About the Alpine SPS-600
Alpine combines outstanding materials with superior construction to create their Type-S Series speakers. Upgrade your factory speakers with these Alpines, and they'll fill your vehicle with high-fidelity sound at a reasonable cost.
The SPS-600 6-3/4" speakers use strong, lightweight polypropylene-mica woofers to handle the lower frequencies. Air-injected rubber surrounds keep cone movement under tight control, eliminating distortion and enhancing bass. Stamped steel frames provide rugged support for these speakers, and their low profile allows them to fit in more factory locations.
The 1" silk dome tweeters play your high notes smoothly and comfortably with no hint of harshness. You can also swivel the tweeters up to 10 degrees to improve the stereo image at your listening position. These efficient Type-S speakers will sound great with a low-powered factory radio, but they're also made to handle the high power output of an external amplifier. Grilles are included.
Note: Alpine describes this model as a 6-1/2" speaker. Most manufacturers designate this same frame size as a 6-3/4" speaker. For simplicity's sake we list it as a 6-3/4" speaker.

Features
Poly-Mica Cone: Each speaker features a Poly-Mica cone. Mica adds strength and heat resistance to polypropylene, resulting in reduced distortion and improved reliability.
Air-injected Rubber Surrounds: For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofers use air-injected rubber surrounds.
Silk Dome Swivel Tweeters: Each speaker has a 1.0" Wide-Range Silk Dome Tweeter for excellent high frequency sound reproduction. The tweeters can swivel up to 10 degrees so you can adjust for the optimum listening position. When the tweeter is fully angled at 10-degrees, the speaker's mounting height is increased by 0.125".
Highly Efficient Design: The SPS-600's high-efficiency design allows the speaker to be run off of your factory or aftermarket head unit, resulting in an easy system improvement for many vehicles requiring a 6-3/4" or 6-1/2" speaker.
Shallow-Design: The Alpine SPS-600 features a stamped steel shallow frame. This shallow mounting design allows for easier installation in a wide range of door panels giving you a perfect fit.
Adapter Rings: The supplied adapter rings allow the speakers to be installed in a standard 6-1/2" opening or an oversized GM/Chrysler 6-1/2" opening. The adapter ring mounts to the speaker using the supplied machine screws. The adapter rings have tabs that must be broken off when the speakers are mounted in a standard 6-1/2" opening. Also, when mounting the speaker in a 6-1/2" opening you will need to use the factory speaker's screws.
Grilles: The Alpine SPS-600 Type-S speakers come supplied with protective speaker grilles when mounting the 6-3/4" speakers in a non-factory location. The grilles feature a black plastic ring and a silver metal mesh grille. The grille mounts to the speaker using the supplied mounting screws. The grilles cannot be used in conjunction with the adapter rings.

Awesome set of speakers!!! I have a 2001 dodge dakota and I get Great sound from these speakers, very clear also really nice sounding bass... Actually wondering if I even need a sub now. Crutchfield was very helpful with my order and I recieved the shipment in two days!!!
