Compatible Harley Davidson Motorcycles: The WHDHU.14+ is an upgraded, aftermarket digital multimedia receiver for select 2014-2023 Harley Davidson Touring motorcycles. The WHDHU.14+ installs in the factory OEM radio location with the factory brackets and mounting hardware from the factory radio, maintaining a "factory-look" without the need for a separate installation kit. The included wiring harnesses plugs the WHDHU.14+ receiver directly into the motorcycle's factory radio wiring harness for a simple connection without the need to crimp or solder. The WHDHU.14+ also utilizes the factory OEM radio antenna connector and USB media port by simply connecting the factory antenna cable and USB cable to the corresponding proprietary sockets on the back of the receiver. IPX5-Rated: Exceeding expectations, WHDHU.14+ was subjected to testing above and beyond industry standards, proving its suitability in harsh riding conditions for long-term use. As a result, WHDHU.14+ earned an Ingress Protection (IP) water-resistant rating of IPX5, protecting itself from practically any weather condition you'll ride in, even after a quick trip to the bike wash. Important factors like an optically bonded QLCD screen, sonically welded ABS assemblies, conformal coated circuits, silicone gaskets, as well as UV protection ensure the WHDHU.14+ performs reliably for years to come.

7" Capacitive Touchscreen: The WHDHU.14+ features a fixed 7" optically bonded QLCD with capacitive touchscreen control. The 7" QLCD screen has a resolution of 1024 x 600 (614,400 total pixels). The capacitive touchscreen provides a high contrast ratio, crystal clear display, and vivid text; as well as highly responsive touchscreen operation. Touchscreen operations include touch, swipe, and drag.

• Wallpaper: You can select between five preset wallpapers (backgrounds), or you can upload a custom image via a USB thumbdrive for the head unit's wallpaper (background).
• Illumination: You can manually adjust the capacitive touchscreen monitor's brightness for day and nighttime viewing. You can also setup the unit to have the display dim when you turn your motorcycle's lights on and then brighten when the lights are turned off.

Touch-Sensitive Buttons: In addition to the 7" capacitive touchscreen, the WHDHU.14+ offers a total of six touch-sensitive buttons (three on either side of the touchscreen) for operation of commonly used functions - such as Apple CarPlay/Android Auto Launch, Voice Recognition (for CarPlay or Android Auto), Power/Mute, Home/Menu, and Volume Up/Down. The buttons' illumination can be set to White, Red, Yellow, Blue, Purple, Green, Light Green, Custom (Off), or Auto (On). The Custom (Off) mode allows you to create your own illumination color, while the Auto (On) setting cycles through all available color presets.

Handlebar Control Integration: The included HDHU.14HCM.handlebar integration module allows you to retain your motorcycle's factory OEM handlebar controls for key functions such as volume level, music playback, & phone calls.

Apple & Android Integration

Built-In WiFi: The WHDHU.14+ features built-in WiFi for wireless connectivity specifically designed to support a cable free connection between your Apple iPhone or Android smartphone and the receiver. By supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via a wireless connection, you no longer need to worry about taking your smartphone out of your bag or your pocket before you get into your car.

• GPS Antenna: The included GPS antenna must be installed for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to function.
• Cellular & Data Plan Requirements: Access to CarPlay and Android Auto apps will depend on the availability of a cellular network for purposes of allowing your iPhone or Android smartphone to connect to the Internet. Your compatible Apple or Android device will need an active cellular data plan with access to the Internet.

Apple CarPlay (Wired or Wireless): Apple CarPlay is a smarter, safer way to use your Apple iPhone in your vehicle. Your iPhone 6S or newer (running iOS 9.0+) can be connected to the WHDHU.14+ wirelessly via WiFi + Bluetooth. The WHDHU.14+ also retains your motorcycle's factory OEM installed USB port, so you can make a wired connection to an iPhone 5 or newer (running iOS 7.1+). CarPlay takes the things you want to do with your iPhone while driving and puts them right on the display of the in-dash receiver. You can use the head unit's touchscreen or your voice and Siri to get directions, make calls, send and receive messages, and listen to music - all in a way that allows you to stay focused on the road.

