I have a '23 Sportage, non HK stereo system and I had very little in the way of highs. I'm thoroughly impressed with my P1650's. They are a huge improvement over stock. I want to pair them with a good amp and sub, so that is next.
Pros: Mids Highs Overall Sound
Cons: Bass could be deeper. Pair them with a sub and you'll be rockin'.

I just wanted to replace the stock speakers in my 2016 Impreza and these are a good upgrade. Much more clarity, some decent mid and are very bright. I have never taken off the door panels but it was pretty easy to install with provided adapter, harness and clips. The instructions leave a lot to be desired and I don't I think I could have managed without a couple online videos. Both front door speakers took about 45 minutes.

Can't go wrong with Rockford Fosgate
Kris from Mustang, OK on 12/3/2024
Love the look and sound of these! I tested three 6.5 sets in my 1949 truck and these by far sounded the best. I installed them in the front kick panels and paired them with a Kenwood blue tooth amp and a JL audio micro sub behind the seat, I wish I could have found a Fosgate sub that would have fit back there to keep it all Fosgate. I love the set up and looking to drop another set in a 1947 Lincoln as well. I will have room for a Rockford Fosgate slim sub in that one.
Pros: Great sound clarity, great price point & great fit.
Cons: I haven't found any.

Rockford Punch P1650, no amp
Ren from Kapolei, HI on 7/24/2024

Awesome speakers. Replaced my OEM speakers one for one, no aftermarket amp required. But I'm sure it's even better with one. It has much crisper sound than OEM, highs is bit on the "blaring" side, which is fine because you can always turn down the treble. But if your bass is loud, it won't down your highs! Overall, perfect high quality speakers that won't break the bank!
Pros: Crisp highs! No aftermarket amp required, but I'm sure would sound better with one.
Cons: Not a speaker for low bass.

Spectacular - and given the price, even *more* impressed
Jay from SAN FRANCISCO, CA on 6/7/2024
I had installed a set of JL Audio C1-650x coaxials in my front doors. They ran me $120 and I was very disappointed given the lack of bass. I then installed a set of RF P1650s coaxials and I was absolutely blown away by how much clearer AND how much more bass these RFs had ---- and they were $20 less costly! I am powering these Rockford speakers with 50Wx2, so I've never tried to run these on head unit power, but with moderate amplification they sound SPECTACULAR. The only hiccup is that the mounting flange is a bit thick, meaning I couldn't use the original mounting screws that came with my car because they weren't long enough - I had to use the ones that were supplied by Rockford. The new mounting screws have a slightly larger diameter, which means I had to thread the mounting holes properly. That wasn't a big deal, but it did take a little extra effort --- the JL Audio speakers had a thin mounting flange.
Pros: Super clear midrange and highs, good bass for a 6.5" coax.
Cons: Mounting flange a little thick.

2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport
While the Crutchfield website lists these as not fitting my 2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport, they do in fact work ... actually Rockford Fosgate lists them as being specifically for VW, other imports, ... That aside, the speakers sound great and are definitely a nice upgrade to the stock equipped OEM speakers. I paired them with a JBL BassPro 8 subwoofer whose footprint measures just under one cubic foot of space. Makes for a very nice upgrade. Both the P1650 speakers and JBL sub are very highly recommended.
Pros: Nice upgrade from OEM speakers at a non-backbreaking price.

These speakers seem to have great build quality and look great. Sadly, I do NOT recommend them for a stock head unit. I drive a 2018 F150 with the 8 inch head unit. Highs were almost too much in my vehicle and it doesn't seem like the stock head unit has the power to push the lows. Sound quality with my setup is audibly WORSE than my stock speakers. I will be switching back to the oem setup. Really disheartening after tackling this job which I was outside my comfort zone doing. I do not fault the speakers for my experience. I simply followed the recommends from the Crutchfield page.
Pros: Build quality Price
Cons: Require more push that my head unit can supply

P1650 speakers perform very well. The sound is crisp and clean very detailed after they have had time to break in. My system is a JVC KD-T915BTS head unit Rockford Fosgate P400X4 amp and four P1650 speakers. Not all audio equipment sound good together when you are dealing with speakers of this caliber only the best equipment should be used. The amp and the speakers were designed to go together and the JVC head unit has a 13 band pro EQ built in witch gives you all the fine tuning of your system. The speakers need a amp and EQ to get the best out of them. My system sounds real good and the JVC and Rockford fosgate components interface very well together to creat a awesome sounding system
Pros: Well built great sounding speakers paired with the Rockford Fosgate P400X4 amp and JVC head is a great stereo system
Cons: None a little stiff sounding when new but after a few hours of playing the speakers started breaking in and now they sound awesome.

