About the Profile AP1200

Give your sound system some West Coast style with a California Series amplifier from Profile. These brushed aluminum and chrome beauties look expensive, so you may not believe your eyes when you check the price. You get high-end features like gold-plated outputs, a brushed aluminum case, variable filters, and a 3-year warranty for less than you might expect.
High-powered bass response doesn't have to cost a lot of money, especially when you fire up your system with the AP1200. It's an affordable solution if you're looking to add a subwoofer (or two) to fill out your existing system. The adjustable bass boost lets you dial in some serious low end punch, and the variable high- and low-pass filters let you contour the sound to match your vehicle.

Power Strip: This Profile California AP1200 amplifier features a bright red power light strip on the top center of the unit to indicate when the amp is turned on. The 5-1/2" power light strip consists of seven LEDs. The green LED on the power/speaker terminal side of the amplifier will also light when power is sent to the amp.
Dual MOSFET Power Supplies: The amplifier features dual MOSFET power supplies for a more stable output.
Bass Level Remote Control: This amp is equipped with a wired remote control which allows you to adjust the level of the amplifier. The remote is designed to be mounted under the dash to allow control from the driver's seat. Dimensions: Width=1.585" (2.566" including mounting tabs), Height=0.75", Depth=1.368" (1.758" including knob), Cable length=16.25'.
High-to-Low Level Converter: The amp is equipped with an external high (speaker) level to low (line) level converter to allow you to connect the amplifier to a receiver or factory radio without RCA preamp outputs. After splicing the receiver's speaker wires to the converter's speaker wires, you can simply plug the converter into the amp's RCA preamp input.
Line Outputs: The AP1200 includes a pair of RCA line outputs for sending an unfiltered signal to another amplifier or component without splitting the signal.
Protection Circuits: This amp has three types of protection circuits: DC offset, short circuit and thermal protection. The red LED on the left side of the amplifier will light to indicate that the amplifier has gone into protection.
Built-In Crossover: This amplifier includes built-in variable high pass and low pass filters, each with a slope of 12dB/octave. The low pass filter is continuously variable from 50-250Hz, while the high-pass filter is continuously variable from 80Hz-1.2kHz. You can configure the amp for low-pass, full range, or high-pass operation with the 3-way switch.
Gold-plated Terminals: The AP1200 features gold-plated speaker and power terminals and RCA jacks for maximum signal transfer and corrosion resistance.
Set Screw Terminals: The power and ground connections feature set-screw terminals that can accept up to 4-gauge bare wire. The remote turn-on and speaker output set-screw terminals can accept up to 6-gauge bare wire. Two Allen wrenches (2.5mm and 3mm) are supplied to tighten/loosen the set screws.
Remote Turn-on: In addition to turning on and turning off the amplifier via the head unit's remote output, the remote turn-on also operates the reset circuit for the amplifier's protection system. The remote turn-on lead must be connected to the head unit in order to reset the protection circuits.
Bass Remote: The amp has a female RJ-11 phone jack for plugging in the Bass Level Remote Control cable.
Wiring Kit Fuse Ratings: This amplifier uses three 25-amp fuses, so its total fuse rating is 75 amps. The Streetwires 4-gauge amp wiring kits (211PS4Bi, 211PS4Ri and 211AK4) include an 80-amp fuse, which will accommodate the amp's fuse rating. Other 4-gauge amp wiring kits carried by Crutchfield include a 60-amp fuse. If you are using a 4-gauge amp wiring kit with a fuse rated for less than 75 amps, the fuse should be replaced with an 80-amp AGU fuse (please see accessory list).
Warranty: The manual indicates a 1-year parts and labor warranty, however Profile has extended the warranty to three years parts and labor for units purchased from Crutchfield.
