Not Impressed at all
Roy from Coudersport, PA on 5/13/2024
2015 Toyota Tundra
Unfortunately I wasn't impressed at all. I had half blown wet rusted Hertz speakers I put in my Tundra that had way more bass than this setup. I also bought the 6+ inch woofers for the rear door but I don't hear any Bass from them even on volume 60 is what this system goes to. Very disappointing as I don't want to take my door panels off again, each time its inevitable to loose a tab somewhere on one of the panels and this is the third time they've been off ! I also received the wrong harness plug for the front speakers which wasn't terrible I just changed the ends for the speakers, they were all four for the rear! I know most of the problem is the Toyota sound system is the worst in the world but I'm done tearing things apart and trying to make it better!!
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: The Toyota sound system won't help these speakers sing!

2021 Ford F150 front door install
Mickey from Van Nuys, CA on 3/19/2022
2021 Ford F-150
I installed these Rockford Fosgate P1694 punch speakers in the front doors of my 2021 F150, the wiring harness connectors are too narrow to connect easily to the speakers's connection terminals. I took a very very very small flathead screwdriver and opened up the wiring harness connectors quite a bit to allow them to slip over the terminals on the speakers. Once they were connected everything was fine and the speakers fit perfect I used the Adapters purchased at Crutchfield, I had to purchase them stand alone as the speakers did not "officially" fit in the truck. Once these speakers were installed the sound in the truck came alive! Highs, lows, midrange and bass music perfection! I was able to order using a 2020 F150 to get the wiring harness thrown into the deal. The speaker adapter kit used was the Metra 82-5606 purchased separately at Crutchfield The provided wiring harness worked fine on the Ford side, only issue was the size manipulation on the speaker terminals. In retrospect the best and easiest install would have been to install the speakers into the adapters with the adapter holes on the bottom side of the speakers and taking the time to spread the connectors to mount onto the speakers. If done like that it would have been a 20 minutes install vs 1 hour 45 minutes install. Bottom line get these speakers for your 2021 F150 no problems once installed with windows or anything.
Pros: Once installed everything! Perfect so happy with the full range of these speakers.
Cons: Wiring harness took a little manipulation to connect it to the speakers, I believe that is why Crutchfield says it "does not fit your 2021 Ford F-150"

What Great Price For The Sound
robert from Lawrence KS on 8/5/2009
I bought these back in May 09, Cruchtfield said that they wouldn't fit, for the first time they where wrong, I am so glad they were. I don't know how close they are to the factory grills, but they fit like a glove! I put them in the back of my 96 Camry, let me tell you. It sounds like I put a 8 in sub in the trunk. Rockford did a great job, from lows to highs you can hear it all, very clearly. I have bought Rockford gear in the past and would buy it again. What I good deal for the price you pay! Buy them, It's worth it!!!!!

Unbelievable Sound

STOP your search! I purchased these for the front doors on my 02 Dodge Ram1500 Quad Cab. Amazing sound. Works and blends perfectly with the Infinity stock system. I originally went with a set of 6 1/2 Infinity speakers and before I even screwed them to the door I was disappointed. With these Rockford Fosgates, the exact opposite. I always liked RF and should of went with these in the first place. They have great bass even with the stock radio, and I can crank up the volume and bass levels as they do not distort. I listen to all kinds of music from heavy rock to heavy rap, and everything in between. These Rockford Fosgates ROCK! The other reviews here were right about the installation. You WILL need the factory bracket (just pry it loose from the factory 6x9's) AND install the speakers with the speaker connections to the top. I used all exisitng clips that were already there, no extra clips needed. Also, I did wrap the existing wire around the inside wires (not zip tied) and faced the connectors to the top and it easily cleared the window assembly.