Pretty Impressive for the Price
Eric from Michigan on 7/30/2018
2002 GMC Yukon XL
I'm giving these 5 stars because for the price a pair, I don't know if you can do better. Keep in mind that if you're going to run any speaker without an amp, you're not really going to hear its full potential. In fact, even with an amp, the wrong head unit can easily make you think that if you're experiencing sound quality issues, that it's the speakers. So initially I had these speakers powered by a JVC head unit and no amp and, while obviously better than the stock speakers (2008 Honda CRV), I knew they needed more power. Then I installed an Infinity Reference 4555a 5-channel amp and added a sub. After weeks of tweaking my HU and amp, the system still sounded pretty bad. I thought it was these speakers. I was wrong. I ended up replacing my head unit to a Pioneer DEH-80PRS. This was the issue... the head unit, not the speakers. Now I'm pretty darn impressed with these speakers. They're beyond legit for the price. Great tone/sound from midbass to highs. If you have these and they don't sound good, it's probably another bottleneck in your system, not these. In fact, I had already purchased a set of more expensive components that I was going to replace these with, but now with my new HU, I'm reluctant to go through with it. They just sound that good. I guess eventually I'll put the new components in, but I will not part with these. I may install them in my wife's vehicle. So ultimately, if you have the money and want pretty
Pros: Great sound, great value.
Cons: No cons I can speak of.

Beware: These tweeters are very, very powerful
Sam from Tucson, AZ on 7/28/2018
2014 Honda Civic EX
After spending money on these, a head unit and an amp, I thought I would have one of my best car stereo systems to date. After a few days of fine tuning my stereo I can confidently say I'm not at all impressed by this set. The woofers/mid range are great and do exactly what they should do. However, the woofers are in the doors - and are near my legs when driving. The tweeters are the problem. These tweeters do produce very strong and crisp frequencies. However, because they are mounted in the front pillars (about eye level) of the car, they are incredibly harsh and strong. Because the crossover is built in and the tweeters are not recognized as a single speaker ((the car picks up each set (woofer and tweeter) as one speaker)), there is no way to adjust the tweeter by itself. This is a huge problem- if I want to turn the volume up and hear the music completely, my ears get demolished by these tweeters. Of course I can adjust the equalizer and cut the highs so the music is more audible, but then I lose the highs that the tweeters can produce very well. Essentially, beware of component speakers with crossovers built in- if your tweeters are at ear-level in the car. I've learned my lesson with these and will eventually be getting an adjustable crossover set so I don't go deaf. Pros: -good price -built in crossover (saves time) -strong bass and crisp highs -good installation mounts/gear Cons: -built in c

Great product and huge difference in clarity even with the factory system. Very well made especially i love the rubberized cover on the speaker magnets. . My Honda accord has a premium factory system with 7 speakers. I always heard about factory system not being sufficient to produce high quality sound so i just decided to change all speakers out before i touched the factory radio. I was very happy with the results and i did not have to change the head unit. Installation was easy with the harness supplied by Crutchfield. The size 6 3/4" said it would fit my car but unfortunately the harness did not fit. I exchanged it for 6 1/2" and it fit perfect.

I recently purchased three pair of R.F. Punch 1650 and one pair of punch 1642 for my van and equinox. Just installed them this weekend. What a difference in the quality of music coming from my vehicles. Just getting them out of the box you can tell you bought some great quality speakers. They were a definite upgrade from stock speakers. Oh they do punch when played loud enough. I tested them of course. The adapters and fractory clips that were included in my purchase made installation easier. I would definitely come back here in the future and recommend them to anybody else that is in the market for new speakers.

I have installed the Rockford Fosgate Punch P1650 pair in my 2015 Subaru STI. These speakers will need to be screwed into your door if you plan to out them in a 2015 Sti. I wish crutchfield created brackets that match up with the oem screw holes. However, these speakers do sound pretty good once installed. I dont have an amp but im sure an amp will push the most out of these speakers. The bass is good for the price, high are good and crisp, mid are okayish. Fosgate is the way to go.

