Hard hitting bass for a 8 inch sub
Pros: Big bass in a small space
Cons: The screw holes on the sub housing stick out too much to screw it properly into a cylinder bass tube. Not proper fit but that's because I mounted it in a bass tube. If you mount it to a regular sub box it should be good to go

2 of these paired with a RF-750.1 amp absolutely rock in a ported box. I did try them in a sealed box built to spec also. I prefer the ported box!!

Good output not earth shattering but complements a solid stock system well, I have 2 in separate ported enclosures at .52 cu ft tuned to ~33hz and it sounds great down to 30hz or so. fantastic for 2 8s

2016 Toyota Corolla
two of these showed up with seized cones . Brand new supposedly yet both of them had cones that simply would not move . I tried getting them to move but I was afraid of breaking the cones , thats how seized they were . Ive owned a lot of subs and some of them do have stiff suspensions .....but these were SOLID ! My alpine R series 12 inch subs have stiff suspensions but you can move them . Nice looking paper weights however ! I can see getting one bad sub but both were identically solid .

Cons: N/A . Not fair to characterize based on these two units but this experience has taught me to check items immediately upon receipt . I was not planning on installing these for a month or two . They were on sale so I got them figuring they'd sit in the box awhile .

added 4 of these woofers in a ported enclosure under back seat with a punch 1000 and let me tell you it turns heads and makes people question are these really 8s! if you're thinking about it do it you won't be disappointed!

A Little Punch Goes a Long Way

The sub sounds great and looks good too. Rockford definitely makes a good solid woofer and this one does not disappoint. I added this to my family van too just add an extra punch (no pun intended) to the music and movies on our trips. I have it inverted in a sealed enclosure built into the rear side panel. I liked the way the motor and basket looked I had to invert it. The dual 2ohms voice coils allowed me to go with a smaller (low electrical power sucking) amplifier that was stable at 1ohm. Doesn't take up a lot of space and gives us enough of what we needed.

I love these Rockford subs. I still have plenty of trunk left and these hit hard for 8's. Paired with a Infinity 6001a amp wired for 2 ohms these things hit. I chose a sealed box and broke these in slowly and am very happy.

This small sub thinks that it is a 12"! Very clear, great response. Couldn't be happier with this purchase. Crutchfield as usual knocks it out of the park with quick delivery and customer service that you can't find anywhere.

I put this in a sealed box .3 as rated. Sounded terrible. It replaced a Kicker comp R but couldn't even compare the 2. Kicker was much better. I returned this speaker and now replaced with a JL 8w3. JL is so much better. Spend the extra money and get JL

Would recommend the Punch series over the basic subs. I was concerned that it wouldn't perform due to being fairly small in diameter but it went above and beyond. I had to modify the box to make the deep magnet fit but it was worth it.

Astonished by the sound quality for the price. Sounds crisper and clearer than my friends 400 dollar sub and far more powerful system. Also, great build quality and materials.

Installed in custom ported enclosure, in my black and red resto mod 85 Corvette. Construction and design is fantastic! Sound quality is impressive for accuracy in music. Just be aware that the lower frequency response numbers come from the ported enclosure not the sealed.

Cons: Sealed enclosure performance was inadequate.

Noticable
I decided to build an 8" sub as Ive never ran one. Built a sealed .42 cubic foot enclosure. They do add a fair amount of bass but im constantly wanting more. Good if you have very little room but mine didnt hit the low freq that a 12" does.

First set of 8's I've ever owned. Their so cute!Lol! I'm a big bass head so I wasn't sure what to expect, but not disappointed. These lil' subs hit some incredible low notes. Highly recommend these subs for anyone wanting a clean bass sound,but not to over powering.

Great looking sub woofer but that's where it stops. Stiff cone when the sub woofer arrived.

Cons: Due to stiff cone the sound quality is the worst I have ever experienced with a sub-woofer. I wasn't lucky enough to get the good subs like the other reviewers. No deep bass for me.

Greatest 8 inch sub I've ever heard! The factory sub in my car had blown and I had a difficult time finding a replacement sub! Never heard of Rockford until my buddy referred me! Sounds like I have a 10 inch in the trunk!!!
