Real Wood & MDF Construction: The Synergy series AV stand's top shelf & bottom base are 1-1/8" thick and consist of real wood veneers over an MDF core with a real wood lumber edge. These woods are a select grade of American hardwood and finished for durability and low maintenance.

Note: Wood being a natural product is prone to different grain patterns which can lead to slight variations in color and shade.

Anodized Aluminum Posts: At the heart of the Synergy series AV stand are unique square-shaped extruded aluminum support posts. Theses posts are used simultaneously as an external cabinet skeleton for supporting top, bottom, side, and back panels; as well as an internal skeleton for supporting shelves and drawers (sold separately).

Audiophile-Grade: The Salamander Designs Synergy series AV stand is designed with the Audiophile in mind. It is constructed of dissimilar materials which reduce transmission of performance robbing resonance. This will provide ample component isolation to enhance the sound quality of the system.

Shelf Capacity: The Salamander Designs Synergy series SL20 AV stand features a top shelf, three fixed bottom shelves, and three adjustable middle shelves. The top shelf measures 65.75" (w) x 19.75" (d), and can support up to a 75" flat-panel TV that weighs up to 350 lbs. Each bottom and middle shelf measures 19.75" (w) x 18" (d), and can hold up to 75 lbs. The middle shelves offer infinite height adjustment.

Removable Back Panels: Removable back panels permit fast, easy access to components and wiring. Wires can be easily hidden with the use of the rear panel by allowing cables to pass over and under them. There is approximately 1" of space between each shelf and the back panels, permitting wires and cables to pass-through.

Leveling Feet: The Salamander Designs Synergy series SL20 is fitted with heavy-duty, non-marking, leveling feet.

If you buy the Salamander Designs Saturn Wheels, do you need to buy 8? Looks that way in the picture.

Does the SL20B Salamander Design Synergy System come in an oak finish with colored or brass poles rather than the steel looking poles supporting shelves?

It doesn't make sense that the entire bottom shelf, where most people house thier amps (which also appears to be a single pane) holds only 75lbs. It looks like the top shelf, which holds upto 350lbs. What am I missing?

If you have gear that totals more than 75lbs it does need to sit on the TOP of the console with the Salamander Designs SL20B, David. Top of the console (not a shelf) is rated for the 350lbs you mentioned above, while ALL shelf's (lower or middle) will support 75lbs. Looking at all of the Salamander options it looks like that 75lb shelf weight is for most all console style models. If you have some heavyweight audio gear, consider running something like the SolidSteel HF-3 in the link below to the side to support that heavy gear! A number of reviewers have complimented the cable management, but I don't see any openings in the back. How does Salamander design for cable management? It's hard to see from the one stock photo.

The panels in the back are removable! There are slots to neatly place your cables through, which will help to conceal the cables from view in the front.

The cabinet does not have doors. It is an open cabinet with 3 panels that cover the back so that the wiring can be hidden.

What is the range of adjustment for each of the shelves on the SL20B?

Thank you for your question, Rick. Each compartment consists of a fixed bottom shelf and an infinite adjustable middle shelf. So you'll be able to customize the middle shelf to whatever suits your needs.