• Maps: Through Apple CarPlay, the power and simplicity of Apple Maps comes to your dashboard; complete with turn-by-turn direction, traffic conditions, and estimated travel time. You can enter a new destination or choose a favorite or recent destination using the head unit's touchscreen or by simply asking Siri. CarPlay can also predict where you most likely want to go using addresses from your email, text messages, contacts, and calendars. If you have iOS 12.0 or newer on your iPhone with the latest version of Google Maps or Waze, you can choose to navigate via Google Maps or Waze instead of CarPlay. Google Maps and Waze do not support Siri voice control, but will have their own proprietary voice control function which has to be accessed through a touchscreen icon on the receiver.
• Phone: With Apple CarPlay, you can use the WHDHU.14+'s interactive touchscreen or ask Siri to make calls, return calls, and check voicemail. To dial a phone number, simply tap the "Phone" icon and Siri will ask you who you want to call. Using the touchscreen you can manually enter a phone number from the on-screen keypad, scroll through contacts, or select from recent and miss calls. In addition, you get access to your voicemails via touchscreen and Siri. When a call comes in, simply tap the "Phone" icon to answer. You'll carry on your side of the conversation through the included external microphone, while the other party is heard through your vehicle's speakers.
• Text Messages: Apple CarPlay also lets you enjoy a better and safer way of text messaging with friends and family when you're on the road, through the receiver and Siri. Through your voice commands, Siri can send, read, and reply to your text messages so that you never have to glance at your phone while behind the wheel. When a new message comes in a banner will come across the screen and Siri will read back the message for you. Text messages cannot be read or typed from the head unit's touchscreen to prevent driver distraction.
• Music Library: CarPlay lets you access your music in your iPhone's music library, plus iTunes radio from the WHDHU.14+. You can browse your music by Playlist, Artist, Song, etc.. just like you would on your iPhone from the WHDHU.14+'s touchscreen. You can also use Siri to find and play back your music. The WHDHU.14+'s touchscreen will display song/artist information, as well as album art in the background. Tap the Now Playing icon on the receiver's capacitive touchscreen and see song, artist, album information with Album Art displaying in the background. From the Now Playing screen you also get basic playback function, like Play/Pause, Previous Next/Track, Fast Forward/Rewind, and Repeat/Shuffle.
• Audio Apps & Podcasts: CarPlay also supports additional audio apps that you've downloaded to your iPhone for enjoying music, podcasts, sports, news, and audiobooks - including Pandora, Tidal, Spotify, iHeart Radio, TuneIn Radio, Slacker Radio, Vox, Stitcher, MLB.com At Bat, CBS Radio News, NPR One, OverCast, Audiobooks.com & Audible (subscriptions and fees may app). Control them from the head unit's touchscreen or Siri just like you would from your iPhone. Your iPhone's touchscreen remains unlocked during CarPlay connection, so you are able to access additional music apps and listen to them through the receiver; however these apps offer no control or display information from the head unit's touchscreen.
• Apple HomeKit Compatible: CarPlay now supports control of Apple HomeKit enabled devices (sold separately) through Siri. Using CarPlay in your vehicle, you can ask Siri to close or open your garage door, turn on or off home lighting, increase or decrease the temperature of your thermostat, as well as control select functions of other Apple HomeKit enabled devices and appliances. Android Auto (Wired or Wireless): The WHDHU.14+ digital multimedia receiver supports Android Auto with select Android smartphones using a wireless or wired connection. A Google or Samsung smartphone with Android OS 10.0+ or any smartphone with Android OS 11.0+ and 5GHz WiFi can utilize Android Auto Wireless with the WHDHU.14+ receiver using a WiFi and Bluetooth connection. The WHDHU.14+ also retains your motorcycle's factory OEM installed USB port, so Android smartphones running Oreo 8.0 or newer can be connected via a USB + Bluetooth connection. Android Auto brings the most useful apps of your Android smartphone to the in-dash receiver, making it easier for you to keep your main focus on driving. You can control things like navigation maps, phone calls, text messages, music, and more using the head unit's touchscreen or your voice and Google Assistant. With large touchscreen icons, a simplified user interface, and the Google Assistant, it's designed to minimize distraction so you can stay focused on the road.

• Google Assistant: The WHDHU.14+ receiver enhances your Android Auto experience even more by incorporating Google Assistant using the head unit's external microphone and your car speakers for voice command and text-to-speech, which makes using Android Auto and all of its integrated applications fast, easy, and safe. You will need to press the "mic" button or say "OK Google" to activate the Google Assistant. Use the Google Assistant to make a call, send a message, reply to a message, get driving directions, or listen to music.
• Google & Waze Maps: Use Google Maps to get where you're going with on-screen maps, voice-guided navigation, live traffic information, lane guidance, and more. Select your destination by using the head unit's touchscreen or just say where you want to go through the unit's external mic and Google Speech Technology. You can even listen to music from your Android Auto device or other connected source device while using Google Maps. If you prefer, you can switch over to a simpler version of the community-based Waze navigation app (version 4.27 or higher).
• Phone & SMS: With Android Auto you get access to your contacts and messages through the WHDHU.14+ receiver while keeping your eyes on the road. Use the unit's external mic and Google Speech Technology to make a phone call, or have your text-messages read aloud to you while you concentrate on the road ahead; you can even reply to texts via voice command.
• Music: Access your Android smartphone's music library through the WHDHU.14+ receiver via Google Play Music. You'll be able to browse music like you do on your smartphone with song/artist information display and album art. Use the receiver's touchscreen to select songs or just say what song you want to listen to through the head unit's external mic and Google Speech Technology. You also get access to online music and radio stations from Amazon Music, Tidal, Pandora, Spotify, iHeart Radio, Slacker Radio, & Tune-In. Smartphone Charging: The WHDHU.14+ receiver will also charge (5V/1.5A) your Android Auto compatible Android smartphone or Apple CarPlay compatible iPhone while connected via USB with the vehicle's ignition switch set to the 'ACC' or 'On' position.

