The USB port was just what I needed. I drilled a hole in my console and installed.....went in without a hitch! Works great for a hard wire connection to my head unit.

USB extension cable

USB extension worked great and looks professional after installation. Makes it much easier to hook iPhone to unit in front vs back of unit.

Looks nice, doesn't fit securely in the Elantra cigarette lighter.

I installed a head unit from Crutchfield in my 2013 Hyundai Elantra. That included the after market harness to preserve the factory AV input and USB ports. Unfortunately that didn't work, as my phone was unable to connect with the head unit (wired, as the JVC unit didn't connect wirelessly) Crutchfield Support sent me another harness (that also included the circuit board with the USB and AV ports) at no additional charge. Didn't work. So, I bought this cable, connected it to the USB cable from the Head unit, and installed this in the cigarette lighter port. The fit was a little loose and I just used electrical tape on the inside to further secure this port to the dash. It looks nice, and connects to the JVC head unit without problems. (I chose the cigarette lighter location as I didn't like other locations to mount the port)

Great for older vehicles

Great product for earlier vehicles that never had a USB port. Match my dash and looks like it has been there the whole time.

Worked but could have been secured better

Worked fine - seemed a little small for the cigarette lighter that I took out (wouldn't latch in place). I ended up wrapping a little electrical tape around the mount to create the additional friction to hold it in place.

Clean install, wish it was a little more solid

Works well, I just wish it mounted a little more securely. I was careful to drill the tightest hole I could to mount it, but it still flops around some and rotates easily. Probably going to glue it, but that means if it wears out before the truck I'm looking in a scrap yard for another dash piece. A threaded body with a locking ring on the back side would work better.

A must have for factory look

Great addition for head units that offer USB input to provide a factory look. I have used these in the past three vehicles that I have installed aftermarket head units in. This is a must have for people looking for a clean factory look with their installs.

Little Small

It was a little too small to fit my 07 Dodge 3500, would not snap in, used glue stick to hold in place, but it worked out.

Great addition to a complete install

I used this on a 2017 Nissan Titan with a new head unit - This takes a 3/4 inch hole and works great. If you mark the hole centered and clean it, this looks factory. A trick I learned on this install was once you drill the hole, use a heat gun on the edges and wipe with a cloth. It keeps the edges from getting roughed up with sandpaper or a Dremel tool.

We had to do some rigging to get it to work Actually still had to use the lighter casing. This was meant for if you drilling a hole not using existing lighter hole. Quite a pain to do.

Fits to loose - Poor Design

Fits to loose. It would be very difficult to add some rubber sleeve to allow it to fit without gluing it to your dash. I opted to not glue my dash and sent it back. Otherwise, seemed to work ok.

Just what I needed

Works great Had to wrap the back side w/eletrical tape to make it a smidgen wider so it doesn't rotate in my eliminated 12v socket hole

This USB socket does what it is supposed to do . Unfortunately, the whole socket pulls out when you try to remove the cord. It might fir well in other vehicles but not mine.

Installed easily. I used a 3/4" Bosch Daredevil spade bit to drill the hole and just pushed the plug through it. Seems perfect. Its firmly in the hole and does not rotate (which was one of my concerns).

For 3/4" openings only

I ordered two of these to replace the two factory 12VDC Outlets below the radio. They plugged into the two USB Input Cables from the Sony XAV-5600 Head Unit, but they are too small for the opening left by the removal of the factory outlets. I was led to believe that they would fit. I wish that there was an adapter for 3/4" to 1" openings.

Not needed for my application

2014 Tacoma Double Cab - So this piece came with the Install Kit... I did not use it as my vehicle had the factory USB / Aux below the HVAC controls that I plugged the radio into. The USB below the HVAC works for using Apple and Android carplay with my radio. If you do not have the USB / Aux then you would need this, I gave it a 3 star only because it was included in the kit - at least it is there if you need it.

The cable worked to provide Apple Car Play with my receiver, however, the tension clips or tabs that hold it in the dash did not work in my car. I had to replace it with a similar cable having a nut on the back.

Part is too small for standard cutout. Doesnt fit

Doesn't fit the standard hole for either the lighter or extra USB port on the jeep 2008 wrangler. The part is too small for the diameter of the stock cut out. Despite saying it does ! I didn't feel like cutting a new smaller hole to make it fit. Be helpful if manufacturer told you the exact diameter of this port and recommending a more plug and play ( no pun intended ) device.

It's nice and small and it fits into where your cigarette lighter will go as long as you don't take out the metal piece. Had to secure it with electrical tape to hold it in place that's sort of loosely. I am having trouble with my Android coming disconnected don't know if it's this or my phone itself.