Great Value (2005 Ram 1500 Reg Cab Rumblebee)
Tony from Fayetteville NC on 4/8/2009
2005 Dodge Ram 1500
Outstanding product with unexpected bass levels for a door mounted 6x9. One two things not noted in the Master Sheet were: A. You must retain the original facotry 6x9 spacer affixed to the OEM speaker for the new speaker to fit. The original spacer is semi glued to the basket of the OEM speaker. Work it easy and it will slip off eventually. When installing the spacer to the new speaker you must clip the guide tabs or they will not seat properly to the basket of the 1694's. B. You MUST zip tie the wire connector to the existing wire bundle or the window linkage will catch the wireing and disconnect the wires from the speaker. I had the OEM premium Infinity 7 speaker setup. I replaced the door speakers with the 1694 Punch and the rear 5 1/4's with the 135 Prime's. Great sound and noticeable low end punch with clarity. I will leave the dash mounts in place as they are producing very good highs. The cab now sounds full and rich with the factory radio/6 disk changer and factory amp. ...next will be either an Infinity 10" Sub and amp setup or a Fosgate 10" setup. Then my "Bee" will be buzzin :D

I bought these to replace some 6 X 9 speakers in the rear of my 1979 Chevrolet Malibu Classic Coupe. I had to mount them underneath the rear deck, This allowed for a rock solid mount. Which now makes the whole car shake under heavy bass. They sound Awesome and I will definitely order from Crutchfield again. Thank You Crutchfield.

Sound better than they fit

These speakers sound great, a nice upgrade from the factory 6x9's. As the previous reviewers stated, they don't fit pefectly in in a 2008 Dodge Ram QC. The opening needs to be enlarged a bit and the wire harness needs to zip tied out of the way of the window.

Great Sound
John from Texas on 2/13/2009
These speakers sound great! The only problem is that they do not fit into the speaker opening that is located in the front doors of my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500. You will need to make the hole larger which can be done with a mallet. Also, the mechanism that lowers the power window snags on the wires and disconnects the speaker. You will need to zip strip the wires out of the way to allow for this device to clear the wires. Other than that, the first speaker took me 30 minutes to install and the second one only took me 10 minutes. Hopefully this will help the next Dodge Truck owner who purchases these speakers. Please don't let these little details detract you from purhcasing these speakers as they sound great once installed!

Good speakers
Bill from Roopville, GA on 2/12/2009
2005 Dodge Magnum
I purchased these speakers from Crutchfield for my 2005 Dodge Magnum. My car had the "premium" factory stereo by Bostom Acoustics, but I figured these would still deliver better sound. I was right - sort of. When I took the old speakers out, I was suprised to see that the Boston factory speaker looked very cheap, even had one of those silly whizzer cones! Installation was a breeze thanks to Crutchfield MasterSheets. Upon hooking them up, I was pleased with the sound - as well as slightly disappointed. They did sound better than the factory speakers, but not significantly. Don't get me wrong, they sounded great - but I suppose the Boston Acoustics sounded pretty good as well. Also, like most aftermarket speakers I have used, these actually had LESS bass than did the Bostons - I attribute this to the fact that the factory speakers are made to be the complete system, where aftermarket speakers assume you will probably add a subwoofer (which I have). Also it should be noted that I still have the factory head unit (Navigation unit by Alpine) which I'm sure does not help the sound. I listen to everything from Cradle of Filth to Jewel to Lil Wayne - and these speakers seem to handle them all pretty well. In short, I think these are good speakers for the money and would recommend them, especially if your factory speakers suck. If you have a newer car with a "premium" stereo, and don't plan to add an amp to these (or a sub to your stereo), perhaps it is not worth the swap.

Sound great but...
James from Virginia Beach, VA on 1/27/2009
2005 Dodge Ram 2500
I really like the sound quality. I replaced the stock front door speakers in my 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 with these. They were not a perfect fit. I had to modify (enlarge) the speaker openings to allow them to fit at all. After I got them in, the windows hit the wires and magnets, disconnecting one of them. Overall extremely satisfied with the product performance, but the "fits" designation was not completely accurate.

Almost Fit
Jason from San Marcos, TX on 1/20/2009
2006 Chevrolet Impala
I bought these speakers to replace my stock 6x9s in the rear deck of my 2006 Impala. The Mastersheet was almost perfect with the directions, I say "almost" because it would've been nice to know that the stock speakers were glued in and must be pried off. The second problem I have is that the speakers don't quite fit in the bowl of the mount. I was able to secure them tightly with two screws, but when it says "Item Fits" I expect it to fit perfectly.