Bluetooth/USB/Camera Connectivity

Built-In Bluetooth 5.0: The WHDHU.14+ features built-in Bluetooth 5.0 with support for hands-free communication (HFP) and phonebook access (PBAP), plus wireless audio streaming (A2DP) and control (AVRCP). You can pair multiple Bluetooth-enable devices with the receiver, but only one device can be connected and used at a time.

• Hands-Free Communication: Thanks to support of Bluetooth's hands-free communication protocol, you'll be able to dial and receive calls from the WHDHU.14+ head unit. Incoming call can be simply answered from the head unit's touchscreen or you set it to automatically answering incoming phone calls. You can make calls from the head unit's touchscreen by entering the phone number directly on the receiver' on-screen numeric keypad, selecting from a list of displayed call logs (dialed/received/missed), or using your phone's transferred phonebook. The unit will display caller & contact info. You'll use the included external mic to speak into and the other party will be heard through the front speakers.
• Wireless Audio Streaming: You'll also be able to wirelessly stream stored music, music apps, and other audio content from your Bluetooth-enabled source device to the WHDHU.14+. In addition, you'll have playback control (Play/Pause & Previous/Next Track) from the receiver, as well as song/artist/album information display (no album art) on the WHDHU.14+. Advanced music browsing and album art will still need to handled from your Bluetooth source device. When there is an incoming phone call, wireless audio streaming will be paused until you end the call and then wireless audio streaming will resume.

USB MSC Playback: The WHDHU.14+ digital media receiver retains your motorcycle's factory OEM installed USB port. The factory USB cable will plug into the proprietary USB connector on back of the receiver. In addition to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, the USB port offers MP3, WMA, AAC, and FLAC music playback from a USB MSC (mass storage class) device, such as a USB thumbdrive - up to 64GB.

• Control: From the head unit's touchscreen you can browse your MP3 music folders and files; as well as control Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track, Fast Forward/Rewind, and Random/Repeat.
• Display: The receiver will display song/artist information, as well as Album Art, from a USB MSC connected device.
• Charge: The USB port will power your USB thumbdrive device or can be used to charge your smartphone. The USB port is rated at 5V/1.5A.

Camera Input: The WHDHU.14+ is outfitted with a composite video camera input which allows you to connect either a front or rear view camera (sold separately). The camera's image will be displayed on the WHDHU.14+ head unit's touchscreen monitor. Camera images must be accessed manually on the headunit (no auto-switching). The head unit also features a +12V/0.5A accessory wire that is used to provide power the camera.

Audio & Tuner Section

Class D Amplification: The WHDHU.14+ employs a Class D amplifier that is rated at 25 watts (RMS) x 4 channels and 50 watts (Peak) x 4 channels. The Class D amplifier can handle 4-ohm and 2-ohm speaker loads.

6Ch/5V Preouts: The WHDHU.14+ is outfitted with 6Ch/5V preouts - including a stereo front preout, stereo rear preout, and dual sub preouts. This allows you to connect an additional power amplifier or amplifiers. The front and rear preouts can be faded, while the sub preouts are non-fading.

Subwoofer Controls: You can adjust the subwoofer output's level (-10 to +10) independently from the overall volume. You can also adjust the subwoofer phase between 0 degrees and 180 degrees.

High-Pass & Low-Pass Crossovers: The head unit is equipped with an active crossover. The crossover limits the frequencies delivered to the speakers outputs and RCA preouts. The crossover adjusts the HPF (high pass filter) or LPF (low pass filter) of speakers and subwoofer, and also the slope (how fast the filter rolls off the highs or lows). Adjustments should be made according to the reproduction characteristics of the speakers.

• HPF: 50Hz, 80Hz, 120Hz, or 160Hz.
• LPF: 50Hz, 80Hz, 120Hz, or 160Hz.
• Slope: 12dB or 24dB

Equalizer: The digital multimedia receiver offers 6 EQ Presets and a 13-Band Equalizer. Choose from Off, Rock, Pop, Jazz, Electric, or Custom. The Custom mode allows you to manually adjust the unit's 13-Band EQ which consists of 50, 80 120, 200, 310, 500, 800, 1.25k, 2k, 3.15k, 5k, 8k, and 12.5k Hz frequencies.

Source Level Adjust: You can adjust the gain value of each source (AM/FM, USB, Bluetooth, CarPlay, & Android Auto) independently from -10 to 0 to prevent large variations of volume level between sources.

Maximum Volume Level: You can set a maximum volume level for the WHDHU.14+, so the head unit's volume level cannot be turned up past a certain level. The maximum volume level can be set between 40 and 50.

AM/FM Tuner: The WHDHU.14+ is equipped with an AM/FM tuner and retains your motorcycle's AM/FM antenna. The WHDHU.14+ offers manual, preset, and seek tuning. The unit lets you store up to 18 FM and 12 AM preset stations. The unit's tuner also is equipped with a Seek mode that when used with the Local function, only allows radio stations with a strong local radio signals to be played.

• RDS: The Radio Data System (RDS) feature displays radio broadcast information such as artist, title, and album when listening to compatible FM stations. FM stations with Radio Data System (RDS) service send inaudible digital information along with the regular radio program signal.
• US/European Tuning: The tuner also features selectable North America and European tuning.
