I never give 5 stars for anything but here's 4 for the fact that this sub is pretty good. Had to adjust for fit in my '13 Jeep GC SRT8, but it was well worth it. Sounds excellent! Hits harder than the stock Harmon Kardon.
Pros: Sounds really good.
Cons: Had to do minor adjustments for fit.

I put this speaker in a sealed shallow enclosure with a little bit of polyfill behind it, and have been blown away by how powerful and accurate it is just using the stock JBL amp in my 2007 RAV4. The position I ended up with it being in was leaning on the front 2 seats facing the trunk

Tacoma fit for the Win
Andrew from Columbia, TN on 2/14/2025
Put into a Toyota Tacoma SR Access cab 4x4 , used two 70 dollar down firing boxes , some fiber fill for low air space , and these things Bang . They bang harder than others I've had . I'm also using a 500w RMS @ two ohm Fosgate Monoblock amp. You'll be happy if you need a small foot print but want bass fill .

Powerful sub for tight spaces at a reasonable price point
Adrian from Gainesville, FL on 1/25/2024
I have this in a sealed Skar audio fiberglass box with the minimum amount of sub enclosure space possible (about 0.6 cubic feet - it was the only box custom made for the Tacoma storage bin besides the $1,000 JL Stealthbox), and it's powered by an Audio Control LC6.1200 pushing 400 Watts bridged. It is loud, tight and clean. I have it wired in series at 4 ohm. I originally had the same sub but with the 4 ohm dual voice coils (wired parallel for 2 ohms) with a different amp. My current amp can only be bridged for a 4 ohm load. Crutchfield exchanged it for me no questions asked, and I had a new sub a week after my previous one shipped. My only issue is that the mounting brackets (or whatever you call where the screws go) are fairly thick and wide (this is good in terms of securing and supporting the amp, but bad if you have tight mounting clearances). And I also wish it had a grill, not just a ring. But it otherwise great in terms of performance and shallow depth. And while I have not had it very long, it appears very solid and quality built. And Crutchfield is a great company to buy from. They have a service ethic that prioritizes customer satisfaction, pretty much no matter what.
Pros: Powerful clean bass Solidly built Tons of data in the manual Decent price
Cons: No grill Mounting brackets a bit wide/thick

So far this sub sounds great paired with the Class AB 300X2 amp (bridged). Well done, quality construction, this thing will last a while. I have it mounted in a homemade sealed box (0.52 cf) and it hits perfect for the type of music I enjoy. I wanted to build a vented box to reach those low tickles but this sub needs a larger air space than what I can provide in my truck. Rockford Fosgate provides a ton of information for installing, wiring, and tuning their products. I love it when companies do this.
Pros: Quality sound, It sounds just as good as normal sub-construction (non-shallow) and it has tough materials. Plenty of support from Rockford Fosgate as needed.
Cons: Needs a large air space 1.0+ cf for vented boxes (not great for under the rear of my double cab Tundra.

I needed to replace my subs they were 5 years old and one had a bad voice coil.I had the MTX fpr 10, they don't make them anymore. So I figured I would try these. They seem decent . They don't hit the lows as good as the MTX did, but they sound ok. A little disappointed because I think the MTX sounded better. Hope they last.

These were installed on OBS Ford crew cab truck project in an enclosed sub box and they work great. They hit hard when you want them to. More than ample for a pickup. This shallow mount sub produces excellent bass with all music types. I installed it in a small space under the back seat of my 2004 Ram and I'm very pleased with the performance. The sound is clean, tight, deep, and never disappoints. Crutchfield tech support was very helpful in guiding me through a bridged configuration from my Fosgate 300S amp. Install was simple and fast. So I put two of these in my 2015 Crew Cab 2500HD. Those with trucks will understand how limited we can be on space so these were the right subs for the price. Even thought their a shallow mount they do more than what I needed, but that is really up to who is listening to the music. I have these getting pushed by a Kicker 600.1 @ 2 ohms in a sealed enclosure. It gave me exactly what I was looking for which was tight clean bass. Sure they can be Loud, but that wasn't my goal. Now I can listen to the music I want to hear the way it was intended to be heard.
Pros: Shallow subs are finally coming around for those with limited space. There's Shallows out there that can take more wattage, but at this price and brand you can't beat it.
Cons: Non so far, but I'm still breaking them in.

Awesome Sub!
GolfEngr1 from Fort Worth,TX on 6/17/2013
I have this installed in a box I built and it is excellent. For one 10" it adds a level of dynamic to music that really makes it stand out. I have very wide range of listening from today's hits, hard rock, 80's, and even a little country. I have this powered by an Alpine 5 channel and the sub output is more than enough to satisfy everything. The sub can hit the lows and is very tight! I am impressed with this product. **Make sure your box is built to the correct internal volume. I forgot to calculate the displacement of the sub itself on my first box and it was good but I noticed missing some extreme lows and higher bass lines. Also noticed more distortion. The 2nd box made a huge impact and was able to adjsut the gain up and I have not come close to distorting this sub. I used an internal volume of .57.
Pros: Great sounding sub. Big sound in a shallow enclosure.
Cons:
