Looks great and the sound quality is very good. Tuner and Bluetooth work very well. Display brightness is probably fine for a hardtop; but, I wish it was brighter for our convertible. Also, when the unit is turned off, there is no clock. I really don't like that.

Great sound on my car with a factory amp

I bought this for my 2007 Toyota Highlander hybrid with factory JBL amplifier after I was experiencing white noise with another unit. I choose it specifically for the 2V pre amp audio output which I believed to be the problem. The unit was easy to install, especially with the Crutchfield ready harness service. Sounds great and syncs up to Bluetooth quickly after turning on.

Great sounding radio. Super easy instillation. Buttons are a little small, but I do have gorilla hands. If you are thinking about it, just buy it. You won't be disappointed !

Bluetooth is junk!

Alpine isn't what it use to be in the 90's Bought this for my Harley and it's junk! I spend more time trying to connect the Bluetooth than I get to enjoy my Harley. Bluetooth is absolutely garbage on these units. If you like playing around and with it and listening to music 10% of the time then buy this alpine junk, JVC isn't much better Bluetooth worked but radio failed a month after warranty expired all china junk!

Huge upgrade over OEM

I debated between this and a much more expensive double din. This is a HUGE upgrade from my 10 year old factory head unit.

Poor quality

I purchased the Alpine UTE-73BT in late January 2025. Initially, it performed well for three months, but then it unexpectedly lost all sound. While the unit still powers on and allows me to navigate through its settings, there is no audio output via Bluetooth, radio, USB, or AUX. I attempted troubleshooting by performing a factory reset and updating the firmware, but unfortunately, these efforts did not resolve the issue. Upon reaching out to Crutchfield's tech support, I was informed that, since I was beyond the 60-day return window, there was little they could do. While I understand that the failure of the unit is not their fault, I had hoped they would consider some reasonable options to assist a longtime customer. However, they remained firm in their policy. More than anything, I am disappointed that the unit only lasted a little over three months. I hope to have better luck with Kenwood.

Good sound quality and ease of use but would give the Bluetooth one star. When returning to the vehicle after streaming, via Bluetooth, the audio cuts in and out 3-5 times before remaining constant. You cannot voice call using a phone contact either. You need to voice the phone number. I have a 4 year sony that can do this?? If you will be using your Bluetooth alot i wouldn't recommend this deck.

Alpine is always top of the line great settings and sound control. Crutchfield is a great company to buy from i live in NC and always get my stuff next day i order. All of the install equipment needed is free when you buy the head unit!!

Bluetooth connnectivity is clunky to say the least. Output volume is low and distorts at half volume. This is using an external amp matched to speaker rms

It's really hard to give a fair review considering I am installing this unit in 2025 and it was seemingly designed in 2014ish. Everything works as expected and it is exactly what I was wanting. I would love a more updated DSP, DAC and Codec but I understand that not many people are buying single din deck in 2025 while looking for a more classic look. Overall I would probably buy it again.

Growing up, Alpine was the best you could buy. I always wanted an Alpine stereo. (Keep in mind, that was the early 90's). I finally had the oopportunity and felt that I could afford the best. Wow, I could not be more disappointed. The stereo does not perform like other brands. The bluetooth is always glitchy. I have reset it, updated firmware (which is an absolute pain in the you know what), and still the bluetooth has a hard time. And the sound is not any better. I would recommend the Kenwood deck over this one. Same price and you can connect more than one phone at a time.

The Alpine UTE-73BT installation couldn't have been easier. The ready harness was plug and play. The dash kit was a flawless fit. It matches the contour of the dash perfectly. The radio improves the sound of the OEM speakers. The Crutchfield support desk was great! I now have up to date source of music options for my commute to work. The original tape deck in the OEM radio just wasn't doing it for me. Haha. Thank you Crutchfield for assisting me in making my commute more sonically pleasing.

So I'm replacing a sony deck that didn't last very long. This Alpine one came in 3 days and after installing I immediately felt the difference in quality. Buttons feel way more sturdier and although I just did a swap(same speakers) the sound is more clear. Super happy with this alpine. Was surprised it didn't come with a remote, with my sony deck the volume control went out among other things so I used the remote until I could buy another deck. Either way it was a good deal on this deck. For the folks with old school rides if you have an equalizer you only need one rca output out of the deck. Made a few purchases from crutchfield and have always had a good experience.

Terrible bluetooth

Bluetooth only connects occasionally and doesn't work well with apple devices. I have had this unit installed in my civic for a month and absolutely hate it. Take my advice buy a kenwood because alpine is trash.

Firmware update impossible

I can't update the firmware! The owner manual states the firmware update process is available only when the source is off! How can anyone do anything with the head unit if the source is off???

I bought the Alpine UTE-73BT to replace a factory unit in my 96 chevy 1500 because it was only a cassette player and no auxiliary connection. With the crutchfield pre assembled wiring kit I was able to install the unit myself and it sounds great ???? I have never installed a radio myself and crutchfield made it very easy to do. Thanks guys for offering this option it really makes a huge difference for me to install myself. Everything came in one package and crutchfield also offers tech assistance if needed. ?? Their prices are also unbelievable and I can see why they are celebrating 50 years ?? Thanks again ??

I've only had the stereo install for a week. It sounds fine and I like that it can handle to bluetooth connections at once. But I did have to reset the bluetooth connections once, because it quit working on one of my phones, the reset and re pairing fixed everything. Hopefully that was a one time event. Time will tell.

needed subwoofer preout

This Alpine unit is exactly what I need doing a total refresh of the factory system in my old 4x4 Tracker, but also adding a powered subwoofer. So having a subwoofer pre-out was a requirement, with enough umph to run 5 1/4" speakers without additional amplifiers. The removable face gives me confidence to leave my ride parked with the removable top off. Great deal on open box item, shipped carefully packed. like new but with savings and Cruthfield'd ' got my back' feeling.

This is the third one I've bought. I am probably going to install one in every vehicle I own. This one is going into my 1986 Chevy Squarebody, but I've also installed these in a 2015 Camry and a 2005 Matrix. It is my go to, super dependable radio choice. Nice features, great sound. You really can't beat this radio at this price point.

bad product, worse installation package

First of all, the installation kit is terrible. The unit is designed to be held in place by tabs inside dash, but there is nothing for the tabs to attach to. Second, the unit turns off and on in a random fashion, possibly because it is shifting around. Third, the sound quality from Bluetooth connection varies from okay to terrible, including loud static. Very disappointed.
