channels have a treble boost circuit, variable from 0 to 12dB at 8kHz.
Gold-plated Terminals: The AP1040 features gold-plated speaker and power terminals and RCA jacks for maximum signal transfer and corrosion resistance.
Set Screw Terminals: The power and ground connections feature set-screw terminals that can accept up to 4-gauge bare wire. The remote turn-on and speaker output set-screw terminals can accept up to 6-gauge bare wire. Two Allen wrenches (2.5mm and 3mm) are supplied to tighten/loosen the set screws.
Remote Turn-on: In addition to turning on and turning off the amplifier via the head unit's remote output, the remote turn-on also operates the reset circuit for the amplifier's protection system. The remote turn-on lead must be connected to the head unit in order to reset the protection circuits.
Warranty: The manual indicates a 1-year parts and labor warranty, however Profile has extended the warranty to three years parts and labor for units purchased from Crutchfield.

AWESOME!!! I use it for my mid-range speakers and tweeters. The perfect amp for a great price. Most name brand companies sell amps on average about $1.00 per watt, so if you think about it, this amp puts out 225watts x 2 @ 4ohms(RMS). Like I said, AWESOME!!!