Clean and clear bright vocal
Jason from Tri-Cities, WA on 12/4/2016
2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Installed into a 2014 Silverado Z71 with the non Bose 8" stereo. Had previously installed the Kicker VSS sub package and realized during a drive in the backseat with my son that vocals were non-existant even with the Kicker DSP helping. Ordered and installed these then tested the system; absolutely night and day with clarity and crispness. Went forward with the Rockford Fosgate component exchange up front (see my other reviews) as the stock components did sound muddled comparatively. Now the crew cab has a truly amazing sound stage. All in all extremely pleased with all audio investments I've made.
Pros: Clarity to cost ratio

08 canyon x cab , front speakers Polk db651s , rear speakers fosgate p1650' . I replaced front speakers awhile back , leaving the stock rear speakers . Sound was much improved . As soon as I replaced the stock rear speakers the improvement was noticeably cleaner , louder. The bass is Pretty good when all four speakers are running off of the aftermarket head unit / no external amp. 14 Rms fader biased to the rear. The p1650 also fit without the need for a bracket which is really nice. The fosgate are nice speakers and I will keep them . That being said , if I were to purchase 6.5 inch speakers again I would get Polk audio . Listening to the speakers separately I give the edge to Polk because of bass performance, keep in mind the front door is twice as large as the rear/half door and the speakers are behind the seats . The tweeters on the p1650 are permanently angled ,so you can rotate the entire speaker to direct the highs where you need them.
Pros: Crisp clean sound, they also give your car that new car smell
Cons: I would have to hear them amped in order to make comment here. Sound good for the low rms I'm putting through them.

Sounds way better than factory!
Jeremy from Jonesboro, AR on 10/13/2016
2008 Chevrolet Silverado
These sound great. I used them to replace the factory speakers in the door of my Silverado. They are definitely a huge improvement. You won't get a ton of bass but what you do get is tight and clean. I'm sure they would sound great with a little more power to them but I'm happy with the factory radio. The installation in my 2008 Silverado was pretty easy also. Both doors only took about 45 minutes. That included my coffee breaks due to being a little chilly in the garage. The only issue I had was the supplied bracket for the speaker seemed like it would rattle some the way it should have been installed. It had an extra screw tab that just sat on the door. I went ahead and drilled a new hole into the door and screwed it down just to keep from hearing an annoying rattle. But I recommend these for anyone wanting better sound than the factory speakers. Or for people like me whose cheap factory speakers just quit working.
Pros: Great price. Quality sound. Wonderful customer service.
Cons: None yet.

I bought these to replace the stock speakers in the rear deck of the car and get more mid range and highs out of my system, to my delight I was very impressed with the sound of these speakers, my system is still a little work in progress but none the less they if tuned right will deliver a great sound. my system, pioneer DEH-9600BHS for my head unit and a Rockford Fosgate R600X5 Prime series amp and a set of old school kenwood "10" subs in a sealed box in the trunk and punch P1692 in the rear deck and a set of P1650 in the doors. my system isn't tuned yet and they make a big difference in the whole sound. that said these are a great sounding speaker for the money if you tune your system right you should have some great sounding mids and highs (these speakers are not meant for hard hitting bass, they are mid range speakers and should be used as such!!)
Pros: great sounding speaker without breaking the bank
Cons: none yet.

The speakers provide excellent sound, especially for the price since I got them on sale. Installation was pretty straight forward after a quick call to the extremely helpful tech support to verify that I needed to drill new holes in my doors; should ditch the factory-supplied mounting clips and screws; and use self-tapping screws instead. I bought these speakers as replacements for the factory speakers. I had to drill mounting holes just like instructions from Crutchfield said i would. Very easy, very straight forward. Decent low end coax speaker. Doesn't do high volume very well. Driven off my head unit, so take with a grain of salt. Might perform better off a 4 channel amp. They do well as my rear stage.
Pros: Decent sound and cheap.
Cons: Don't handle high volume off the head unit. May be better off an external amp.

First off...These are 6.5 inch speakers. Crutchfield lists this as 6 3/4 but that is false. Otherwise, great speakers, but make sure to give them some time before thinking they are no good. I think they need a bit of time to break in, but they sounds great now.
Pros: Decent bass for a 6.5 speaker
Cons: Need break in time. but that's not really a con, just a reality fr most speakers I suppose. I never experienced it before until these speakers though.

I bought 2 sets for my 2007 tahoe doors. I had a blown factory speaker so I went ahead and bought these. It was money well spent! I also bought the baffles too. The bass output from these is unbelievable! There's really no distortion when the low bass notes come on. The highs are very clear! The bass from these actually make my mirrors shake as if I had subs in the back.
Pros: The bass!!!! Did I say the bass is incredible? Yeah it's that good! No distortion!
Cons: There really is t anything bad that I can say about these speakers other than that the mounting brackets that came with the speakers actually had to be modified so the speaker can sit all the way into the hole.
