This is a beautiful piece of furniture it is way more attractive in person its 98% assembled however its extremely heavy you'll need help to carry it! The freight company did send me an email about the instructions upon their arrival but never told me when the delivery date would occur, they just showed up Luckily I was home. Strange !!
Pros: If it fits your criteria purchase it you won't be disappointed !

Clean and elegant

This cabinet has definitely impressed me. Though it has some limitations, overall, the quality of construction is excellent. The fit and finish is beautiful. It arrived well-packaged (the box was shrink-wrapped to a wooden pallet) and completely undamaged. Set-up is simple. Install door handles, install shelf-pegs and shelves, and slide-in the back panel covers (if desired). The only other adjustment needed is if the doors are out of alignment, there are instructions to help you align them for good clean panel gaps. Also, all 3 doors are soft-close. Once you've got the cabinet assembled, the fun part comes in setting up your components. A few tips and limitations I ran into when doing so: -On the bottom, there's a 4" high lip at the back, along the entire back side of the cabinet. Front to back, it's 18" deep, but if you have a deep component, like an integrated amp, large receiver, or power conditioner, this lip will impede connecting your cables to the back of it. I ended up putting my integrated amp on a shelf to get around this. You could also use risers as well. -Cable management is good via panel grommets in the 2 dividing panels, but a pro-tip: feed your larger cables with big plugs through first. The smaller ones will fit through more easily after. -Remotes. OEM IR remotes work fine through the glass. If you have a Logitech Harmony, or other universal remote, it may not. However, IR blasters included with many remotes get around thi

Cons: Very heavy to lift/move. Limited depth on bottom shelf. Aftermarket IR remotes need IR blasters inside cabinet.

Sturdy and beautiful.

This thing gave me anxiety when it arrived due to it weighing 270 lbs and arriving on a pallet. You will need 2 strong men to get this into the house as it weighs 200 lbs once out of the box. I hired two taskrabbit employees who helped me install it, but it's basically installed already. They were so impressed they gave it lots of compliments and were very curious about the price since it looked so great.

Outstanding

Since this piece was from the least expensive of the the three "Lines" of furniture offered by Salamander Designs, I had some concern about the design and quality. Well my concerns were ridiculous, because this is an excellent piece of furniture! It is SOLID!!! It comes pre-assembled, and it does NOT flex at all when moving it. The cable management system is good too. It arrived in 7 days, which is also amazing. It was packaging perfectly to avoid any problems. A very satisfactory purchasing experience!

Salamander Designs Contemporary SDAV2 7224

The stand is rated a 5+ but the shipment arrived damaged. Neither Crutchfield or the manufacture can replace the glass that is chipped. This is what I received from Crutchfield "Thank you so much for sending the photos of the damage to your Salamander Designs SDAV2/7224/W A/V Cabinet. I have notated your order, and saved the photos to our files." Thanks again!
Pros: hardware is excellent, shelf pins screw in. Very happy with the product.
Cons: This is a very heavy piece of furniture, not really a con, just make sure you have some help.

Functional Brilliance

Stylish and functional cabinet. Fits my center channel and reciever equipment perfectly while also have room for all my gaming consoles. Packging was thoughtful but hard to move, you are gonna need help getting this wherever you need it when you receive it!

Awesome A/V stand

I purchased the Salamander SDAV2-7224 several years ago and it has been an amazing AV console for the better part of almost 7 years. I didn't buy mine from Crutchfield bc I don't believe they carried this stand at the time but got mine locally. I had been eyeing it for several months but didn't want to spend the asking price on a entertainment console. But then my local big box retailer had it on sale, I had to get it at that point. Now that I own it I'd gladly pay the full retail price for it based on the quality of it. This thing is a heavy duty beast and designed for AV gear. It has air ventilation slats so hot air won't get trapped when the doors are closed as well as cable management openings to route cables from one side to the other without having the wires exposed. If you remove the back sliding boards from the amp I have, it just lifts right out of their tracks, you can easily fit the 19" deep amps in there. The front glass doors can be closed and my remote controls can still access my components inside the cabinet. Top marks across the board on this tv console stand and I highly recommend if you're on the fence.

Beautiful Cabinet Excellent Quality

I purchased the Salamander SDAV2 7224 AV cabinet. Wow I am impressed. The cabinet is very well made and to the highest quality. The shelf pins screw into threaded inserts. The doors are on hinges for opening and closing. They are not cheap hinges either. It arrived in a fullu padded box. After I unpacked it, all I had to do was insert the shelves and attach the 3 handles. The back has 3 sliding panels so you can access from behind. The doors were aligned as well and the cabinet was level. I did not have to adjust at all. Note: Check the depth of your receiver. I have a Yamaha A2070. It sticks out the back some. But thats ok. Next, I want to mention Salamanders Customer Service. I emailed them asking for the stain color so I could purchase for touch-ups if needed. I received an email from "Joe" who asked for my address so he could send me a touch-up kit free of charge. This is a beautiful piece of furniture.

Contemporary TV Stand

Modern, good looking, long TV/Entertainment stand shipped free via UPS (delivery man extremely helpful). Fully assembled and reasonably priced compared to other units costing over 2K.
Pros: Excellent packaging from Salamander to include particle board panels to protect glass doors. As always, great customer service and price from Crutchfield.
Cons: Top back border of stand (6 feet) is loose not flush with small gap causing a couple of tears/breaks (1-2 inches) in the veneer. Not real wood very heavy.
